1. The last few years have been an anomaly in Jewish history
David ,   Stockholm, Sweden   (05.07.12)
After the Shoah, for a few decades, it was not socially acceptable to be an anti-Semite. Jews, as a result, thrived like never before, reaching our potential in record numbers. However, as the memory of the Holocaust fades, old hatreds rekindle with a burning passion. In our entire history, it has never been easy to be a Jew. Never. However, in the last few decades, many goys have wanted to become Jews, from Nigeria to India to Indonesia, because being Jewish had for once become seen as something good for you, to get ahead. Now, we can see that this trend was the exception that confirms the rule. The new anti-Semitism, disguised as anti-Zionism, is increasingly bold. Outright anti-Jewish appeals are more and more likely and it is slowly moving mainstream. It has already moved from the Left's fringes into it's center. Now it is ready to move from merely socially acceptable for the Left's 'centrists' to a dominant theme and from there on, spread to all other political strands. The time when it was (relatively) easy to be a Jew has passed. We are now entering a phase where being a Jew is hard, as Israel, the 'collective Jew' of the world is slandered and attacked like no other nation on earth. Those Jews who attack Israel to 'blend' in are a known and ancient scourge among the Jews; our Judenrat Jews. But this wave of increasing anti-Semitism should remind every Jew of who he or she is. And never give up. We can only be defeated if we allow ourselves to be brought down.
2. #1
Paul ,   Sarasota USA   (05.07.12)
The #1 reason for the resurgence of anti-semitism on campus (and in many countries of Europe) is the rise of radical Islam.
3. zionism
fred lapides ,   USA   (05.07.12)
No one said it better and no one more distinguished that Martin Luther King, who said To say you are anti-Zionist is to be anti-semitic
4. The muzlum students in Irvine were tried and convicted.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (05.07.12)
Only by standing up and being strong will the lovers of terrorism be forced to stand down.
5. These Are the Chains That Bind Me
Douglas Fireman ,   Chicago, USA   (05.07.12)
Amazing ignorance prevails among anti Jew/Zionist students at major universities in the United States. And most of the students, who have joined anti Zionist organizations, Believe the propaganda they have read, heard or seen on television. Freedom means much more than having status, educational opportunities, and the right to live peaceably with ones' neighbors. As long as the students allow themselves to be brainwashed by those whose main goal is to debase and demean another culture, their Freedom of Speech truly imprisons them in the chains of hate-filled ideologies, which myriads of university students don't even realize further contributes to their own ignorance.
6. Israeli Goverment Do Something
Joe Sombrero ,   USA   (05.07.12)
The problem is these kids and also Americans fighting anti Israel propaganda gets very little help or basically ignored by the Israeli goverment that lives in a cacoon. The Israeli goverment should sue these movements expose thier funding. They should also expose the Universities Arab funding designed to propagandized by funding middle eastern centers to mold opinion. They should also trace and track funding PR firms hired by these goverments to demonize Israel. They also should prosecute these organizations universities and PR firms because of thier violation of foreign agent laws and anti boycott laws in the United States.
7. growing antisemitism
John ,   Herzlia, Israel   (05.07.12)
With the strong growing antisemitism in the West, the best answer is, especially for the young, to come on Alyah before you have settled in your homeland.
8. different approach
tiki ,   belgium   (05.07.12)
Jewish students go to University to study, Arab/Muslim students go to protest! Arabs/Muslims students act, Jewish students react! Jewish students are open minded, Arab/Muslims mind only one goal, theirs! Jewish students should stop reacting, but start acting! Jewish Students should stop seeking a dialogue because Arab/Muslim students don't want one (they only want to push their point of view through). Jewish Students should start challenging the Arab Muslim students about *their real goal, what *they realy want. Let *them prove they want peace and how *they want to achieve it. Let *them prove their claims of racism, apartheit & all the other nonsense. Dont answer, don't discuss, don't defend but challenge them! Tear apart their veneer, expose their lies! Do it like they do, loud, visible and graphic.....but with Jewish humor, something they don't posess. Be right & clever but *very determent!
9. You would seem to be right!
M ,   US   (05.07.12)
10. campuses are muslim bastions
M ,   US   (05.07.12)
Take note of this..I attended UCLA in the 60's and this wouldn't have happened back then. It does now and with frequency. The change is obvious and should be chilling to anybody without blinders. The universities in the US are now bastions of the Left/Marxists and islamists.
11. CA characterized as Left Wing -WRONG
Shlomo ,   USA   (05.07.12)
The author has probably never lived in California. There are only some small left wing pockets in a very large state, Berkley being the most noticeable. Orange County is about as Right Wing as Fox News (which is on every hotel TV there all the time) and most of the state is composed of fiscally conservative moderates who support individual rights. Don't ever think that just because we live in a state were people value Constitutional freedoms or support those rights for all humanity that we can be pigeonholed as one type. We are many of varied views and not all left right or other, but mostly center.
12. Very well put #8
Arnold Szmerling ,   Israel   (05.07.12)
13. Hostility in America
Secular Jews ,   at fault   (05.07.12)
just like hostility in Israel against haredim or perhaps BECAUSE OF hostility against haredim BY JEWS!
