The Ganges is one of the most polluted river in the world. Good that they are trying to clean it. I believe it is dangerous to even sip a little of the water from most Indian rivers. Time we cleaned up our rivers and streams- not just in India, but in Israel and elsewhere

Yanni, sadly it is not just the poop of millions that goes untreated into the Ganges (or Ganga) river! Chemical companies, tanneries, factories all dump their toxic wastes into the river. India's rivers are more sewers than rivers!
