1. Just shoes that they are above the law
Ilan   (05.15.12)
Reminds me how Dorit Beniesch husband escaped prosecution because no one wanted to get on her black list. Protekzia is still the name of the game

Let's chat about Ulpana now ....
3. Macro vision and micro vision.
Keren ,   IL-BR   (05.15.12)
People in their day by day lives have a micro vision about Israel(what is not a excuse for somebody in the government ,though) and some even may thinK that they are doing a "mitzvah"by employing ilegals and these refugees who are entering Israel like a pest,in their micro vision perspective. There must be a way to take people out from their day by day stupor and to make them start thinking as patriots in a more wholy vision. This current phenomenon might be something related to the basic education in Israel which is missing something....

6. Weinstein
Joe Sombrero ,   USA   (05.16.12)
In the US he would never have been AG. He has too much conflict of interest with various politions since he represented some including Ehud Olmert at least according to Wiki.
7. If the worker was legally in Israel when hired, why
Rivkah   (05.16.12)
is Mrs. Weinstein being prosecuted? Is she to check the legal status of her workers daily to be sure something didn't happen to change their status?
8. Worker
SD Charger ,   San Diego   (05.16.12)
What do you mean they can't locate him to question him? The old, he simply disappeared act, eh? How much did that cost the AG? Give the AG a break, his house was cluttered up.
9. He is what he's always been...
gelb   (05.16.12)
a settler/patriotic Jews-hater far-left radical, extremist. No excuses any more!!!
10. #6 difference between US and Israel
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (05.16.12)
In the US, the conflict of interest means he'd never get the job. In Israel, conflict of interest means he helps his leftist friends which is the only reason he got the job.
11. To: No. 7
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.16.12)
Actually, yes, it is her responsibility. She should have checked the date the worker's visa expired, and made sure that if he did not extend his visa, his employment would be terminated. But we don't have all the details yet. Perhaps he entered Israel on a tourist visa, in which case he would not have been eligible for employment in a private home. The only people eligible to work in Israel who enter on tourist visas are kibbutz volunteers. Should he in fact have entered Israel on a tourist visa, and was hired by Mrs. Weinstein in any event, she has considerably more to answer for.
