1. I wish those people luck
Oleg ,   US   (03.22.12)
But they are absolutely right, the regime of those hujatollas destroyes their life and gives no way to escape. the only way is to get rid of those old scumbags. Shah was much better than those fanatics, who care about themselves only, with ideas from Midcenturies.
2. does not matter
Raymond Paz ,   China Macau   (03.22.12)
1. north korea still becomes nuclear even when the people are starting to eat dirt and dust. 2. shias believed in taqiyya. that is why sunnis dont believe their words. 3. Iranian government is determined to destroy zionist. and probably some wahhabi islam countries too for bonus points. I know what i am talking about, i am working as anti terror police unit in Xin Jiang, China.
3. Fascinating article, but I wonder how representative they r
Brian ,   Los Angeles USA   (03.22.12)
I speak with an Iranian girl on facebook sometimes, and she also told me everything over there has become much more expensive. However, I am curious what percentage of Iranians those interviewed in this article represent. How many of them are actually fanatical, and want to keep fighting until the bitter end? I hope they do revolt after Assad falls. Iranian people are nice, but the government is hell-bent.
4. I always believed that Iran is natural ally to Israel
leo ,   usa   (03.22.12)
in the sea of hostile Arabs and the moment Ayatollahs are gone everything will be back to the way it was 30+ years ago practically overnight.
5. Oh well, if Razi and Amir say so...I just stopped worrying!
tom ,   tel aviv   (03.22.12)
6. Iran and Israel should be allies
Somebody   (03.22.12)
It's the fanatical mullahs who have put the region in jeopardy. A fanatic killed innocents in Toulouse. Fanatics hijack planes and fly them into buildings. Violent religious fanatics are a worldwide plague. It would great to topple the Iranian regime without shedding the blood of civilians in Iran. Part of the problem is that the Russians and Chinese are prolonging the life of both the Syrian and Iranian regimes for their own economic interests.
7. iran
spookey ,   birmingham uk   (03.22.12)
i said on this blog a few days ago that sanctions were now hurting , and they will have to change course , just keep the screws on
8. Not surprising......
Koose E Mack ,   NY NY   (03.22.12)
Before the Ayatollahs took over Iran, there were warm relations between Iran and Israel. Most Iranians are Caucasians and not Arabs. Aside from that, Iran is a Mosaic of religions: Bahai, Zoroastrian, Christian, varying sects of Islam, Jewish...etc. I would think that the majority of Iranians would like nothing better than to rid themselves of the Ayatollah (Asshola) and Monkey Man and his dirt bag entourage!
9. Iran
Roxy ,   Israel   (03.22.12)
Under the late Shah Israel and Iran had very close ties, but the gov. in Iran wants the people there to forget about it
10. Iran - Has to go back to its Persian Roots.
Son Of Cyrus ,   UK   (03.22.12)
The Persian culture has always coexisted with other people and cultures, based on Zarathustra's Teachings - The Holy Trinity of Good Thoughts, Good Words and Good Deeds. Must discard and get rid of this current garbage. The sooner the better because unless and until this happens no hope for the great Persian People and Great Persian Heritage and Land.
11. Tell me something we DONT know
Tim ,   Brighton   (03.22.12)
Of course theres no axe to grind between ordinary Iranians and Israelis and the Jewish Community The whole Extremist Anti Israel Agenda has been contrived to justify turning over Irans Resources to the RG and Militarisation to make a few thousand families wealthy beyond their wildest dreams Whilst pursuing the White Elephant of Nuclear Enrichment that will have squandered $60bn of hard earned wealth....for a few nuclear rods? And creating enemies where none existed by their wild threats and shocking rhetoric...to divert attention from their dire and inept mismanagement of the country They cant be trusted to tell the truth, to act responsibly, to act morally or to act logically And their actions have put at risk the economic and social well being and future of the entire global community
12. WELL DONE YNET
Ehai ,   London. UK.   (03.22.12)
Well done on this report Ynet. This is the kind of stuff we need. We don't know how little or how big our friends are in Iran but it is certainly encouraging news to find some. Now please Ynet, can we have some statitical data on the effect of the sanctions?
13. You Have To Feel For The Iranians!
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville USA   (03.23.12)
Just imagine what it would be like to be terrorized by The Supreme Liar and his Mad Mullahs. A theocratic dictatorship? There is nothing worse.
14. but obama, the idiot, doesn't want
(03.23.12)
SYRIA TO FALL. he is doing everything that bashar will stay in power. everything, not realizing that once syria falls, iran's population will start the uprising. the idiot in the white house is a moron. he kicked out our ally, mubarack of egypt, but shows so such plan for assad.
15. Wrong strategy
Harvey ,   London   (03.23.12)
If the West wanted to bring this madness to a speedy conclusion , all they need to do is buy off the army and the Praetorian Guard boys . A billion dollars . Half a Billion up front to wipe out the Ayotollahs , dismantle the nuclear programme and bring in sweeping reforms . Quarter billion when it's done and a quarter 5 years down the line provided everything is still on track . Job done . Where's my nobel peace prize ?
