Turkey is in no position to do any such thing. Besides, most of your countrymen favor peace with Israel rather than war. You are certainly in the stupid minority.

Pragmatic, prudent, wise steps in the right direction. Carry on. Not as sexy as joint GR/IS/US military exercise "Noble Dina" though! The Turks must be fuming...

"We believe that exporting Israeli natural gas to our neighbors will promote trust that could promote regional peace," Israel currently exports water, electricity and fuel to Gaza, water to the PA and Jordan. Has it promoted regional peace? Then why should exporting Israel's natural gas bring better results? The only thing it'll do is end Israel's reliance on Egyptian gas.

This gas isn't going to do a damn thing to help bring regional stability, if anything its going to create more instability. Hezbollah claim that the gas fields are at least partly in Lebanese waters because they don't recognise Israel's maritime borders and have said they will not let Israel steal Lebanon's gas. So basically once we start pumping gas we should prepare for Lebanon 3. I imagine once we start pumping the palestinians will try lay claim to the gas and no doubt the now broke Syria will want their share. This gas will be good for relations with Greece & Cyprus who Israel doesn't need to make peace with anyway but with the arabs its only going to increase hostility We also need to worry about is the peaceniks demanding we share the gas with everybody in the name of peace.
