If I recall correctly, IJ stopped rocket attacks not out of their goodwill but because Israel killed tens of terrorists in a matter of a few days without sustaining a scratch. If IJ resumes rockets, then IDF will resume targeted attacks themselves until IJ says "oh, right. Now I remember why we stopped."

These are prisoners under Administrative detention.. In other words, they HAVE NOT BEEN CONVICTED of any crimes as of yet. So to all of you saying.. they are criminals, should have been shot instead of taken in etc... We still have rules of law and yes, they apply to everyone, even Balistinians. There ought to be a limit in a civilized society (Which we claim to be) as to how long you can hold someone without proof of a crime. That is their point. As for hunger strike.. let them strike and die if they wish, that part doesn't bother me. The holding without proof.. is another matter altogether. We either have a case against them in which case, try, convict and preferrably kill them, or if we don't (And presumably after two years of trying to make a case we won't) then let them go home and do a better job of getting our facts straight.

Firing rockets into civilian centers, blowing up civilians in coffee shops and buses, and announcing a goal of wiping out an existing State and its one ethnic population is more like terrorism than "civilized"...atleast, on Western standards. I feel perfectly comfortable when looking at myself in the mirror and saying that I wish for those prisoners who wish to starve themselves to death to have the human right to do so by their own decision.

Read the article again Ben. Only 200 prisoners are in administrative detention. The hunger strike is by almost 1600 actual prisoners who protest the administrative detention, and want many more additional rights like access to Arab TV, better food, university courses, and visits from families in Gaza. As you can see, administrative detention is but a small add-on issue to their otherwise undeserved sense of entitlement.

Really , from my perspective go ahead hunger strike til you wither away and die. Bye bye. And for those not yet in prison why not put a bullet in your head? Why wait for the big bad Israelis? Go ahead and do it. Remember 72 virgins await you. Make my day!

#15 This is just mind-baffling. It would never occur to me to call on mass murderer Anders Beiring Breivik as an example of the "great Scandinavian people". On the contrary, I would be shamed if anyone would refer to us as fellow Scandinavians as I deeply resent and detest the man. However, instead of trying to balance everything and say "OK, those are lunatic Islamist terrorists that care not for life nor for peace. But I am not like them and I do not believe in them" you want to excuse and parallel yourself with them as your brothers? I think we have the core issue right there. Besides don't you think it is pretty infantile to starve yourself and then blame the prison guards (Israel) if you die - but also wanting to blame them if you survive. How idiotic is that.
