31. To Bibi: Annex, Annex, Annex
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (03.22.12)
Meanwhile back in Syria, the bloodshed goes on unaffected by the EU, Arab League or UN.With Russia/China an automatic veto of anything the US wants, these nations can do what they please, to their own, and neighbors. The key here is what the world will do..and so far, its nothing (Syira/Iran)/ Libya had 6m people in a very large country..and was not on the Arab Leagues list of nice guys. So Moammar was defeated by NATO. And what will the UN attempt with Israel? Will it enforce its findings, using what troops? While Muslim countries burn, Israel is condemned. From the dispute over Orient House, to E. Jerusalem, to the Pales attempts at the UN to this..the Palestininas have a strategy, while Israel debates among its leaders, with conflicting views. to Israel: just anne the settlements (major) and let the UN probe the empty land adjacent. Are you listening: annex, annex, annex.. and call up your reservists. Israel is willing to discuss everything, but will not accept extortion...the Palestinian tactic lately.
32. #8: Becuase Abu Mazen wants it Judenrein!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (03.22.12)
Please meet Adolf Abbas!
33. Arab settlers....few people know about them
Danny ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (03.22.12)
It is frustrating that when one thinks of "settlers" they think only of Israel...as if that was the only example at present. If one looks at the Arab world, Arab settlers have been sent by governments into ethnic minority areas for decades......just noone cares. Arab settlements in northern Iraq offsetting Kurdish populations, in northern Syria against the Kurds, Sudan against black Africans, not to mention every north African state against Berbers and other indigenous peoples. O ya....Muslim Turkey in the east and in north cyprus.
34. I am sure that they will be given,...
Gideon Reader   (03.22.12)
...loads and loads of warmth and cooperation. I know I would welcome a proven hostile entity with infinite grace and cooperation. And when you are finished swallowing that, I have this bridge over the great inland sea just outside of Afula that I can let you have at a greatly reduced price. A bent Agorot says Yariv the Lardbutt and the other rabid lefties are drooling over this. Early impotence to be upon them. What? Too late for that wish? Rats!!!
35. Foregone conclusion
Ed ,   USA   (03.22.12)
Why bother with the investigation when the UN chief has already blamed Israel for Palestinian violence? With Syria massacring its own people, the UN Human Rights Council springs into action! The only surprise is that it did not link the settlements to the Assad massacre.
36. UN
David ,   Germany   (03.22.12)
Anyone want to guess what the outcome will be? The UN is a garbage dump!
37. It's time to tell the world, all of Israel is ours.
USA   (03.22.12)
Whatever the case is the state of Israel will never relinquish its claim to Judea and Samaria and or recognize any one's sovergnity there other than our own. UN will come and disappear into nothingness.
38. #29 but...
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (03.22.12)
They already have a state - it has 77.5% of the land that belongs to us and yet they demand more. Which according to the UN Charter they have no legal claim to. They are Jordanian citizens and are illegally occupying our lands.
39. a dangerous policy
Galut ia ,   Selah   (03.22.12)
Quote: ," the resolution also calls on Israel to "take and implement serious measures" such as confiscating arms to prevent acts of violence by Israeli settlers." ==== a policy that opens the door to many tragedies like the Fogels .... since they will become easy defenseless targets for palestinian terror units .
40. #38 But if that's the case...
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (03.22.12)
...why haven't a single Israeli prime minister (regardless of whether it's Netanyahu, Barak, Sharon or someone else) had the guts to say that? Golda Meir said "There is no Palestinian people", but after that no one has dared express something similar. Why has that position changed? Why?? It would've been so much easier...
41. To: No. 29
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.22.12)
Israel's position has always been that the true Palestinians are the Jewish people, and that the ersatz "Palestinians" did not define themselves as "Palestinians" until 1965. They are not indigenous to the region; the Jews, on the other hand, are. Our history goes back nearly six thousand years -- it does not matter how long many of us have had to live in exile. It is still our country, and although we were more than willing to live peacefully side-by-side with the Arabs, they have indicated that they have no interest in so doing. Six wars and seven decades of terror have been more than enough, don't you think?
42. keep them out. we have no obligation to this immoral bunch
ralph   (03.22.12)
of barbarians.
43. have to show they are busy doing something. cannot go to syr
ralph   (03.22.12)
syria. might get killed there. while in israel pals will throw a party and israel will bend over backwards to prove we are nice guys. grow up. throw these bums in the sea if they dare enter israel. better still. tell them if they come we will pack them in a car and drive them to the syrian border. even smuggle them across and leave them there.
