31. No.27 Danis, extremely "Jewish"
New Yorker ,   U.S.A.   (04.16.12)
Coming to a foreign country and engaging in a deliberate confrontation with a military officer in the line of duty should and will land you in trouble anywhere in the world, not just Israel. Foreign provocateurs should be treated with double harshness. There should be no place for niceties or politeness. Period. The IDF officer did the right thing.
32. Why is Barak allowing ISM to video military sites
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (04.16.12)
Even legitimate news organizations are banned from photographing military sites and disclosing their location and structure, certainly without permission andcertainly notwith live streaming video clipsto the internet. Why is Barak giving the ISM terrorist group, responsible for the deaths and injury of numerous Israelis, freedom to make video of whatever they like and stream itto YouTube? I can think of no better way to carry out detailed up-to-date recon of Israeli defenses against terrorist attacks and infiltration - better than a KH-11 satellite. This has to stop. ISM should be banned from the territories and Israel, and what ever happened to NO PHOTOGRAPHING SOLDIERS AND MILITARY INSTALLATIONS?
33. Protestor
Ron ,   NY,NY   (04.16.12)
Clearly Lt Col Eisner should have used the butt not the clip to slam him. That was more of a controlled push than anything. I have seen NYPD use more force! I support the Lt. Col. he should get a promotion if anything! Hey, a new career as an orthodontist? After a long period of being provoked and goaded the protestor got what he hoped for!!
34. Danish activitists
joel ,   usa   (04.16.12)
this danis activits should be put in jail and then deported, he has no business doing his [erona non grata activitism in Israel as a visitor, jail him, NOW!
35. From what I see one rifle butt defused entire situation.
leo ,   usa   (04.16.12)
I'd say this colonel deserves a medal for saving countless lives.
36. Watch how hard it will be to get the full video
William ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
ISM is already trying to edit it down to avoid the incriminating parts that indict their members. Fortunately, there's plenty of forensics technology to uncover that. Which is why you will see increasing cries from Leftists NGOs and Arabs about Israel and this soldier in order to avoid the truth from coming out. You can expect Peres to agree with them and condemn the IDF.
37. Danish Bacon
ray stuart ,   Zürich/Israel   (04.16.12)
This piece of Ham knew what he was doing when he came to Israel. A split lip is nothing compared to what he would have recieved if he had dared to protest in Syria ,Egypt, etc.. Col ha Cavod to Israel and the IDF
38. about Shalom Eisner
ef ,   us   (04.16.12)
look carefully in the end of the video. You can see Shalom Eisner's wounded finger. These activists must be arested.
39. Kol Hakavod is right
froike ,   NY NY   (04.16.12)
The Useful Idiots did not follow a lawful order to get back. In any other country, especially in the Islamic Caliphates, these misdirected youths would have been beaten and tortured, and with some luck, deported. Of course, if they attempted to protest in Syria, we know that they would be deported in body bags! In short, kol hakavod to IDF...give the Lt Col a medal for good conduct and an atta boy! He did right and should be rewarded not suspended. He should have hit that Danish Asshole twice; once to get his attention the second time to make sure he understood!
40. no detraction pls.
jerry1800   (04.16.12)
13:11Twelve killed across Syria in anti-government protests (Haaretz)
41. #13 - Didn't you hear about our massive gas field
William ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
Apparently, we will be making lots of money as well on the energy market. Oh hey - that's a shame though that the Trans-national pipeline from the Canadian oil sands field was voted down in the US, and the Canadian Indigenous people have blocked your pipeline towards the West Coast as it violates their land rights. You might not be making a lot of money any time soon but you can take your frustration out on your local Jewish shop keeper. You know, we're all the same. I will of course pass your frustration and condolences on to "Palestinians" whose children were used as human shields and killed by Arab terrorist actions. Wait. You have no condemnation or opinion on this?
42. Forget comparisons with Syria....
William ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
I've seen worse actions take place at Occupy Oakland (California) and WTO meetings. And never is anyone this concerned with an arrest or a busted lip by individuals who challenge police.
43. If the IDF is unable to act....
William ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
then it is up to us civilians to create a defense force, and in such a situation like this, rush in and kick their asses. The IDF won't be blamed and the ISM gets their just deserts. Question - why are ISM offices still open in West Bank?
44. #27 - it is the job of the IDF to maintain security
William ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
The protesters were given their time and place to protest. They attacked soldiers and they rushed to block a busy road. Try that in any Western country and you will not be met with flowers and candy. The IDF acted appropriately which will be proven when the unedited video is released. You demand a weak IDF that allows anyone, especially foreigners, to walk all over them. That's not the IDF I joined!
45. Sounds like France 2 with the Al-Durah libel
Carl ,   USA   (04.16.12)
The TV station fought mightily in Frence courts to prevent airing the full unedited video. When they finally did, the lie of the Al-Durah affair became obvious to all. Selective editing to change the story is slander.
