2. If Memorial Day & Remembrance Day
Benjamin ,   Ramat HaSharon   (04.25.12)
would be on Tisha b'Av Jews - ALL secular and ALL religious – in Israel and worldwide would feel the pain.
3. to the fallen, "BECAUSE YOU WERE, ISRAEL IS"
mary of bethany ,   singapore   (04.25.12)
"When they say that it’s the best ones who fall" quoting what Bibi said as reported in Arutz Sheva, because none other words can express it more beautiful, more heartbreaking, more sincere than these few words. Always, it's "THE BEST ONES" who fall! These "Best" whose fear are not lesser than the rest, who are not really great eloquence heroes that can woo a crowd, and will never have CNN or National Geographic to laud their Act, but are always the ones that quietly holding on when the so-call brave ones start doubting and regretting. Israel, unlike Fatah or Hamas, will never name a street after these unsung heroes, because these fallen don't need such "reminders"! To their mothers, to their wives, to their sons, they are the One and Only. To the fallen soldiers, "BECAUSE YOU WERE, ISRAEL IS"!

We also remember those that have fallen, those we dont hear about far away and often in hostle countries. Our thoughts with all the beraved families.

Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (04.25.12)
please G-d for the day that all Jews everywhere are allowed to live in peace. It begins with and in Israel. We do build, that's what we do. Build, defend, protect and grow. BUILD BABY BUILD Capitol of Israel JERUSALEM. This we do for the fallen and for their heirs.
7. The might remnant Israel!!
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (04.25.12)
Just as our sages and prophets have written of long before the actual fact and we are privileged to witness. "Next year all of Jerusalem." ( Israel's only capitol.)
8. #4 Ora I meant to say that everyone would join along
Benjamin ,   Ramat HaSharon   (04.25.12)
with each other's pain. It wouldn't be an isolated observance for secular and some religious Israelis only.
9. To: No. 8
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.25.12)
What do you mean by "isolated observance for secular and some religious Israelis only?" All of the fallen are ours, just the way the six million who died in the Holocaust, and all those murdered by Arabs and Moslems throughout the Middle East are ours. All fallen Jews are ours. Shevet ahim gam yahad. Or, as Steven Spielberg put it, a band of brothers. (And, in these politically correct times, sisters, too.) No matter. We are all Jews, and we mourn the loss of each and every Jew who died in defense of the Jewish people, so we could have our own tiny bit of land. Those non-Jews who fell beside us matter, too. Tisha b'Av is not a Druze holy day, nor is it a Circassian holy day, nor is it an Arab Christian holy day. It is a Jewish holy day. Don't all of Israel's fallen deserve a day in recognition of their huge sacrifice?
10. #9 Sarah It's more important
Benjamin ,   Ramat HaSharon   (04.25.12)
for Jews - religious and non-religious - worldwide to mourn the loss of our fallen soldiers and for the Jews who perished in the Holocaust. Out of Israel most Jews are not even aware of the dates Israel set for Memorial and Remembrance Days. If it were on Tisha b'Av, Jews - both religious and non-religious Jews worldwide, Israelis and non-Israelis - would mourn the loss of Jewish lives. Of course Druze and others could mourn on Tisha b'Av too if that would be the set date for Memorial & Remembrance Days.
