Helen ,   London, UK   (04.25.12)
Thank you Shalom Salam
32. #1 Aiman- come see Israel for yourself
Israeli   (04.25.12)
don't believe the writer. come see, speak to anyone, go anywhere and learn about Israeli society. then we can talk about what is true and what is not.
33. Wonderful to hear an Arab Muslim able to see the truth
Carl ,   USA   (04.25.12)
Too bad his American counterpart, #1 Aiman, was utterly brainwashed as a kid and is still convinced that zionism is a "crime" perpetrated by Europeans upon a previously "distinct people." The author has opened his mind to actual FACTS proving the lie of Arab propaganda.
34. I used to think like Kasim! ugly scary truth
Hanna   (04.25.12)
I was young when Islamists came to power in Iran. the level of brainwashing from early childhood was and still is so vicious that I hated Israel and the U.S just like Moslems did and I am a Jew! As a result of this constant brainwashing, and not having access to books and other media, but the government's , because every form of media was completely censosredI, I, like every one else could easily justify any kind of murder and evil done by the Islamists. It was impossible to see the truth and even the fact that these Islamists even hated other Molsems , mainly Sunni Moslems more than Jews. the one million Sunni Moslems who live in Islamic Iran's capital, Tehran are not even allowed to build one mosque ( and Moslems complain when the families of the victims of 9/11 are against building a mosque in the area! ever heard the world's Moslems complain against Iranian government Apartheid about this issue?) in the media to this day, there is open hateful speech and constant insult against Sunni Moslems, Bahais, Jews,Christians, and Sufis, whose houses of worship have also been demolished and no one in the world has been saying even a world in their defence. What do Arab and Moslem Apartheid states do so that they can be officially called Arab Apartheid states? we live in an upside down world, where Israel is called Apartheid, by European colonizers who have decided that the new form of colonizing Middle East is through keeping different nations in war so that they can benefit from the strife. but as years passed, even many Moslems started to see they were being brainwashed to turn into war-mongering hateful creatures who had to hate and kill anyone they corrupt Islamist government wanted them to kill. The government had only praises for Russian Communists even when they killed Chechen Moslems, and praises for china, even when they killed and tortured Moslems in their country, and only hatred for U.S in spite of the fact that even many of the government officials sent their kids to U.S for education!. Unfortunatly most Iranian Moslems still hate Israel becuase of all this religious brainwashing and also becuase although they can see the evil of the Islamists' teachings and their demands to hate and kill each other, as it affects them in their every life, they do not suffer from the hatred that government teaches them to show Israel and Jews. if they cannot suffer from their wrong behavior toward Israel, they cannot see the evil in their believes.
35. #1 You have conveniently forgotten about the
robert ,   usa   (04.25.12)
Arab crimes toward the Jewish population in most Arab states. The Jews in the Islamic lands were expelled and some were killed, 1M of them. They joined their brethren in the land of Israel which was attacked time and again by none other than the Arab states that kicked them out. The invented Palestinian Arabs claims are as hollow as the Palestinian Arab narrative. Jews are as indigenous to the Middle East as the Arabs are. The Arabs occupy 99.9% of the Middle Eastern landmass. 20% of the remaining landmass is owned by the Arab inhabitants of Israel. Therefore, Jews own a tiny, tiny fraction of the land surrounded by those who want them dead. The Middle East is not Micronesia. It is fostering corruption, inhumanity, violence and hatred. Among the Middle Eastern despots, terrorists and thugs there is a tiny democratic land. Continue creating your fantasies but the Jews will live in a sovereign state of their own whether their neighbors like it or not.
36. #11
Aaron ,   Spartanburg, SC, USA   (04.25.12)
Why not? I know an Arab family from Tel Aviv that lives here in the states. They retained their Israeli citizenships and go back regularly. Their children are American-born, but the Israeli government recognizes them as dual citizens of the US and Israel. Why shouldn't they welcome this guy?
37. Yes!
Brian Meadows ,   West Chester, USA   (04.25.12)
I already do, Kasim. May G-d bless, strengthen and protect you for the truth you have found out and now share with others! Be of good courage, brother!!
38. He's not alone.....
Froike ,   NY NY   (04.25.12)
Though the majority of Muslims are taught from birth to hate Israel, Zionism, Jews, and the West. There are many well educated Muslims in quite a few countries who have gotten past the lies and propaganda. Only through the truth and tolerance is there any hope for peaceful coexistence. In any case, my best wishes and admiration for my cousin Kasim...We need a few million more like him!
39. Chalk up a win for the "whiner"
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.25.12)
I got into an argument with my oldest nephew two years ago during the low point of US-Israel relations. Nephew is an in-the-tank-for-Obama liberal who's broadly ignorant of international politics and could only spout Democratic talking points, but described Dershowitz complaints about how Israel was being treated by Obama as "whining". Well, it looks like Dershowitz' arguments have won over Mr. Hafeez. Kasim may feel alone over in Islamist Britain, but he'll find others like himself at Nonie Darwish's site ArabsforIsrael.com.
