31. #24 & #29 I have questions for you
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (04.18.12)
How do you imagine the region under the hegemony of Hassan Nasrallah? Soldiers like Eisner are a guarantee this will not happen. When a "activist" behaves disrespectful to an armed soldier in a foreign country what should he expect? Maybe not massages and spa treatments. Who has an a$$ to play "activist" is a shame for two slaps to yelling to the media. By what criteria this is "the most ugly incident", in the background of all that happening around the world? IDF showed that have men. What about Israeli leaders, media, PR? They don't defended Eisner, dismissed him. While Assange interviewed Nasrallah in manipulative English speaking TV. If Israel doesn’t defend himself, no one else do it. About the guilt of Eisner - I'm always glad to see that Islamo-leftism no chance to spread chaos in a democratic state, because the security forces are on its place, to not allow this happen
32. Danish reminder
Ameridane ,   Aarhus, Denmark   (04.19.12)
Few months ago, the Danish police arrested a (Turkish/Danish) thug. While in custody, the detainee went berserk and it took 5 policemen to subdue him. He die 3 days later. And that was that (a court inquiry cleared the police. Eisner was trying to keep the road clear. The Dane shouldn't even be there. In my opinion he should be deported back to Denmark and if he objects do what the Danish police does when they have to deport a difficult person- wrap him in tape. Eisner should have been commended for his job- too many Danish yobs!
33. Response to#30
John R ,   NYC USA   (04.18.12)
When people disagree with your point of view, do you always threaten them? Your own Courts say the West Bank is not Israeli land and that you are an occupier. The last thing Israel needs is to look like a thug in front of the rest of the world and yes it does cause anti-Semitism for Jews worldwide. If Eisner has a credible defense let him display it in a court of law and the law can determine his fate. As for you, I hope you're not on the welcoming committee greeting Jews immigrating to Israel. Your welcome could cause them to go back where they came from.
34. To the author and all the right wing looneys here
Ehud   (04.19.12)
1. If the activist really broke his fingers, and did not arrest the perpetrator immediately in the first place, he should be fired for incompetence from the army. 2. He should be fired for incompetence again for failing to have seen the cameraman (who wore a shock-yellow dress to highlight his press status! It's clear on the video). 3. He should be fired again for loosing his temper - what will he do during the stress of a real war, massacre a village Mylay-style? 4. He should be fired again for an immoral act totally against the IDF code and unbecoming of an officer - beating a nurdy, harmless civilian who at that moment of the brutal act stood harmlessly around and didn't pose a threat to anyone (the decisive 5 minutes before the hit are completely unedited and show this clearly except to the blinded fanatic) 5. He should be fired again for his inability to understand and admit a serious mistake, and his stupid obstinate behavior - not apologizing to the victim for the obvious. 6. He should be fired for criticizing his superiors publicly through spokespersons instead of reflecting for five minutes whether they could be right. 7. He should be fired because he - a Colonel - did not live up to the simple soldier who withstands daily provocations by clenching his teeth and doing the right thing in a professional manner - not giving in to emotions, but to follow the code. 8. Despite all this, he is still better than all those fascist politicians and fact-denying journalists who wish to turn him into the wronged saint and victim, thereby distorting truth and moral and ridiculing the rule of law.
35. danish protester
joel ,   usa   (04.19.12)
this danish man should be declared persona non grata, he has no rights whatsoever to get involve in any protest as a foreigner, in violation of his visa granted by the israeli government, you can't do that in saudi arabis, qatar, iran, egypt, abu dhabi, etc.!
36. # 33
Birdi ,   Israel & proud of it   (04.19.12)
I suggest you re-read my post again very carefully as I was not threatening ex-uk. Giving advice & threatening are 2 very different things. As for Judea & Samaria, no way do I intend to get into an everlasting argument with the likes of you. Yes how did you guess, I am at the airport every day welcoming & handing out flowers to new immigrants. In fact I live at the airport!

Stan ,   Israel   (04.19.12)
Apparently you don't understand English. I wrote that although the incident was photographed by the army, we have not been shown any footage or pictures which could support Eisner's version of what happened. What has this to do with Nasrallah? Our soldiers are trained to fight against people who threaten the lives of Israel's citizens. An army of occupation, cannot expect to receive flowers and hot coffee and buns from the indigenous people. This applies to any army of occupation and most certainly one which has been there for more than fourty years!
40. #14 Hoer hoer
Stan ,   Israel   (04.19.12)
You sound just like an Afrikaaner from 60 years ago - and look where it got them!
41. #15 Thats what I like, a fighting spirit.
(04.19.12)
Just like BAR KOCHBA ........er wait a minute, he led our people to destruction.
42. #15 Well said! A real fighting spirit!
Stan ,   Israel   (04.19.12)
Just like BAR KOCHBA, he was a real fighter just like you. (For those who don't know about Bar Kochba, he led a revolt which led to the destruction of Jewish society in Eretz Yisrael. Those who were not killed were scattered about, and Jews were not allowed to enter Jerusalem for hundreds of years)
43. #20 An excellent Idea!
Stan ,   Israel   (04.19.12)
The problem is that you cannot use police in occupied territory except for your own nationals.
44. #39, #34 okay, you're right
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (04.19.12)
I became very radicalized from this unhappy incident, this is stupid, sorry. The interview coincides in time, I got angry and that is why I mentioned it
45.  Don’t dismiss Eisner
Ramon ,   Carmiel   (04.19.12)
A contrast The worst you see in the video is very nervous commander Eisner, shouting orders and counter orders, attacking the idiots pushing against Norway, and is the only one with a gun ready and firing position. Finally, free without any logic, hits the activist in the face. The big contrast is that in the same scene, we see his subordinates, young Israeli soldiers, safe, calm, with full knowledge of the terrain and professionally handling the situation. Surely this is what most will value the military judges.
46. Officer Eisner
Don ,   Indy USA   (04.19.12)
Well said Brother, well said. That's why the French could not win a war under any conditions. Their pants might get dirty. Eisner looks mean and tough and that's the way it should be. It serves no purpose having him look like a wuss.
47. John R - response to attack
Jerold   (04.22.12)
is a blatant anti-Israeli old activist (around 80), a conflicted self-hating Jew, who habitually and routinely lies and defames and slanders here.
48. To Stan, Israel
Jerold S.   (04.22.12)
Why should Israel allow old (over 70) far-leftist radicals (extremists) into its territory as her new citizens from abroad, in your case south Africa, leiimg about "occupation" and everything esle, if you so demonstrably hate your new country, that was never intended to be yours in the 1st place? Words fail me.
49. Danish activist had a false name
Shoshanna ,   Tel Aviv   (04.23.12)
Damish activist who hit Eisner had a fake identity. Ias /Eyas was not his real name. Also a nearby bystander had a knife. Look at the video carefully frame by frame
