31. # 7 UK: Just Two
Elizabeth   (04.27.12)
Cameron hasn't changed his Pants in a while. Haven't you noticed he is still in his High School years. Like a few others before him (and I thought Tony Blair was an idiot) but Cameron takes the cake. He's walking around Downing St. in a perpetual daze!
32. Non English Spoken in England
Moragh   (04.27.12)
should not be allowed to travel anywhere in GB if they cannot speak, read or write mnjust a tiny bit of English. What do the foreigners think when they go to GB...... that the Brits should be able to speak, read and write Japanese, Chinese etc. Get your act together, idiot!
33. Edwin @ 18
macktheknife   (04.27.12)
I assume you mean planks in the eyes?
34. What about the 'peace line' in Belfast?
Flavio ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (04.28.12)
Just saw a documentary the other day, I was shocked to find out tha Belfast is still divided in two halves, catholic and protestant, with a 'peace wall' running across the city and gates which are closed at night. UK parliamentarians must do their homework first and stop talking nonsense about 'apartheid' in Jlem light rail system.
35. ignorance and stupidity!
(04.28.12)
But most of all they soak up the tonnes of propaganda spewed out by the islamic countries which try and in some cases succeed in brainwashing otherwise intelligent but un questioning or sometimes anti jewish individuals
36. Why doesn't he name the "parliamentarians"? Because without
(04.28.12)
That you can literally write anything. Which is typical of Ynet these days.
37. The British Parliament:
Taz Man ,   USA   (04.28.12)
The black heart of anti-semitism has no logic or clear meaning to its evil purpose, except to hate the Jews. How else does anyone try to explain the distorted and nonsensical views of the many anti-Semites. Hatred makes stupid fools out of a any one! God bless and His Jerusalem! A Christian Zionist
38. excellent article
Ilana Fine Bar-Hai   (04.28.12)
FInally ynet is publishing positive and true articles. We will stop reading Ha aretz.
39. Lousy step dancing around the subject ,...
split ,   US   (04.28.12)
Does the light rail route link the illegal settlements on stolen land in occupied Palestinian territory with Israel by it alone violating Geneva Convention Agreements, yes or no?
40. Mr. Ha'Ivri is blind to the truth
John R ,   NYC USA   (04.28.12)
The reason the British condemned the light rail is because it represents one more step to permanently affix Israel's illegal annexation of Jerusalem. When NONE of the 157 countries that diplomatically recognize the state of Israel maintains an embassy in Jerusalem, there is a reason. There is an equal amount of emotion displayed by the Arabs as is displayed by these talkbackers when you speak of Jerusalem. It highlights why you are incapable of making peace. Which rock on the wailing wall is worth more than a single Israeli life? The whole city should be internationalized with Jews maintaining Israeli citizenship and Palestinians maintaining Palestinian citizenship. An international consortium selected by Israel and the Palestinians should maintain policing and administration as was envisioned in UNGA 181. If peace means more than reclaiming ownership of something held 3,000 years ago, you would say yes. The problem is you would rather watch Jews die and cause anti-Semitism because you believe symbols are our religion. They're not and never were.
41. baseless libel and propaganda
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (04.29.12)
Why do people buy into such baseless libel and propaganda? Why do news media like The Guardian, The Independent and the BBC buy into news media like Haaretz? If Israel's own loony Left prints libel and propaganda, is it any wonder that others buy into it?
42. Loss of Empire
SMF ,   USA   (04.29.12)
The loss of empire and commonwealth relegates the Brits to just another semi-socialist EU loser-model; aging population dependent on cheap immigrant labor. Since the Irish have their own country they need the Muslim migrants. Their Jew hate is more economic dependence on Gulf Oil driven commerce, and Lawrence of Arabia clap trap on the A levels. Interesting to ponder, was Erwin Rommel any worse that John Glubb--not really.
43. the greatest irony of the claim is that...
oferdesade ,   israel   (04.29.12)
the state comptroller's report actually criticized the fact that because the rail went through arab neighborhoods, the cost of security would make it unfeasible. it goes through nevertheless...
44. To no. 3 Where you smoking Pot? your comment is irrelevant..
Ari ,   Jerusalem   (04.29.12)
To the article. The article point out that for the first time in existence Jerusalem was divided for 19 years. The arab Legion trained by the British remoce all Jews from the City and declared clean of Jews (Judenrein) when the ovens of the Shoa were still warm. THAT IS APARTHEID. When Israel united the city in June 1967 all religions were free to exercise their believes, and that is truth. So Ian use this media to procelitize is completaly out of touch
45. End the occupation
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (04.29.12)
Londinium is a Rome built city that is currently occupied by Anglo-Saxon racists. They must return the city to Roman control and remove all Anglo-Saxons.
