1. Piece process...piece process!
Keren ,   IL-BR   (05.08.12)
Who still believes in this scam! Anyway, what I would like to say is that LAND matters in Israel must go back to State's policies and be taken out from High Court's realm. Lands in Israel is not a matter of secular Justice System because it precedes this kind of system and must be in the hands of governamental decisions ,which ,for their part, must be coherent to Sionism and to our history: ancient and recent.
2. Bibi is a genius
zionist forever   (05.08.12)
Labor under Shelly Y is far to left wing for Bibi's liking and if the polls are anything to go by if the election is held now she will lead the second largest party and so Bibi will need her. September elections would probably also leave him needing Yair Lapid and Lapid the man whose only policy is haredi bashing sharing a coalition with Lapid is going to create alot of instability if Bibi also needs the religious block to form a coalition. Mofaz is ideal for Bibi as a coalition partner because he is a former Likud man and unlike Lapid & Shelly Y he is not a political rookie so he will be smart enough to know when to do compromises & he is less of an idealist than the others. Most importantly for Bibi right now he has 29 Kadima seats to back him if he has to take on Liberman or the religious block. Leave the left & Lapid in the political wilderness for another year they are going to have a higher ladder to climb and Mofaz has time to make himself look electable potentially giving him enough popularity to overtake Labor as party of choice for the left which would suit Bibi if he can't put together a coalition with the right wing alone. Bibi also now has the potential to hurt Yair Lapid because with Kadima he can get the numbers to take on the religious block over issues like the Tal Law which is an issue Lapid is relying on being unresolved before the election because it would be a vote winner for him. All Bibi needs to do is make sure he doesn't screw up himself or make Mofaz to popular enough for the public to give Kadima another shot.
3. The Israeli public, by and large, stands firm behind this...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (05.08.12)
...move by the Likud and Qadimah, especially in light of the four issues that have been highlighted as essential to resolve, and can be resolved by a coalition in which the main Zionist parties are part, including Likud, Qadimah, Israel Beitenu, 'Atzmaut, HaBait HaJehudi: 1. The change of the governing system 2. The ensuring that all, including Haredim and Arabs, serve either in uniform or civil national service 3. Advancing the peace process with the Palestine Liberation organization (PLO) 4. Passing next year bi-annual budget In addition to these four items it should be kept in mind that should Israel decide to attack Iran, the citizens of Israel would like to see this happens under a national unity coalition. Let us hope the three other Zionist parties, i.e. Labor, Meretz and the National Union will stand by this government in its efforts to overcome these four issues to Israel's national and security interests.
4. Now number one!

Barak to pasture! Post of DM to Mofaz! Stop annihilation of Israel by High Court!
5. Democracy
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (05.08.12)
Democracy is great, unless you actually have responsibility and must listen to your voters. With their support for Peres' stinking deal and later the Sharon Gang's stinking deal, the High Court paved the way for this farce. Likud voters want something so they voted for Likud. Netanyahu doesn't want to fulfill the voters' desires so he brings in two people who were rejected by the voters (certainly by Likud voters). If the Likud members complain, he will fire them, set up a new party called Bibima and keep ruling. The High Court could use its unlimited powers to end this farce, but won't because the last thing that interests them is democracy.
6. New dawn....
Buskila ,   South America   (05.08.12)
I am no partisan for either one of the protagonists in this marriage of first class revolution without firing agun at a civil unrest. Politically its the creation, if it works, of a bloc stratifies of an ideological bent in the Israel landscape. Conceptualy it is remeniscent of Menahem Begin QUITE MAHAPAKH. It is a continuity in the formation of a real building bloc for a Nationhood. No more the disruption of small interest party who deviated the nation's interests to different venues. (I am talking from extreme Religious groups to the extreme left ). That is why in my humble opinion the future formation of this coupling might signal a peaceful transition of multiple ethnic interests into a constitutionalisation of a proper Nation.
7. To number 5. This is the rule of democracy
Ari ,   Jerusalem   (05.08.12)
For Israel's interests is good a broad coalition. It's good a broad coalition for Israel's interests. Now foreign affairs have to be seen different. For example
8. the left, haredim both unhappy - good move bibi
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (05.08.12)
Mofaz is a realist. He knows Kadima would only get 10-11 seats if elections were held. Lapid's party would also take votes away from Labor & Kadima. Livni hijacked Kadima & turned it into the new Labor. Now maybe haredim will do their part & serve & the economy can continue to grow..
9. Unity: SECURE BIG ISRAEL the only JUST&PRACTICAL option left
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (05.08.12)
10. Good move for stability. No real need for early elections
rebecca ,   Modiin   (05.08.12)
With Livni's hurt pride out of the way Mofaz has done what is good for Israel - try work together. We should all learn from this.
11. Unity in Israel
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (05.08.12)
Antisemites are most satisfied, if israelis are divided, and are fighting each other. Hungarian nazi websites are detailed reporting about every conflict in Israel. Most favorised thing was last year's economic demonstrations. To improve the life standard of average israeli citizen, it must be far the most important goal of the new government.
12. Mofaz has proved to us all who the real liar is!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (05.08.12)
I don't know why we don't just abolish the Knesset, the Supreme Court and Freedom of the Press and install Israel's Putin, Benjamin Netanyahu, as Israel's Dictator for life. Then Moshe Feigelin can't threaten him. At least the right-wingers on this site will be happy! Let's see what they say when countries start boycotting Israel, not because of the Palestinians, but because of the breakdown of democracy in this country. Netanyahu proudly proclaimed at AIPAC that "Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East". Well, he has just shot himself in the foot!
13. Bibi & Mofaz
Abu Yussef al Yahudi ,   Bue_Aires-Argentina   (05.08.12)
The agreement between Bibi and Mofaz proves that both of them are clever and witty. Surely this alliance will produce a New Era in the Government of the State of Israel. Surely this is a blow to the exteme Left, moreover this coalition is not going to suffer the blackmail of the religious parties, nor of Israel Beteinu, nor of the High Court. Kol Hakavod to the Likud and Kadima ! Hazak u Baruch to the new Government ! AM ISRAEL CHAI !

Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (05.08.12)
Netanyahu, Barak and Mofaz in the same cabinet would be any better than a self appointed leftist High Court? I'm deeply concerned!
15. recently PM Mr. Netanyahu said that he is the Navigator....
Emily ,   Israel   (05.08.12)
well it occurs to me that his equipment has malfunctioned and he is suffering from a serious Navigational Distortion!
16. slimeball + slimeball = slimeball to the power of 2
brian ,   london   (05.08.12)
17. Israel Should Be Thankful For Bibi
ACortez ,   Anaheim, CA, USA   (05.08.12)
This man has shown that he is exactly what Israel has needed. He will lead Israel forward in securing a long and lasting peace with the arabs. Jerusalem will remain under Israel's sovereignty and their enemies will know that the Jews will never be expelled from their land again. God bless Israel and all of it's people.
18. #12 David, Karmiel
Meir ,   Toronto Canada   (05.08.12)
What are you talking about? The date for the election is October 2013. The coalition is made up of more MK's than ever. Why is that not democratic exactly?
19. #17 u can see all that from Anaheim?! wow!
(05.08.12)
I'm truly impressed because clearly your opinion proves that you are myopic! Pity to waste all that sight on hot air!