16. This is true
Rick ,   Asia   (03.23.12)
I've spoken to a lot of Iranian expats living here and I can tell you that they all share the same view towards Israel and the US. They love Tel Aviv's carefree lifestyle (as they see it) and they all want to move to the United States. Haha.
17. Sanctions failed !
Faizal Hamdour   (03.23.12)
Obama's much trumpeted sanctions against Iran have failed miserably ! Countries like India, China, Korea, Azerbaijan, Pakistan are all actively helping Iran easily bypass the half-hearted sanctions efforts. Successful use of barter system, routing payment thru tax-havens, smuggling oil & goods across border etc....all effectively nullifying the half-hearted sanctions attempts. Obama is a liar & wimp, only interested in his re-election. Only fools believe him. Sanctions EPIC FAIL !
18. Not the correct picture
Frank Hart   (03.23.12)
Not the correct picture, the person interviewed is a regime hater. The actual picture is that sanctions are not really working because some countries are actively helping Iran evade sanctions. Sanctions are just an eyewash by the Obama regime to prevent an Israeli attack which will make him to lose the elections. Its better Israel attacks immediately rather than listening to hot-air from Obama.
19. wishful thinking !
Mansour Khakpour ,   Tehran   (03.23.12)
Sorry, thats wishful thinking ! The situation in Iran is that the sanctions are having some effect on imported luxury items, but on most commodities & essentials the prices are stable. The government is able to receive payments through tax havens & trade through barter & cross-border smuggling with friendly countries easily. Thus hoping the regime will collapse is quite far-fetched !
20. #15 Agree with your post, but
Iranian Jew ,   Los Angeles   (03.23.12)
The same people that brought on the towel heads will be taking them down. How can you trust them again. They will turn around and back stab you right after they get paid. Your solution is like a band aid on an internal bleeding. Unfortunately, the only ones that can help Iranians are middle class Iranians that do not directly get paid from the system. They are not much because the regime has 60% or so of the population on their payroll. Iran is doomed. Let's just face it.
21. India helping Iran evade
James Mack   (03.23.12)
India is one of the main countries helping Iran evade sanctions. India is scheming double-crosser that is chummy with both Israel & Iran simultaneously. Tries to milk the best deals from both countries....oil from Iran and high-tech weapons from Israel. Don't trust the Indians a wink !
22. Islam destroys everything humane: but they voted for it
Ezra ,   USA   (03.23.12)
I don't feel sorry for these people as much as I'd like to: they were the "revolutionaries" that intended to show the world the "wonders" if Islam and it's "just and moral" ways. Well, they got Islam but just and moral? LOL! Guess they don't know their own religion. Iran is Persian: the Persians must rise up against the Muslim fanatics and wipe them out once and for all. If not, Iran is in for a horrible and tragic end with massive civilian casualties. It's up to the people themselves. If they can't do it or are to cowardly, well, they'll have to deal with the consequences. Every other free nation spent a ton of blood for it: that's the price of freedom. They want to be like the west; then they'll have to act like western revolutionaries and not cowering children. May they destroy the Islamic regime and separate church and state and thrive.
23. reminds one that there are good people there
rick ,   walnut creek   (03.23.12)
there are good people there. but, it is hard to know what percentage of the population they are. the regime still commands considerable loyalty and, one imagines, that part of that loyalty is based on ideology, religion, and self-interest and not just corruption.
24. #14 CALM DOWN !
moshe ,   Tivon, Israel   (03.23.12)
Mubarack was NOT our ally ! Mubarack was the best bet Israel could make, but certainly NOT Israel's ally. Obama has a lot on his plate, which makes Israel NOT so important to him. By the way its STUPID of you to call Obama names he certainly isn't "stupid" Calm down. moshe
25. # 15 reminder
Iranian Jew ,   Los Angeles   (03.23.12)
The towel boys own every branch and national business that there are. No one beside the government can own a phone company or TV station or any powerful media outlet. The opposition are just powerless & frankly are not willing to die for their cause as much as the fanatic boys are. Also, the regime knows how to shut down the opposition from inside very well. Changing Iran is just not that easy. A huge plan needs to be drafted and all Europe needs to be in it or it will fail.
26. let iran serve as a warning
oferdesade ,   israel   (03.23.12)
take your rabbis with a grain of salt (a great big rock thereof, rather). and for anyone who says: yes, but before that they had the shah. we have bibi. have you stopped rotfihl?
27. all iranian support nuclear project
inconito   (03.23.12)
it is no secret that the Iranian people are more or less pro-Western to a certain point. provided this has nothing even with the nuclear program. to this day I never found one that refutes the Iranian the national nuclear program. and all the Iranians I know positively considered an Iranian bomb.
28. I keep saying sanctions work
shaun green ,   pasadena usa   (03.23.12)
A war would unite these people against us. Peace will be the undoing of their government. Their war must come from within. At which point I wouldn't mind selling them guns.
29. Yes, that's the flip side of the coin, #23
Cameron ,   USA   (03.24.12)
The urban youth may be bridling under the mullahs, but they are only one portion of the Persian whole. That regime will not go down without a true blood fight. A fantasy to imagine they will topple over & collapse as did the Shah.