46. ISM is a dangerous cancer!
Farhad ,   Iran   (04.16.12)
IDF should support the soldiers who protect Israel & should be given freedom of action + not these rabble -rousers who are endangering Israelis 24=hours a day.
47. Right hand corner of video, arabic symbol
meghan ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
Pallywood at its best again. I tip my hat to Lt Col Eisner, a brave and dedicated Israel officer who nothing but defend himself against being beaten with sticks. IDF JAG whoever, DO NOT ruin a good soldiers career because of a stupid idiotic so called activist who came seeking provocation. I am sure any other country this Dane would now be wallowing in a jail cell.
48. Headline is Wrong
George ,   Delaware   (04.16.12)
It is not propaganda. Anti-semites who "stand their ground" momentarily in the Land of Israel against the orders of the IDF, or alternatively, choose to sacrifice themself on the alter of a false god, get beaten. There is no propaganda here. This is true.
49. Shame on Bibi... Shame on Gantz
Arn ,   Yehud, Israel   (04.16.12)
Eisner is Israel's shield. Eisner is putting his life on the line every hour so that I can still call this my country. To all those who jumped on the bandwagon apologizing to the world I say - you are not for me... you are not for Israel... you are spineless and shameless with the moral consistency of the animals who would eat their own. Eisner is with me. You are not. Hide your faces in shame.
50. This criminal soldier will come to regret his actions
christianpalestinian ,   nyc   (04.16.12)
The teenager should immediately sue and escalate this issue to the international level.
51. RULES OF ENGAGEMENT - IST BREAK THEIR CAMERA
MO ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
Then anything else you like. These pieces of rubbish do NOT come in peace, they come looking for trouble they are the masters of incitement and need to be PUT DOWN, hard and fast!!! Eisner your only fault was getting filmed!!
52. a camera is a weapon & sometimes more leathal than a gun
tiki ,   belgium   (04.16.12)
If that's the case, than why send young people to the army. Just present every citizen of Israel with a camera and her enemies won't have a chance. Such nonsense. This colonel defended HIS right to do his job and defend the State he lives in against foreign provocateurs & agitators who have nothing to look for in Israel, because they hate everything what Israel stands for. Stop thinking in PR terms. Police forces in EUS handle agitators in a much tougher way than Israel does. There they don't appologise for every protester who gets beaten up and no PM, FM or President even talks about it. It's for the security forces to handle security. Israel has to stop this knee-jerk appologetic behaviour, ''every time when some foreign self-proclaimed "activist" gets beaten up. These people know exactly why they came. Getting beaten up sometimes, comes with the territory. Israel is a dangerous place for brainwashed "activists". They should be more active at home and find a job.
53. Throwing Back
Living in Sweden ,   Stockholm, Sweden   (04.16.12)
I´ve had enough of these leftist brats from Scandinavia who is ignoring all evil in the world and instead are attacking the only democracy in the ME, how about we start a flytilla of our own and get together in Israel with the sole purpose of throwing stones back at those idiots? Would be fun!
54. This is a joke, yes? Bleeding hearts should visit SYRIA!
Joe ,   Toronto, Camada   (04.16.12)
55. Why bother with an inquiry ??? ,...
split ,   US   (04.16.12)
Your spiritual leaders pronounced him innocent already - After all the dude was a goy and they (rabbis)know his value confronting the "chosen" ones ,... This happen when they forget who the are and what they're here for ,...
56. #50 - then he'll have to explain his own unlawful actions
William ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
like entering the West Bank on false pretenses which is a violation of immigration policies afforded sovereign nations by Intl Law. Then he'd have to explain why he was in a closed military zone defying the order of a solider, against local law (which is not over-ridden by any Intl law). Then he'd have to explain to his parents and the court why he chose to do something as stupid as he did. Keep in mind - this type of action occurs much worse at WTO meetings between police and anarchists and not one call for Intl Law investigations was made. Until you act with equality, you will get no equality. BTW - the ICC just announced that Palestine isn't a recognized State so....
57. The video is enough to' convict provoking activist
Anna M Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (04.16.12)
..so with the video we can find out Who is the activist and Why he was allowed in Israel....
58. IDF isn't trained for policing.
Rachel ,   USA   (04.16.12)
The IDF is an army, not a police force. When you send soldiers trained for combat out to deal with civil disturbances you're asking for trouble. Combat requires quick reflexes, fearlessness and focus. Policing requires self-control, communications skills and patience. Very rarely do police have to resort to force. Sending soldiers to do this sort of operation isn't fair to the soldiers and isn't fair to Israel, which gets the media black eye when things go wrong.
59. Only two thngs are certain....
Alan ,   Beer Sheva, Israel   (04.16.12)
1. The Israeli governmental authorities were in error for assuming his guilt without an investigation into the details of the event. 2. Largely as a result of that error, the facts will never makes a difference vis-a-vis world opinion.
60. A BEAR HUG for Eisner !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (04.16.12)