46. To no 40 know you became a Rabbi telling us what is wrong...
Ari ,   Jerusalem   (04.29.12)
nd waht is bad. Jews accepted the UN resolution 181 . The arabs did not accepted and never will. As for a 151 rejecting Jerusalem as Israeli Capital is the result of 2000 years of antisemitism and persecussion. Just like the arabs the world has not digested well that Jews have returned to the Homeland. The englidsh HistorianToinbee considered the Jews an extint nation. I think Israel is the living proof he was wrong. Jews are not the only nation that goes arround using symbols. So does the USA with it's Eagel, or with it's flag or for the same instance evry country has it's symbols. The Jews have the Torah to start, then the Menorah and also tyhe Flag and Hatikvah. France has it's flag and the Marselleise and other symbols. Symbols are part of the pride of Nations weather you like it or not
47. false (to no.3)

48. answer: no
(04.29.12)
As he said, what you call Palestinian stolen land simply dose not exist. It was occupied by Jordan when 6 arab countries declared war on the state of Israel a DAY after it was declared. the Jordanians occupied it until the 6-Days war. where in this do you see Palestine? It never existed. What "illegal settlements"? what stolen land? As the title says, the answer is no.
49. Response to#46
John R ,   NYC USA   (04.29.12)
The Palestinians were never asked if they accepted 181.It was the Arab League that attacked you in 1948. The Palestinians basically left because they didn't want to be in a war zone although about 25% were forced out. The symbol I am referring to is Jerusalem. When the Jordanians in 1950 annexed it no one objected louder than the Israelis saying the annexation was illegal. Only Britain recognized it. When Israel does the exact same thing then it is simply reclaiming your ancestral homeland as if international law has an exception for Israel. It doesn't. I don't equate an American eagle or a French flag with colonizing land which you illegally annexed. You need a Rabbi if you don't know the difference. .
50. Get your facts straight, John R
Tahl   (04.30.12)
1. There was no "Palestinian" people in 1948, as this term was invented in an Arab league summit in the 1960s. Those ersatz "Palestinians" were mostly peasants who migrated to the area over a few centuries, from neighboring Arab countries. Those very same Arab peasants who constantly carried out attacks on the Jewish inhabitants long before 1948, and who cheered on the Arab armies who vowed to "throw the Jews to the sea". The Jews of course tried to compromise with them, but as Arabs do best - they turned down the offer, wanting to get everything, and at the end got nothing. 2. There is nothing "illegal" about Israel's presence in Jerusalem. By which law, exactly? At best, some parts of Jerusalem are DISPUTED. And the fact that all those countries bow down to Arab pressure so they don't place their embassy in Jerusalem, has nothing to do with any kind of law, more like real-politics. 3. Actually, Israel LIBERATED Jerusalem from the Jordanians in 1967. So at most, you could say that Jordan may have some claim to the city, however the ersatz "Palestinians" have none. 4. Still, as a gesture of goodwill and willingness to compromise for peace (as well as important demographics considerations), Israel is willing to give away parts of East Jerusalem to become part of the future "Palestine". But Israel clearly does not OWE the ersatz "Palestinians" anything in Jerusalem, surely no more than today's descendants of America's white colonists owe the Native Americans parts of DC, or all of America for that matter (but heck, those poor folks didn't have so many friends with oil back then, and terror attacks were kind of difficult to perform effectively with a bow and arrow, so I guess their plight doesn't count for much). 5. Israel's decision on what to do with Jerusalem will be based on what's good for Israel, certainly not by antisemitic bullying, as such linking is ludicrous. By the same silly logic, every time a Muslim commits an act of violence against non-Muslims, then all of Europe's and America's Muslim residents are fair game for retribution. But if you still feel threatened as a diasporic Jew, then by all means, feel free to convert.
51. British history
Paul ,   Jerusalem   (05.18.12)
How many times did the Brits throw Jews out of England? Answer for yourself. How many Jewish lives did the Brits exterminate by allowing Arab hordes to attack Jewish settlements? Answer for yourself. Is it any surprise that Brits buy wholesale Arab political hate propaganda? When it comes to this conflict the British political system will always have their eyes set on Khoubz araby, rather then truth and decency.
