Arab terrorists attacked southern Israel with a Kassam rocket early Tuesday and attacked Jews in the Hevron area with two firebombs overnight as “Nakba Day” began. No one was injured. The rocket, fired from northern Gaza, exploded in an open area near Sderot, and the firebombs were hurled at IDF soldiers stationed at the village of El-Aroub, located less than one mile south of the Gush Etzion junction on Highway 60 leading to Kiryat Arba-Hevron.

Our breath is long..longer than yours. dont let the comfort of military hardware fool you. look around. you are the only "castle state" in the world. the reasons is obvious, you are a colony. colonizers are paranoid.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.15.12)
For the record, we know. That's why "negotiations" with you sorry terrorist lot are nothing but a sham. I admire your bravado and excessive use of hyperbole, but you might want to check out the facts. You haven't done all that well against us, and that will never change. We can grind you into dust pretty much whenever. The instant you stop having comedic value, that will happen. Hell, it's happening now. Naqba Day. LOL! I'll be out distributing sweets in celebration. Yay!!!!

14. Nakbah day to #6
daniela ,   panama   (05.15.12)
should be to recognize the catastrophe you, palestinians, have lived under false pretentions and promises. Under corrupt leaders. Catastrophe on an education of hate. Nakbha (catastrophe) to be a people who thinks that death is glory. And killing others is the road to heaven. There are many more Nakbhas in your palestinian lives (and arab lives) than the day you and your leaders decided to trow the jews to sea and were unsuccessful. Only when you will understand were your real tragedy resides, you, palestinians, will be able to start a fresh page in your history. Meanwhile, keep celebrating your 64 seconds of silence..but I think you will keep standing in silence for hours and hours thruout history..
15. Nakba
David ,   Frankfurt   (05.15.12)
seriously, everywhere in the world these troublemakers are looking for reasons to vandalize. Here in Germany, Salafist bastards are beating up police officers. There has never been anything like Palestine - the term Palestinian is a synonyme for religious national socialist! What a disgrace!
16. Obviously we do not have a PEACE PARTNER...........
Let's Be HONEST ,   Jerusalem   (05.15.12)
Obviously we do NOT have a PEACE PARTNER. If the PA truly wants to make peace with Israel its leaders must START by teaching the historical TRUTH to their people. It is the ARABS fault they were displaced. When they can accept this reality and start teaching it to their people INSTEAD of self serving historical lies, hate propoganda and support for terror THEN, and only then will we have a possible chance for honest, real and actual peace. Peace will not ever be achieved based on lies or a worthless piece of paper. Hearts and minds must be changed. And that starts with explaining and accepting the TRUTH.
17. Let's show them what a disaster really looks like!
(05.15.12)
DEPORT THEM TO IRAN!
18. #6
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (05.15.12)
Wissam is correct. Look at what happened since 1992. Under Shamir and Ahrens we defeated the Arab occupiers and almost had peace. Since then, every government has been implementing Wissam's dream. The Israeli press, "justice system" and academia seem to following Wissam's orders. Unless something happens, Wissam will win.
19. #6, #7
Logic ,   Israel   (05.15.12)
#6, You don't understand. Your cause to destroy Israel is a hopeless one. The Romans and Nazis are long gone, but the Jewish people remain. Have you given a moment to think why this is so? This is a country that will never give up independence, so recognizing that fact on your side will spare both sides a lot of agony. Your "inalienable" rights do not include defeating Israel and imposing your way. As I state below, it is possible to empathize with the pain of some Palestinians, but Israel cannot accept responsibility for your plight. #7 In our religion, we do not gloat over the defeats of others. Also, I do not see a problem identifying with the pain of the losing side without accepting responsibility for their plight, which belongs to Abdullah and Mufti Husseini.
20. SECURE BIG ISRAEL, Sinai back, nonviolent transfer, BALANCE.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (05.15.12)
21. To nr 6 - Where exactly is "Palestine" on the map?
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.15.12)
1) Why is "Palestine" a Roman/Latin name? 2) Why is there no letter "p" in Arabic? 3) Nationalism is alien to Arabs who have, for 1400 years, lived as nomads and Beduins in multi-ethnic and multi-racial "Arab" empires whose majority population - locals, subjects, soldiers, mercenaries, scientists, mathematicians, physicians and merchants, were no ethnic Arabs, merely Arab speaking Persians, Kurds, Turks, Jews, Berbers and Africans. Why is that? 4) There is no "Palestine" in the Bible or the Koran. Why? 5) The Bible and the Koran BOTH admit that Israel is the Jewish homeland. How come? 6) Jewish/Israelite history started 2000 B.C.E in Israel - 4000 years ago. Arab history of the original Arabians, started in the 7th century C.E. 1400 years ago, in the southwestern corner of the Arabian peninsula, hundreds of kilometers away from Israel, 2600 years AFTER the start of Jewish civilization. How can Arabs be the "natives" of Israel? 7) Most Arabs arrived in Israel as recently as the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. How is that ancient history and how does that make "Palestinians" the "natives"? 8) When and where exactly did a "Palestinian" state, republic, nation state, kingdom, city state, duchy, principality or empire exist in recorded history, what are the names of kings and dynasties, cities, towns, villages and currency and why is there not a single ancient civilization mentioning anywhere any "Palestinian" state, civilization, nation or people? No wissam: Jews are the historical, ancient and original population of Israel. You Arabs are the true colonizers since you have no history and no connection to our land. Every one of your "victories" too place not because of your will power or your motivation but because Israel agreed to meet your demands. You never achieve anything on your own. Pack your bags Wissam and leave my country -immediately.
