Tang Kong Chong ,   Johor, Malaysia   (05.03.12)
I advice both Arabs and Israelis to live in peace as soon as possible. Why should you fight. i can see no differences in your faces. both are hairy. Your disputes has sucked too much world resources.
3. This is NEWS!??? He Doesn't eat and faints?
EZRA THE PROUD JEW ,   USA-ISRAEL   (05.03.12)
Who cares? This has turned into a sick game with these terrorists. So what? He'll be martyred. Thats what they want. He'll go to heaven and be celebrated as a hero by his people and the leftists. It was his choice, nobody elses; people pull this stunt all of the time. I'm so sick and tired of everyone coddling terrorists, its DISGUSTING.
4. Tibi should join that terrorist in a hunger strike
(05.03.12)
to get 2 down
5. They chose to starve themselves
Israeli grandma   (05.03.12)
The prisoners were not forced to starve themselves, this is just one more tactic to play on the known soft-heartedness of the Jews. If we were as brutal and cruel as the Arabs the whole region would look different by now, and we might well have peace too.
6. The day you begin to think...& #5 grandma
Rob ,   Orangevale USA   (05.03.12)
like the enemies that you put all your time, blood and treasure to fight against, all is lost. To be a strong and lasting entity, it is imperative that you go beyond the pale to show your humanity. It doesn't matter that the prisoner has self imposed this, it's up to Israel to make sure this man does not die in captivity. Do you really need me to go over the reasons this is so? I dont know this man's crimes, I dont have any doubt he committed them, I just know that as a world citizen, that loves Israel, and prays to the one G-d for it's survival, it's no good to be allowed to die from hunger in the captivity of another nation. I fully understand how easy it is to be cruel. I know also that to be close to G-d, it is mandatory that you save life when possible. #5 Grandma "If we were as brutal and cruel as the Arabs the whole region would look different by now, and we might well have peace too". Do you kiss your grandchildren with that hateful mouth? You should be ashamed, as you doom your prodigy to the same treatment as you mete out. It should be your last duty to extoll the virtues of peace and the pains to achieve it. How easy is it to save a life? Whether or not the prisoner likes it, there are intrusive measures that should be made known to the prisoner, and it be made clear that he will not be allowed to die on Israeli soil. No need for coddling (as if being left to die from hunger is coddling) and no need for his death. Tie him down, feed intravenously, keep him there til his sentence expires, and kick him out. That will stem the tide of this ridiculous B.S. Shalom Israel, Rob
7. Poor lamb
nigel ,   london   (05.03.12)
did she faint due to lack of food or in facing justice in a court for the crine she has allegedly committed ? Just up the road in Syria, people have no access to justice. Perhaps it is a shock that Israel has a justice system to deal with suspects ? This is not news.

Do you mean to suggest that Israel should deprive security prisoners who are hunger striking of their right to exercise free will? Do you kiss your children with that stupid mouth?
10. No. 6 remember 2 things Givat Schalit and Margaret Thacher
Ari ,   Jerusalem   (05.03.12)
How was Givat Shalit treated? The world didn't make much effort to correct this injustice. Now everybody wants to mddle in the Harsh treatment Israel gives to it's prisoners. Most of them terrorists. Some were liberated forGivat Schalt and went back to make terrorists acts Palestinians dont want talks theyb want to impose conditions. I mentioned Margaret Thacher the IRON LADY. She stood by her believes and did not give in to the blackmail the Irish terrorists wanted to impose in Great Britain. Talks cannot be subtituted by violence. Yes number six this is a payback. Besides this guys are terrorists. And Jail is not a 5 star hotel. They want family visits, dennied to Shalit. They want phone services, denied to Shalit and they want to Study. Did they give Studies to Gilad?. When half of the world is systematic making Human Rights violations and nobody moves a finger. The UN human rights department points only at Israel. Enough is enough
11. unconscious Palestinian prisoner
David ,   Germany   (05.03.12)
Everyone is sooo concerned for the poor Palestinians thieves and murderers in prison but not one squeak about the suicide bombers who are also willing to die and kill as many innocent people as they can. Sorry, no compassion…