40. What do you ACTUALLY know, Aiman?
Ami ,   Chicago   (04.25.12)
You know very little.... You need to learn the FACTS of the history of the Middle-East. I admit it will take more than one hour, though. But listening to SLOGANS coming from anti-Israeli propaganda won't make you to knowledgeable.
41. So what?
Kasim Hafeez   (04.25.12)
I have many huge countries I can live in. Israel is a small place and has room for more Jews only. It would be selfish for me to want to take the place of another Jew who must go and live in Israel.
42. Flossy
pelusi ,   london UK   (04.25.12)
he can live in israel in accordence to naturalization law just as in the UK or France or Italy so before you have a random brain fart go check your facts
43. #1 - history didn't begin in 1939
William ,   Israel   (04.25.12)
Israel was in the making since 1880 - a full 59 years prior to WWII. And it was based on the human right of self-determination - a right afforded to all populations, except for the Jews, apparently. During the twilight years of the Ottoman Empire, Jews were welcomed into the region. They purchased land legally and diplomatically made their case for a homeland in the land of their ancestors and ONLY there. The only crime that occurred in history was the attempted ethnic cleansing by Muslim Brotherhood-led Arab Nationalists and the lie perpetuated after that of a people called the "Palestinians" as displaced natives, when a mountain of documentation exists to dispute that easily. Apparently, the same information the author used to make an informed decision is still rejected by you based on your own bias - the very same ignorant bias that the author fought to get away from.
44. #11 - and yet, many non-Jews have immigrated to Israel
William ,   Israel   (04.25.12)
so, your claim isn't rooted in hard and fast facts, Sweetpea.
45. Brave
Eran ,   Israel   (04.25.12)
I read your article and I think you are brave to stand up and admit that there was another truth out there. You don't need to becom a Zionist just be brave to overcome the blind and bad influence you were exposed to and stand up and say that maybe just maybe we are not that bad. As an Israeli I belive that all are equal to enjoy their right to live in a free and democratic country = the State of Israe but just the same we will act to defend our right to our own state. I hope more european muslims will come here and see for themselves !l
46. sometimes we win one
Wade ,   NYC USA   (04.25.12)
T-G Kasim is interested in the truth. Usually, the hatemonger has no interest in the truth. For example, #1 talkback could research the facts behind his/her allegations if truth were important. He/she might reach other conclusions. Kasim's story shows how important Dershowitz' advocacy is for defending Israel. Do not hesitate to add your voice in any forum to the defense of Israel. It's an existential struggle, not just an ego trip.
47. 1. your point of view is still not based in historical truth
(04.25.12)
48. #1 I resent being called a European
Michael   (04.25.12)
it is a crime to deny another peoples' heritage. Scientificly speaking Jews that lived in Europe since the destruction of the temple that was named Palestine by the Romans. However, There have been several DNA studies showing Jews from Arab countries as well as European countries have a series of DNA in common. Therefore, I urge you to read the studies for your self. Who know maybe when you realize Jews aren't European you may realize that its not a crimefor a Jew to live in Judea.
49. Thank u Kasim
Eli ,   Holon,Israel   (04.25.12)
We,the people of Israel realy glad to have u with us. I wish more people like you had the courage to try to open their eyes to see the real world. Be strong and keep it safe brother. Eli
50. "Muslim Zionist" and Dershowitz
Lol ,   Usa   (04.25.12)
I wonder how much money a "former" anti Israel "Islamist" can make by writing pro Israel propaganda? By the way Alan Derahowitz is a fraud and plagiariser, that book of his is known for being a complete lie based of Joan Peters lies
51. reply to all who disagree
Aiman ,   jersey   (04.25.12)
I agree history did not start in 1939 but you have to admit that jewish ppls from europe look, act differently than middle eastern jews. and for the ppl that I have to go back 3000 yrs now thats crazy a lot happened in those years such as wars, mass immigration for number of reasons and of course converions I am pretty sure a lot of jewish ppl converted to christianty or Islam or whatever. and of course the jewish ppl that went europe or other Arab countries looking for a better life.
52. 11 aliyah
Heda Lettuce ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.25.12)
Israel welcomes all Jews and their spouses whether Jewish or not. I know, because I am a married gay Jew to a Catholic Mexican, living our dream in Israel
53. @ 50
rebecca ,   Canada   (04.25.12)
I know many people who have changed their oppions and views in support of Isreal once they have done the research. In fact, some people were trying to find reasons why Isreal should't exist and ended up being the most steadfast supports of Israel and Zionism I have ever met! The truth shall set you free.