22. Naqba Day: Another excuse for nationalistic fervor
usa   (05.15.12)
with the inevitable outcome of no viable state for the Palestinian Arabs. Put Naqba Day on the Arab Spring protest agenda and take it up with Jordan.
23. This is the result of 60 years of official PA hate education
And this is only 1/2 ,   the ugly picture   (05.15.12)
Do you think signing a piece of paper and giving them half of Israel will result in peace??? Let's see at LEAST one generation of serious TOLERANCE education from the PA before we even talk about real peace. These people are not going to change just because Obama said SIGN ON THIS LINE.
24. Good to remember the Day that God blessed Israel..
Anna M Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (05.15.12)
So the Fakestinian should always remember the day that God decided that all Jews should come back Home and for them start the day of going back to Arabia,Arabia=Arabs...Judea=Jews Time for everybody to get back home...Mecca is waiting since 64 years for palestinians
25. Nakba Day is commemorated all over Europe
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (05.15.12)
There are events in the UK and in the Netherlands. As a matter of fact interest in the Nakba is growing year after year. People want to know what happened in 1948. What is commemorated is the destruction of Palestine: more than 400 villages destroyed, their names erased from the maps, their inhabitants massacred, raped or expelled. More than 750.000 people were driven into exile.. The fact is that a Jewish state in Palestine could only have been established through the expulsion of the Palestinian arab majority population. By 1948 only 6% of the land was legally in the hands of the Zionist movement. The rest was Arab. Even after many years of immigration the clear majority in Palestine was Palestinian Arab. The zionist leadership knew and understood that only through war and expulsion could Israel be established. After the great Arab rising from 1936 -1939 against British policy was suppressed with brutal force (10% of the Palestinian Arab population of Palestine was killed, wounded, imprisoned or sent into exile) the Palestinians were severely weakened. They lost their most able political and military leaders in this struggle, which Britain only could suppress by bringing in thousands of troops from outside. In 1948 the Palestinian Arabs were in no position to resist the Zionist forces with any chance of success. This became clear during the civil war phase (from November 1947 to May 1948). The Palestinian militias were hopelessly outnumbered by the Jewish forces, which over the years had been allowed by Britain to become an army. By May 1948 already 300.000 Palestinians had been expelled from their villages, mostly in areas, which were in the territory allotted to the Jewish state, but also beyond that, in the territory marked for the Arab state. This was Plan Dalet, the blueprint for ethnic expulsion. The Arab armies, which entered the conflict after May were weak and divided and did not have the interests of the Palestinians at heart primarily. The outcome was never really in much doubt. During the whole phase the Jewish military forces not only outnumbered the Arab forces, but were able to get better weapons. The systematic ethnic cleansing continued into the 1950s. An Israeli government official described how from the Palestinian town of Lydda alone 1800 trucks of Palestinian possessions were looted. What could not be looted, was destroyed and what was destroyed was covered later with forests. Ancient names were wiped from the map or zionised by Israeli naming committees. It was a wholesale cultural genocide and it is happening to this very day. Nakba Day is about remembering this. We will never forget. The Palestinian people were not responsible for the Holocaust although Zionist propaganda is still trying to nazify all Arab resistance against Zionist colonialism. The solution can only be a one state solution with equal rights for all, irrespective of race, religious beliefs, gender etc. Israel can never lay its bloody past to rest without fundamentally addressing the Nakba of 1948.
26. WB= Warner Brother? Yehuda Shomron !
trumpeldor   (05.15.12)
27. To #6 and #26
Beary White ,   Norway   (05.15.12)
#6: I still wonder how islamic followers , like you, are not able to understand how you have been misleaded by your leaders since the time of the islamic beginning. You have stained your footsteps with blood from the beginning. Your hate and violence is just inhuman. Why are you not able to see this?? Is it because your deadly imams have brainwashed you from birth, and made it impossible to have open eyes?? #26. I totally agree with you.
28. It us utter lunacy to let them stay in Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.15.12)
Fifth columnists who openly call the blessed creation of Israel a "catastrophe" should have no place in our Holy Land. It is utter lunacy to let them stay in Israel. It is time to prepare concrete transfer plans.
29. #6 Wissam. You may as well wait for Atlantis to rise again.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.15.12)
#6 Wissam. That's some brainwashing you have, Wissam. This land has been ours for more than 3,500 years. We are here forever. You can hold your breath as long as you want but it won't change a thing. Palestine is forever fictional. You may as well wait for Atlantis to rise again. You may as well pretend to live in Oz.
30. #1. I wish Israel would punish our enemies properly
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.15.12)
#1. I wish you were correct. I wish Israel would begin punishing our genocidal enemies as they deserve. As the WW II Allies punished the Nazis for bombing their cities. However, it will never happen under the likes of Bibi. Israel would need a worthy P.M.