44. Living Proof--the UN is for sale
Baruch ,   San Antonio, TX: USA   (03.22.12)
The UN is for sale. Not to the highest bidder but to the person or group that can help it from ever taking a stand that will lead to progress and solutions. That the Human Rights Councel would even entertain the notion is proof that the anti Israeli anti Jewish sentiment so well expressed by NPR's Lourdes Garcia-Navarro is the product of irresponsible governemnts such as Iran, Mexico, and Venezuela which seek to convince the world that Jews are the source of all evil. Let's put it this way would you send your child to universities in Caracas, Juarez, and Qum or would you send your child to Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, and Jersualem? Do you want your children to sit and wait for a future in one of these countries that supports The Irainian-Palestinian alliance or would you want them to join a healthy, dynamic, and vibrant society with a future such as we have in Israel? We probaly can not silence this nonsense, but we certainly do not need to be distracted by it either. עם ישראל חי
45. Let'em, we'll veto anything designed against you.
leo ,   usa   (03.22.12)
46. It certainly wont be the first (resolution)
jerusalem   (03.22.12)
lol @ PM's statement-hypocrite is as hypocrite does. No surprise on US's vote against, as usual. Even funny their explanation regarding their vote. There will not be negotiations, nor is there (nor was there), not to mention will there be efforts to' promote a just and lasting peace' as long as it gives israel the free ticket. Interesting resolution this one's become. Time will tell if it will end up like the rest. lol nitanyahu admits the numbers! When you dont comply with international standards (for 39 decisions), you should be treated like Iran (which has 38 less)! Oh my, and he has the guts to say who is and isnt detached from reality, this guy's a hoot! I dont know about him, but the history of Israel and its actions far exceed what measly lil old Hamas advocate for. Actions speak louder than words.
47. (29) Gunnar
tiki ,   belgium   (03.22.12)
Israel has 'said & recognized, but not written and THAT's the only thing what counts. Israel has 'said & recognized, but ONLY if the so called Palestinians recognize Israel & stop terror, which they havn't. So it's only words and no paper to confirm it. Gunnar, if this is your argumentation.....try again, it stinks.
48. to gunnar @ 10
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (03.23.12)
You and your protegees with all their councils are wrong, gunnar... Not only Judea and Samaria is the land the ancient land of the Jewish people, but We have dliberated as well the so-called WB during wars, waged on us by Jordan, Egypt and the Islamic terror organizations...And as you know, to the Victor, go the spoils...Your brilliant proverb about two wrongs....does not apply here...On the other hand, when I thinnk of UN, it may be does...: UN Security Council focusing on Syria, Iran and North Korea ? Those are the two wrongs, who can only cause a disaster..

50. Settlers doing Great!
shrinkDave ,   Miami United States   (03.23.12)
In the middle east, whoever has the biggest muscles controls the land. That holds in every single country, emirate, tribe, or caliphate. Here's the deal: if you want the land, come and get it. If you can take it, it's yours. Otherwise, shut up, make peace, and join the 21st Century.
51. The Holywar Racket Council

52. Only one way to deal with this council
Nathanael ,   Auckland   (03.23.12)
Drop a big bucket of SH** on their heads one by one. No words are to harsh to describe such a horde of hypocrites!
53. Syria Has Ignored the Entire World
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (03.23.12)
Golda pleaded with jordan not to enter the fray, started by 100,000 Egyptians and more going to aid Syrias front. They shelled Israel and people were killed, buildings destroyed. Several wars later, they still think they are entitled to ALL o the W Bk and Jerusalem..one way or another. This is but another tactic. The Goldstones are still out there. Nothing Israel does will satisfy them. The US gave its okay for the major settlement annexation under Bush. Demographic arguments should be considered, but also security ( primary). The UN, as in Syria is impotent, when a country ignores it. And what will the council do?