You are not in a position to advise Israelis anything. What a useless post! Peace is only possible when the rockets cease to land in Israel.Your post is the only thing that sucks here.
13. Ari @#10, and of course, Sarah B.@#9
Rob ,   Orangevale USA   (05.04.12)
Ari, I am no apologist for the terrorist scum that are killed rightfully so, in they're chosen profession. When though, he/she is caught, tried and sentenced, the captors have a legal obligation to care for him/her. Israel can be as cruel as it wants the world to see it to be. No big deal if Tibi, the gynecologist, helps the man back to his feet, and tells the judge that the man should be hospitalized. I'm sure there's a comedy skit in there somewhere. Yes Sarah, I do think the moral state of Israel should deprive him the right to die on Israeli soil, if for no other reason than deny him the status of 'martyr, but to show the world you are not like 'them'. I knew Sarah B was gonna blast me, but she is just another horsefly in the way of the truth. Yes Sarah, I do kiss my children with my stupid mouth, but I dont encourage them to laugh when there is a car accident that involves Muslims, or tell them who to hate either. I also defend the Jewish state and tell them that Israel is alot better than some of the people that claim to speak for it. That appears to be your function. You are quite full of yourself. Your hatred for all things Arab is pathological and unhindered. If one day you are captured by the "mad Palestinians", 'ersatz' or not, try to starve yourself, then perhaps you can persuade them to let you die.I doubt it would take much persuasion. The point is Ari, I understand 'payback' and I appreciate your brutal but refreshing honesty, but a captive belongs to Israel til it's time to get em' gone. Sentence up, go, and sin no more. Thats the way the justice system works. Good luck with that. Gilad was in the hands of the most vile scum on earth. You want to equate Israel with them? The Pali's are gonna keep coming up with myriad ways to toss a wrench into your humanity, as well as your justice system. You gotta give em' credit, they never quit. It's up to Israel not to sway the 'easy' way of the Nazi's, and just' pay em back" til they're all gone. In custody, out of custody. Who cares huh? You dont have the death penalty, so you have to be patient, perhaps they will make another crime down the road and be killed, or perhaps traded for somebody else later, as we are prone to do in our humanity for each other. Margaret Thatcher is the Iron Lady, but she's long gone now and guess who rules Northern Ireland today. The north Irish. Not really a hopeful scenario huh, probably just a bad analogy. Shalom Ari and Sarah B. Shalom Israel, Rob
14. If to force-feed them, then Israel would be infringing on
leo ,   usa   (05.04.12)
their Rights. If not to force-feed them, then Israel will be watching them die. What to do! What to do! What to do! I say, their freedom is more important than anything - not to force-feed them.

The fasting prisoner faints after 66 days. He cannot be fasting as any medical prActioner will tell you he would be dead. Let the criminal die ans stop wasteing press space on junk

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.04.12)
You missed the entire point. Can the Israeli prison service secure a hunger striker in prison, and insert a feeding tube? Of course. But what would the fallout be from that? A lot of international attention, a lot of screams and a great deal of protest that Israel is denying these prisoners their right to starve themselves if they sho choose. On the other hand, let one die. Then another. Then a third. As what happened in Britain, the charm of a hunger strike as a means of protest, when it falls on deaf ears, will no longer be all that attractive, and the hunger strikers will realize that their deaths are ignored, and the world hasn't massed up to invade Israel to "save" them, and won't even remember their names (well, they might remember the first one to go, the way I remember Bobby Sands' name, but none of the others), and they aren't going to be released from prison .... and I am willing to bet that they will break their hunger strike, just as the Irish hunger strikers did. It would be foolish for Israel to allow the threat of a hunger strike to loom perpetually on the horizon any time a security prisoner decides that he wants more visits, or a cellular phone, or whatever. It's nothing more than a form of blackmail, and the State of Israel should not succumb. Let them protest their confinement and die in the process, if necessary. They will have died with their free will intact -- and if that isn't what what this is all about (it isn't), they will have been allowed to do what they expressly claim is their desire. Finally, the purpose of the hunger strikers in Britain was the return of the six northern counties to the Republic of Ireland. That hasn't happened. It remain the "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland." So Bobby Sands et al. did die in vain. But it was their choice. Israel is not going to disappear because one, two, one hundred or even one thousand ersatz "Palestinians" terrorists decide they want to go on a hunger strike. They'll die in vain, too. But I'm betting once they realize that Israel isn't going to fall all over itself caving in to the whims of terrorists, the hunger strike will come to an end. It's only fun to be a terrorist when you can maim and kill. Unless you're a martyring whack job who expects to pass over to 72 virgins and rivers of honey (hell of a religion, isn't it, that promises sex and sweets upon death), terrorists are really not that interested in actually dying themselves. Bobby Sands thought that his death would launch hunger strikes across the Republic of Ireland, and certainly in all of the prisons housing IRA terrorists. Didn't quite work out that way, did it?
19. #2 LOL!
Observer ,   Scandinavia   (05.04.12)
Amidst all the madness in this region, and even though I am a pro-Zionist, you still deserve some credit for that "spot on" comment. And to Ahmed #16 (you are Turkish?) if it was meant as a joke, Halal and Kashrut are basically the same set of dietary laws. The mayor difference being whether Alcohol is permitted or not. And I think alcohol is not permitted anyway......
20. #13 Agreed Rob!
Con ,   Scandinavia   (05.04.12)
The prison should treat him as according to the obligations and regulations of the penal system. However, there is no need to let any convicted murderer or terrorist use the penal system as their political theater to stage spectacles, as in Norway for example. That is just unacceptable. If he refuses to eat, fine that is his choice. But the Israeli penal system has no obligation whatsoever to let him "voice" his outrage or spread his political propaganda.

So, are you acknowledging that if he chooses to starve himself to death, it is his choice? I hope that is what you are saying. It is, after all, his act of free will, isn't it?
