A rocket attack on Eilat is an act of war, so where is the airstrike on the Hamas leadership? Or will this be more of Barak's face-saving bombing of "smuggling tunnels", which is having no results. Israel needs to bring back daily drone strikes on Gaza hitting anything Hamas, and generating a body count in the dozens which the US used to wildly criticize, but which the US now uses themselves every week on Taliban and Alqaidah, including inside Pakistan and Yemen, whether the regimes there like it or not, killing dozens, despite no rockets ever falling on the US . America would never tolerate rocket attacks on its cities anywhere.. And thats why it never happens. Does he think Obama is fool enough to criticise Israel for what he himself is doing? US can zap terrorists inside Pak, Israel can zap terrorists inside Sinai. If Obama doesn't want that, he can pay for a dozen Iron Dome batteries protecting Eilat, and deduct the cost from Egypt's military aid.

Israel is not foolish enough (regardless of the Livni's and Mofaz's) Not to have a long-term goal of gathering landslide evidence against all anti-Israel parties, including the Pals, which it will be able to unleash in a pre-cursor to a massive ground assault on Gaza, Hezbollah and even within Judea and Samaria. Its not so simple to please everyone, but just take a look at the ABSURD accusations being tossed at Israel and you'll see that the anti-Israeli/Ant-Semite crowd have been grasping at straws in another reality: they have NOTHING...NOTHING on Israel. It doesn't matter that the squeaky wheels keep screeching: Israel has crushed them with truth so now all they have are inflated exaggerations and lies to go on. It was and is a brilliant strategy and HAS worked incredibly well considering the outlandish propaganda being leveled at Israel and the Jews by so many haters. In the end, Israel will always prevail: it is our survival, not just an ideology. Survival and wisdom always trump emotions and fanatic ideologies. Wait and see; Israel has a long term goal in mind and it will be realized since it is obvious the arabs should and can never be trusted, period. Chag Sameach!

What's the point of striking Hezbollah when they're just going to re-arm after the conflict? If Hezbollah attacks, the IDF should completely eliminate the Syrian military before venturing into Lebanon. Cut off the supplier first and then watch how Nasrallah shuts up like a good little kid... Assuming Israel hits Iran, Hez/Hamas, then what? Its easy to get into a major war, but what is its exist strategy?. Hez/Hamas will open its poker hand..and start launching missiles. Iran may send a few Shihabs, with b/c warheads. Perhaps fire a few shells into Israel from the sea. It has cruise type missiles and can bombard the coast. Will it send troops/tanks to the border, through Syria. Lebanon, Jordan. Is Israel planning a short/long war? The Arabs will cry collateral damage and excessive to every world group. Turkey wll threatend. Egypt may send soldiers to the Sinai border. Israel is playing chess with its enemies...and this is but the latest meaningless threat. Bibi is NOT Begin, or Shamir, or Golda or Ben Gurion. He is Bibi, all mouth and no bark. The way you stop terrorism is to hit the terrorists hard..hurt them. Make them cower and beg to surrender. If Mecca and Medina is destroyed, do you know what that means? It means that the Islamic version of "allah" does not exist —why would any real allah allow their "holiest" places to be destroyed by nukes? It means that they will have nowhere to face and bow down to pray to. It means eventually the end of Islam. Unlike Judaism and Christianity who don't need "idols" to worship, taking out those two Islamic city "idols" will mean the end of Islam.

What you say is legally correct; however, the chances, for the time being, that Israel will act in Sinai are nil, for fear--for better or worse--of cutting the slender threads by which the peace treaty still hangs. Hence Gantz's warning about hitting Hamas elsewhere; he knows we're not going to act in Sinai.

Israel needs to melt their hearts away. Iran will have no chance against Israel, let alone Egypt. Russians and Chinese to the rescue? I doubt it. They too will loose against Israel. The Russians know it...they already did.

Because after you attack these various groups, they're just going to sit there and take it. And the world, especially the UNSC (with the power to sanction Israel and indict Israeli leaders) will not do a thing. Go down this route and I give Israel 10 years. But you're used to not having a state, so it shouldn't be that big a deal when you're all fleeing by plane/boat/whatever in a decade or so.