54. Another council another sanction DUH RIGHT ???
M.S. ,   mpls america   (03.23.12)
I realize anti Israel sanctions seem to be so identicial but they have no military backing to them luckily thus have no more value than a counterfeit dollar RIGHT alas all those who like to condemn sanction Isreael get togather form councils and go at it luckily though there are some who reason like America sanctions are part of life these people are really Nazis pretending to be diplomats they want to wipe Israel off the map as do most Arabs luckily there bark is no not their bite i have no bark no bite I am not a dog any way such is life how Israel lives with these counterfeit sanctions is its own business still I think Israel needs a war with Syria although like the sanctions you Jews Israelis do no not see why I think this in 1973 there was a war to retake the Suez Canal losing the war meant nothing to the Arabs Nazis they still got back the Suez Canal by negociations then all of the Sinai Syria has no desire to try to do the same thinks there is no comparision to the Suez Canal Israel sees no need for a war with Syria as far as Iran goes again how far may Jews Israel go what is in their own best interests 1973 showed proved the need for precise timing days hour seconds the time the calendar mean so much to America again the bark bite principle that America runs on that Israel needs to learn to run on too much private money no not enough organization unity money this is the trick you Jews Israel need learn vast experience has taught me what words like Nazi Zionist really mean catch on any way another sanction still running on the idea Israel itself is a illegal country illegal race Golda Mier I R Israel I R illegal race catch on we are unique the world likes to think of us as a the illegal race thus in W W II we had no rights thus six 6 million died 48 56 67 73 we still are the illegal race you need learn to look at war with Syria that way the future that way catch on SALT TWIST QUIRK you need understand what TWISTS QUIRKS are to life like this illegal race twist quirk before you can build a Israel correctly make history correctly 3 22 tomorow Friday 3 23 2012 sound like this calendar shows TWISTS QUIRKS to life to why Jews Israel are regarded as a illegal race catch on RIGHT ??? Thank You... M. S.

cristian ,   argentina   (03.23.12)
how many wars have they stopped? none, the place to talk and gossips without actions, massacres in the middle east and ban ki moon, from his plush office, probably taking coffe, his secretary brings him every day, chat his friends, says he disagrees with the killings and? anything changes? nothing but bureaucratic annual meetings never made specific changes but if negotiated and travel,to worship their vanities of power,in vain
56. Actually. I welcome this
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.23.12)
It will be a mirror for ourselves to see how we appear to others. I'm sure we are not behaving in an expemplary manner and we need to be reminded that we share this world with others. No man, woman or nation is an island.
57. I invite you
daniela ,   panama   (03.23.12)
all to write you view of this absurd situation at the UN Human Rights site The site: http://www.un.org/en/contactus/ Let them know what we think.. maybe they¨ll get ashamed, or maybe they will trow away our emails even before reading them. But it is worth a try...
58. #10 Get Over It
D ,   Australia   (03.23.12)
Gunnar, you are wrong wrong wrong. The UN Human Rights Council should be focussing ONLY on Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iran, China, North Korea, Cuba, and add to the mix other truly apartheid countries like Malaysia, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey and more. Can you honestly sit there in Gothenburg passing judgement on some people choosing to live on the West Bank? I am from a lineage of people who are Jewish AND Palestinian - YES, Palestinian. How on earth do people like you conclude that a Jew cannot be a Palestinian when we have that lineage. What are you truly saying? Do you understand the implications? Jews are now forced to leave Europe in droves because they are in danger. Where should they go? If Israelis (Jews) choose to live in the West Bank, so be it. You and the UN should get over it.

Dmitriy ,   Chicago, USA   (03.23.12)
While further discussion of this is unnecessary, I wanted to bring some historic facts into this conversation. While I won't dive into overwhelming amounts of archaeological evidence, proving existence of Israel as Jewish country thousands of years ago, I'll discuss the more recent events: • 1917 Until 1917 the Ottoman Empire (present day Turks) occupied the entire region (for a duration of 500 years). Having lost in World War I, the ottomans relinquished their control to the allied forces (Britain, France...). The allied forces split the region into parts (with the intention of making it difficult for the ottoman to regain control). At this point Britain, recognizing Jewish historical ownership of Israel, has decided to give Jews a small part of the land, roughly .5%; this land was 4 times the size of what Israel is today. • 1947 The British mandate ended, and in 1947 the same United Nations General assembly passed resolution 181, to partition the land into 2 states (Jewish and Arab). Jews accepted the resolution and in 1948 established the state of Israel, while the Arabs went to war. Consequently, a cease fire line was formed (depicting what people today refer to as the 1967 border). Arabs refused to accept the line as a border, moreover, they refused to accept the Jewish state (meaning, the resolution was thrown away). • 1967 In 1967 yet another war erupted as Israel was attacked from each side. In conclusion of the war Israel stayed in the west bank territory. Since the territory was not occupied by any sovereign party (not to mention one that was internationally accepted), the land could not, and still cannot, be considered as “occupied”. At the very best, one could say that the land is “disputed”. As to the terms “Palestine” and “Palestinian”, was there ever an Arab nation or state by that name??
60. HRW "Orders"..?? LOL! Try 2 fill THAT order u idiots!
