1. Will a Jewish and Greek aliance work
David ,   USA   (04.08.12)
Now that Turkey has exposed itself as just another terrorist state that supports Syria and Iran. Israel is more isolated than ever and I hope that Greeks and Jews will form a new alliance. Also it appears that Cyprus and Israel have really improved relations. What do u think.
2. Unwise to cooperate with Greece
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (04.08.12)
I would strongly advice Israel against seeking cooperation with Greece. The Greeks are under the impression that money is something that rains down from the sky. It is a people that doesn't understand that you have to work and actually PAY TAXES for a society to work.

Israel is developing close relations with Cyprus partly because of the gas and also because neither side likes Turkey much. Greece also doesn't like Turkey, the majority of the population of Cyprus are Greek and unlike Turkey Greece is not an Islamic state so it has no sense of having to show solidarity to the rest of the Islamic world. Right now Greece is also broke and when your broke you don't have time to play petty politics. If Israelis are looking for bargins from Greece the Israeli navy should see if they can take some good quality warships out of Greek hands for cheap. I don't see the IDF offering the navy to buy any decent but much needed new ships considering the navy has always been the under funded & unappreciated arm of the IDF. The Israeli government should also look into the idea of some kind of Israeli airbase or sharing of a Greek base because it would allow the IAF t station some of its planes abroad to be recalled if there was a 1967 type situation and most of Israel's airforce was destroyed on the ground because runways were bombed. It would also allow Israel to operate well beyond its own borders.

The Arab world is blowing up. I think Israel being isolated is a good thing.
8. Hey man, read your facts better. The IAF was not ......
Ari ,   Jerusalem   (04.09.12)
Destory in 1967. It was the Arab airforces who were hit on the ground by the IAF on the first day of the war. They were caught by surprise. In those days the Media was consecuent and responsible. They were discreet and patriotic. The airforces of Syria,Egipt,Libia,Jordan and I also think part of Irak'a Air force, were hit in a few hours. Precisely because of this, the victory was swift. The surprise factor.

the war ships, Greece has used to defeat the persians at the battle of salamis at 480 BCA,those war ships have proven themselves,Israel will use them against the same enemy,Israel doesn't have to buy or lease bases in Greece, the entire country is for sale, any takers ?.the happy winer at the auction, will have to feed 10 million spoiled and lazy greeks,Greece is a very poor country,it possesses only olive oil and ancient ruins,no intelect.
12. They cannot exit what they don't have
Miron ,   USA   (04.10.12)
They were invited into economy where the businessman, the one selling falafel, gets the credit and pays it back. What they are forced to do is a few honchos given credit for falafel and the falafel man must give up his product for free. And in lei of this falafel man's neck they are being staked to give up there oil industry, now. They have to leave this spend - "onomy" because nobody, I repeat, NOBODY in this world will print money for the Greek falafel man to run his business, except a very brave Greek guy they would be very very lucky to find around. Israel is doing a very brave thing standing up for Greeks. Let's hope they don't turn on Israelis. Let's hope all this for good. In my own experience even the very best intentions rarely end well. More like the ominous reminders, no good deed ends unpunished. In other words I am very concerned about the Greek people suffering. And even more how this hardship and Israeli help and our nations history and all that will go on in very near future.
