Based on the old numbers and new numbers it sounds to me Israel capacity stands at 1/2 billion cubic meters of desalinated water / year with 250 mln being put on - line. Israel should use a molten salt tower that uses heliostats to focus the sun to the top of the 500 foot tower.... to heat the salt to 1000 degrees F...... This heated salt can then be used to heat water into steam..... to run a steam generator to make electricity. Normally this water is condensed and reused in the system again. If Sea water was used to make steam for the system....then it could be reused after condensing it into fresh water for the public....while new sea water was pumped into the system to create steam in a continuous cycle. You could get electricity as well as fresh water. If you could figure out how to do it off the coast of the Mediterranean in the sea......without using land on shore....that would be even better.