54. To: No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.25.12)
1. Zionism is the nationalist movement of the Jewish people to return to their ancient homeland. The Jews are indigenous to Israel, and the length of time spent in exile, or where that exile was spent, is entirely irrelevant. 2. The Jewish people did not colonize anyone. The ersatz "Palestinians" are indigenous to the Hejaz in the Western Arabian Desert. In point of fact, it was not until the British took over the Mandate that the majority of people who today call themselves "Palestinians" (which is erroneous and misleading -- the Jews are the true Palestinians) entered present-day Israel. Moreover, for the entire period between 1948 and 1967, the ersatz "Palestinians" living in Judea and Samaria were quite content to be Jordanian, and those living in Gaza were quite content to be Egyptian. The ersatz "Palestinians" co-opted an identity from Jews and invented a history -- and you drank the Kool-Aid. 3. There are consequences to waging wars, and they not always pleasant, particularly for the aggressor. Israel has been drawn into six wars that it never wanted. But it is not the fault of Israel that she emerged victorious. Moreover, the ersatz "Palestinians" have engaged in seven decades of unrelenting terror and violence. That, too, is not without consequences. 4. The ersatz "Palestinians" have rejected a two-state solution on no fewer than three occasions including, most recently, an offer which would have awarded them 95% of the West Bank and East Jerusalem as a capital. They chose to start the second intifada instead. Not very smart, but that's not Israel's fault, either. Nor should Israel pay the price for Arab intransigence, Arab violence and Arab deceit. 5. The simple fact of the matter is that the ersatz "Palestinians" are not interested in peaceful co-existence with Israel; they are interested only in supplanting Israel. That is never going to happen, but the ersatz "Palestinians" are so fragmented and split apart, there is no longer any sense in negotiating a settlement, because it will never include all the ersatz "Palestinians." Depending on which group is flavor of the month, there will either be peace or there won't. It is not a risk worth taking, particularly if it means giving up strategically essential territory.
55. Re. the article in nonsense
Frank ,   Jerusalem   (04.25.12)
What "crime" are you referring to? Maybe you need to talk to Kasim Hafeez about your "facts". That might be another eye-opener for you.
56. @Kasim
Abu Daniyal ,   Palestine   (04.25.12)
i know this pakistani guy, he is touring to seminars and make a living with such stuff, playing the Saul to Paul game. there are many sites sponsored by different zionist org. like "arabsforisrael.com" and "british muslims for israel" dear ynetnews readers. its party your money which is spent for this kasim guy. do you realy belive this crap work on anti-zionist? btw. as a christian im not in the position to judge you mr. hafeez, but i have some doubts about your "muslimness". there are too many self-proclaimed "ex muslim" "zionist muslims" who need money
57. human rights?
Nolwenna ,   London, UK   (04.25.12)
I would be interested to hear about human rights concerning the palestinian situations, I am a bit concerned by this article which claims to stand on one side only..what is exactly the point you are trying to make here? That you were indoctrinated your whole life into hating Israël without making your own personal opinion, but aren't you doing the exact same thing by completely eluding the problems of palestinians? I am not taking one side or the other as I respect both people, however, I cannot say that I completely agree with the recent attack on the Canadian boats supposed to bring humanitarian help to Palestinians, I am not also completely okay with the politic of propaganda going on in America against the Palestinians (well after all, Israel and US are best buddies so why would they even consider the Palestinian cause?..If I recall Newt Gingrich called them the invented people?). It is not about taking one side here and saying that Israel is better, it's about saying the truth, there are good and bad about this country and it needs to be acknowledged. You went to Israel for like a month and all of a sudden everything is changed? That is a bit too easy? Why don't you spend a month in a Palestinian refugee camp and see the other side of the wall?
58. #1
Bryan ,   NY, NY   (04.25.12)
The Jews have been Zionist long before the Holocaust, and there has been a continuous Jewish presence in Israel. Jews were not only "kicked out" of Europe; nearly a million were also expelled from Arab and Muslim countries. Finally, what "distinct" people were displaced? How are they distinct from Lebanese, Syrians, Jordanians, etc.?
59. To aiman , jersey
Avi ,   Israel   (04.25.12)
I am glad that you aren't one of the Haters and that is very important for every human being. I can only ask you to read a little bit more history books and relay less on the media before you say "Europeans that where kicked from Europe came and colonized a land and a distinct people". Jewish people were there before the holocaust and came all the way from North Africa Iraq Yemen and Iran. If you will research it you will find that 80% of the lands were actually SOLD to the Jewish people that arrived (The Arab leaders of Jordan and Syria went against them but as always money is money everywhere) People co-existed together for long time on this no man land. The land of Israel has a long past between the Empires that ruled at this area and almost each time tried to eliminate every sign of them. The Roman Empire actually invented the “Palestinian” concept in order to eliminate any Jewish memory from this land. (Go ahead and Google it, read books it is actually interesting ) It’s not black and white my friend,so using Hard Phrases such as colonizing a land of "distinct people" is a little bit ignorant and far from any actual historical fact.