14. Two Words People Second Amendment!
(05.07.12)
I Have Live In Cali for 10yrs, 4 in USN and 6 as a civilian. This shit never happen to me. Back then the largest Arab population was Chaldeans, who fled sadam. There were party store owners, and nice respectful people, hard working and good citizens. I'll tell you All Threaten Me or My Own and Envoke my rights To Self Defence!!! My definition of gun control HITTING MY TARGET, there is something to be said for Double Taps. ברוך הא שם
15. #11 Shlomo
David ,   USA   (05.07.12)
I also have lived in California and now live in Oregon. My question to you is if California is not leftist then why do all the major elections go to the leftist candidates? President etc.? The Arnold is an exception, not the rule.
16. Try an even more different approach.
Michael ,   California, USA   (05.07.12)
Get out of the occupied territories in the West Bank. No student or supporter of civil rights will accept 250,0000 settlers controlling lives of 3,000,000 locals. Many Jewish students are among the demonstrators against Israel.
17. More & more americans view israel as a liability
christianpalestinian ,   nyc   (05.07.12)
Things are gradually changing for the better here in America.
18. campus anti-semitism
Syd Chaden ,   Palermo Calif USA   (05.07.12)
In order to accurately assess this problem, start with complicit university administrations, radical activist faculties, and a Justice Department that does not consider anti-semitism to violate human rights. Then, look at the Muslim organizations that are fomenting disruptions and attacks. Then, consider that all of this is being supported by US tax dollars.
19. At #1 David
Efraim ,   Virginia   (05.07.12)
Good letter. Keep up the good work! Its not just Europe, but also USA is in trouble. I see the influx of moslems and this is also having a bad effect as well.
20. (17)
tiki ,   belgium   (05.07.12)
If Israel is a liability, what would that make Arab countries?? What do they contribute to better the world, to science, to medicine, to technology, to peace, to understanding, to friendship, to enviromental solutions, to poverty, to 'anything except destruction, war, terror & encitement? Keep on dreaming. Americans can see through your bluff!
21. (16) Michael
tiki ,   belgium   (05.07.12)
You're boring. West Bank is called Judea & Samariah and it was occupied by the Jordanian from 1948-1967 and reclaimed by the Israeli's. Sadly, not every Jewish student knows his/her own history & neither do you!
22. 8- Jews should stop appeasing and sucking up
k ,   US   (05.07.12)
Jews have cemented a place in the US long before these first and 2nd Generation Muslims the US should not allow Muslims in the US, Muslims are not American and have been enemies of the US since the barbary wars Muslims only know violence, and sadly that is what it will take to get any respect
23. JEws should take money elsewhere then
David ,   USA   (05.07.12)
Jewish kids should take there money to schools that are not so radical and pro-muslim. California is a giant cess poll of socialist, communist and extremist. Why not the Midwest or East Coast then .
24. #20, #21 tiki - excellent posts
solomon ,   bklyn   (05.07.12)
Well said, very succinct. Thank you.
25. This is all BS..and not true..If it was it would have
Edithann ,   USA   (05.08.12)
made the papers....but it didn't ...so it's BS and more Zionist lies to frighten you all into running to Israel... Anyway, remember Israeli's and Jews all over are experts at False Flags ......so don't believe anything unless it comes from a reputable author who has some credibilty ouside the Zionist realm...are there any left?,,, A car full of Palestinian flags...is unadulterated BS... TATA
26. #16 Michael, the less the anti-Israel fanatics
ahad ha'amoratsim ,   USA   (05.08.12)
actually know about the situation, and the less they are willing to find out rather than accept the anti-Israel lies at face value, the more vocal they are.
27. STANDwithUS.com
Dr. I. Barr ,   USA   (05.08.12)
STANDwithUS.com is a must for Jewish students. This is an educational organization that maximizes support of Jewish students in colleges.
28. #17 christianPali First Of All Is A Oxymoron
(05.08.12)
Secondly America is Home Of Free and Land Of The Brave, which You are neither. Home of the free Doesn't mean Steal from New York State and Tax payer's. The U.S. Is In A Down Slide from the likes of You and Your Kind. You can take an arab out the desert, But You Can't Take The Desert out of the arab. Your subversive group knows nothing about contribution to any society. You people Just Know How To Take and Never Give. How Sad and tragic it is that the majority of Americans How Know Idea what your True intentions are wherever you people immigrate too. Not everyone Is Blind and ignorant. Yella
29. to 24
lili ,   jerusalem   (05.08.12)
i admire civilization but sure power can destroy the civilization like jenkeezkhan was a stage of power only but civilization need power to be mentained ... israil could not balance its civilization with its power ... so they invinted the --non balance force -- as their wars in gaza and in lebanon and in its war in the middle east conflict
30. Arab millions poured into Universities&leftist ideologues so
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (05.08.12)
often found amongst the hothouse flowers of accademia and rebellious students are natural allies. The Marxists etc just love to abuse freedoms that gives them the right to behave the way they do. Living off the best fruits of capitalism while loudly demanding its down fall. Too much time on their hands?
