31. #13 You must be a VERY NEW immigrant and don't know anything
Netanya ,   Netanya   (03.25.12)
I also was a left winger, but after living in Israel for about 10 yrs understood that the peace with palis has nothing to do with land, they want to kill us! Land will not change this fact! If land would make a difference, then Gaza would not be a terror training camp, but a beautiful, great economy. The blame is on one side, Israel did not decide to put loads of rockets and tunnels into Gaza and in fact, left Gaza with lots of greenhouses (which the palis burnt, to build terror camps.) Ex-left winger
32. kol hakavod chaver Oz!
avramele   (03.25.12)
The proof that Oz and J Street have standing in an honest debate among Jews is the brevity of the talkbacks to this article. What you cannot refute with reasoned arguments you attack with epithets. Oz, Grossman, ben gurion and Rabin speak for my zionism-right wing post zionist religious messianists who reject compromise, democratic values and tolerance do not.
33. #12 ex-UK
David N ,   Haifa, ISRAEL   (03.25.12)
Afraid to speak out because of the right? Where do you live? I have never seen anything like a "fear" to speak out by a silent majority. I do hear lots of vigourous debates and arguments from all sides. But my working class Haifa neighbourhood is probably near 100% distrustful of "peace" proccesses, Ashkenazi pseudo-intellectuals, and placard-waving brats from Ramat Aviv Gimmel. Two-state solution? Where I live we see Israel, Jordan (eatern Palestine), and the various Palestinian enclaves in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. Another state would manek THREE, not two...
34. #32 Avramele "your zionism" is anti-zionism: Neturei Karta?
(03.25.12)
Is that you, Avramele, in those pictures with you arm around Ahmedinejad? ...and surely you jest. ISRAELIS afraid to open their mouths and speak their mind? You got the wrong country, bubba. ...and J Street is irrelevant. It's about Jews who are ashamed of an Israel that stands up for itself: "Gosh, all this media attention is so negative and they think all of us Jews agree. We must disassociate ourselves loudly so we won't be put on the cattle-car" Kappos.
35. ref article from Amos Oz.
vivian ,   boca raton, fl   (03.25.12)
It is terrible the way some jews love Israel. They are the worst enenmy of the Jewish people. Go and learn Torah, Zohar, Prophets. Then come an be against your brothers. Learn History and listen the video from Ayalon to learn about your loving people. Hamas and PA. (all criminals). Ask God to open your eyes before is too late. You belong with all respect to the /Erev Rav. You are not helping ISRAEL IN ANY WAY , YOU ARE HELPING TO DESTROY IT.
36. @#34
Avramele   (03.25.12)
Thank you for proving my point. Your logic is impeccable.
37. What would Moses and Joshua Say?
Galut ia ,   Selah   (03.25.12)
Suspect these folks haven't a clue !
38. Did J Street say even one word about
Reuven   (03.26.12)
last week's massacre of a rabbi and three children, in France, by an Arab terrorist?
39. Left wing US Jews NOT good for Israel
Temporarily in Galut ,   US   (03.26.12)
They'll never make Aliyah, won't contribute to Israeli security or welfare, probably never visited Israel or ever will and are loathe of their own culture. Such arm chair Jews have no say about Israel: they're typical American activists: big mouths, no substance or brains. They just want a fraternity to belong to because they're ideals are so idiotic. Welcome to "j-street". American idiots, nothing else.
40. Zero
Dov Glass ,   TA IL   (03.26.12)
J Street is the biggest zero organization ever to exist. Aside from annoying members of the real pro-israel community, j street has zero influence on policy and politicians.
41. #12/13 exUK -- Please see #34: aside from the first sentence
(03.26.12)
that was addressed to your TB. Don't you feel special? Here, I'll just copy n' paste: Surely you jest. ISRAELIS afraid to open their mouths and speak their minds? You got the wrong country, bubba. ...and J Street IS irrelevant. It's about Jews who are ashamed of an Israel that stands up for itself: "Gosh, all this media attention is so negative and they think all of us Jews agree. We must disassociate ourselves loudly so we won't be put on the cattle-car" Kappos.

solomon ,   bklyn   (03.26.12)
You ignore the reasoned arguments you disagree with, but they are here. What you cannot refute you ignore. And your own post ends in epithets. And you expect us to take you seriously?!
43. #12 nazi
shaya ,   w.o.nj   (03.26.12)
yes, #12 just what we expect of a j-street supporter, to compare Israel to Nazi Germany, with Jews like you israel does not need any more enemies.
44. #29 I think the same, I feel the same
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (03.27.12)
Amos Oz's position on Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the same for decades. Nothing new for the audience, only serious media attention for the J Street Conference, because Oz is a great name. Media (not only in Israel) is caught of the bait of organizers. I do not agree with the position of Amos Oz (especially for the separation of Jerusalem), but I understand - the man just wants peace and in his opinion this is the way. I know there's no way he can read our posts, but I would not allow myself to rate him and I cannot tell him what to think and talk - he is much, much smarter than me. I love his writings. Who has read his deeply emotional works (books and publicisity) and interviews, felt that the author is an intelligent man who loves his country. #all - Amos Oz is not a politician, don’t hate him
