Please do not confuse the acts of a sovereign state with the acts of a terrorist rabble. Israel has an affirmative duty to protect and defend its citizens and its borders. If the terrorist flotsam and jetsam in Gaza would not fire missiles and mortars into Israel, and plot massive acts of terror, then Israel would not have a need to respond. It is absurd to characterize this as an ethnic conflict -- that's almost irrelevant in this case. It is the rights of a sovereign state as opposed to the "rights" of a terrorist rabble sworn to the destruction of the State of Israel. the rights of a sovereign state are well-settled international convention. Terrorists do not have any "rights."

in the imbecilic view of #6, every death is equal to every other death. the death of the murderer is equivalent to that of his victim. one would have thought that this sort of infantile and sophmoric moralizing had been left in middle school. it is important to make distinctions based on circumstance or context. the gaza children are not murderers but they are used for cover by murderers and their proximity to murderers sometimes results in unintended injury or death to them. one has to be so morally and intellectually obtuse to confuse the cases that reason is unlikely to be of any help.
