31. #27 Is this a Twerski line?

You need a drink.
32. Reform synagogues in Israel:
Julie ,   Israel   (04.14.12)
I was shocked to hear from my father that a female "rabbi" breast- fed her child while conducting a service in a "reform" synagogue. Wanting to give the "reform" synagogue the benefit of the doubt, I attended another reform service where I understood that, clearly, the only credentials the "rabbi"needed was an ability to play a guitar. It seems that Reform Judaism is for those who do not want Judaism to interfere with anything in their lives.
33. The sad fact
Taxpayer ,   Hod Hasharon   (04.14.12)
The sad fact reading the answers on this page is how a beautiful idea, the rebirth of the Jewish nation, a country built on equality and sacrifice for the greater good, where hard work was valued, where people measured themselves by their contribution, has been corrupted by the orthodox into something so ugly that even the Jews in the diaspora can no longer stomach it. The sad thing is that this ugly prejudice looks worse than Iran and is accelerating Israel's alienation - at present the bigots have the day - but their victory is phyrric - because they will end up with 100% of nothing, as their bigotry drives the secular out of Israel in increasing numbers - and their tragedy is that without the secular or liberals who they so despise, the economy will collapse - and as the Arab armies invade, and they stand in their masses praying at the enemy tanks to make them go away, they will discover that not only the world has been alienated by their corrupt bigotry, but so has their g-d.
34. More realistic
Joseph ,   London UK   (04.17.12)
When the Conservative youth group first complained I looked into the situation. A Sefer Torah can cost upwards from £10,000 and even one damaged letter makes the Sefer poseul/invalid. Therefore the hotel has one official rabbi in charge of services and reading from the Sefer. Groups, including Orthodox, who want to run their own service are required to arranged their own Sefer Torah as well. This appears to be the normal policy where hotels run their own services.
35. Israeli hotels
Sherlock Holmes ,   London UK   (04.18.12)
The simplest solution is for Conservative and Reform groups to book hotels close to Conservative and Reform shuls in Israel and join in their services. What? There aren't many Conservative and Reform temples in Israel? Most shuls in Israel, Britain, France and elsewhere are oficially Orthodox, even if most shuls in parts of the USA are not. So have a separate service for Shacharit and Musaf, but join the main shul for Kriat HaTorah.
36. Number 32. Reform Rabbis
Danny ,   London UK   (04.18.12)
It gets worse! Here in London the Lady Reform Rabbi who speaks for their movement publicly supports same sex marriage as a valid Jewish option. They used to reject the ritual law -- Shabbos, Kashrus, Mikveh -- but accept the 'moral Law'. Now they reject even the Torah's moral Law.
37. Israelis and Reform
Akiva ,   London UK   (04.19.12)
They seem to suggest that the kashrut authorities or the shomrim in the hotel kitchens won't allow Reform and Conservatives to use the hotels' Sifrei Torah. How do they explain that there are so few Reform and Conservative shuls, schools etc. among native Israelis? Could it just be that even secular Israelis are not interested in what Reform and Conservative have to offer?
