1. YISRAEL
cristian ,   bs as arg   (04.10.12)
the support afforded to yisrael is based on a solid understanding of the lord´s word, all nations of the earth were created by men but the lord himself established the borders of the nation of yisrael, the lord gave to avraham, isaac and yaakov a covenant of land whose effect is eternal and this covenant is established in genesis, the lord also told avraham that he would make his descendants a great nation and it bless through him to all the nations of the earth, the lord says that anyone who curse you would be cursed and anyone blessing would be blessed that is all what i need to bless and defend the right of yisrael exist,i do not want to be cursed by the lord!
2. Suffering
Carl van Zijll de Jo ,   Lincoln, NZ   (04.10.12)
Judaism will never unite the people of Israel. Are we still ignorant by not seeing that the only way the God of Israel make the people of Israel become united is by her suffering in the days to come. Have you forgotten why we are looking forward to the Messaih!
3. Tell it to the euorpean Jewry. 'Nuff Said.
EZRA THE PROUD JEW ,   USA-ISRAEL   (04.10.12)
4. With all due respect
Larry ,   Raanana   (04.10.12)
Tell this to the Haredim who do everything to destroy Judaism and alienate the very people who feed them. Yes I am angry.
5. Good article! Chag sameach!! Am Yisrael Echad, Olam Echad.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (04.10.12)
6. So many walls in Judaism, can't tell the differences!
Edithann ,   USA   (04.10.12)
Walls between Jews,Ethiopean Jews, Israeii's, Zionists, Seculars, Haredi, Palestinians, and all points East and West...What's the matter with you? You can't even get along with yourselves...and you're supposedly related to have the world!! Tsk, tsk, tsk... TATA
7. I for one, wouldn't invite the Herbrew god to my Seder!
tom ,   tel aviv   (04.10.12)
Are you nuts?! Religion as uniting factor? Maybe, but only as surrogate lobotomy for all Am Ysruel.... Trust me , nobody would've liked a dinner guest as small-minded, capricious, jealous, vindictive, un-reliable, bloodthirsty as our "desert-god" (to quote Pat Codell)
8. Putting The Cart In Front Of The Horse
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (04.10.12)
B"H - Hartman, you put the cart in front of the horse and you know it. What is worst that you do it for your declared political purposes. Jewish slaves desecrating the mighty Egyptians' god and using its blood to sign their own doorways is precisely a huge act of trusting our G-d, Hashem, a trust you and your Institute places in the State today. Of course you are not only wrong, you are very wrong and the people who publish your distorted thought-process are sharing your responsibility.
9. Peoplehood
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (04.10.12)
Where was peoplehood when the extreme Left imported and armed Arafat to attack the Zionists? Where was peoplehood in Gush Katif? Where was peoplehood in Amona? Where was the peoplehood when Leftists laughed when they saw Jewish children thrown out of their homes in the middle of the night by Sharon, Olmert and Netanyahu? Where was the peoplehood in Bet Hamachpela?
10. To: No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.10.12)
Idiotann, do you REALLY need me to recount for you all the ways in which the American people do not always agree with one another? Let's see .... we could, I suppose, start with the Revolutionary War, when tens of thousands of Loyalists were forced to flee to Canada. Shall we chat a bit about the American Civil War? How about the ongoing war against native Americans, and the non-stop land theft and heartless massacres of native Americans. We coud discuss Jim Crow laws and segregation. Shall we then move on to the Civil Rights movement? Of course, there was the anti-War movement during the Vietnam Era. Then, just to reprise, there was Wounded Knee. What's the matter with Anericans? You cannot even get along with yourselves! Careful, Idiotann. You live in a glass house. Don't throw stones, unless you want to wander about homeless in the street. Tsk, tsk. You are SUCH a fool! But I have such a great time humiliating you -- keep posting.
11. You are getting it from both sides Mr. Doniel Hartman
Michael ,   California, USA   (04.10.12)
What better lesson than this article to show you "peoplehood" with Orthodox religious has no chance? Derive some conclusions to yourself Mr. D.H., to save yourself equally worthless attempts in the future. Israelis can be united, but not as Jews. United Israelis have fought and won all the wars since the Zionist movement started defending itself in Eretz Israel. Come on, Doniel, write a reasonable article showing how united the secular Israelis are. Of course, Pesach is a fun festival to them in Israel, and to me. Ask g whether she is proud.
12. seems forum's main issue is religion or secular
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (04.10.12)
This parallel is absolutely meaningless. Just the times have changed. To abandon the passions generated by extreme viewpoints and to see that Hartman is right - compromises, tolerance, public dialogue, unity, positivism in the current democracy are a guarantee for unity in a society. Otherwise from "the different ingredients" instead of a great nation may be obtained explosive mixture. In a region with complicated interrelations (I mean the Middle East) nothing is clear and simple
