So the Syrian opposition and Assad's government agree -- Israel is to blame for everything. Yes, I know the opposition condemns Israel as an ally of Assad, and Assad says the same about Israel aligning with the opposition. But that's just a small detail. But it also explains why I don't take anything coming out from the Arab side seriously. My main worry are calls from leading Republicans, such as Romney and McCain, for the US to arm the opposition. Even the proposal for humanitarian aid being considered by Obama worries me. Doesn't anyone in Washington know what is going on in the Middle East?

I really thought that this burhan gulion know better(no wonder why he wanna quit). the syrian goverment used the israeli card to keep marshal law and to give reason for the west that they shouldn't support the revolution because they kept the border silent all those years not because they are ally with israel but because they knew that the regime will be kicked out of goverment if they attacked not by israel but by the west(especially US) either by using more sanctions or by military invasion...

Evidently the Syrian's have not bled enough. The so called opposition has not figured out that Israel has not killed off any of their thousands of casualties. Hezbollah and Iran have been part of the killing as have been the Russians. But, Arabs run true to form: blame the Jews and if at all possible, blame the Americans.

The same false doctrine that espouses "Palestinian " peoplehood and identity also advocates other fictitious identities in the Middle East that never hisyorically existed. One is the "Jordanian" identity and the other is the "Syrian" identity. yhe word Syria was and is synonymous with Assyria. The creation of the Syrian republic was initially meant to create a safe haven and ultimately a country for the Assyrians but it was taken over by he Arabs like everything else and should be given back to them. Aramaic shkuld slowly replace Arabic in northern mesopotamia. The international community must do everything to erase the vesties of the Arab occupation of Mesopotamia and the Levant and give the indegenous people there independence and sovereignty to revive their culture and language.

Arabs CANNOT make peace with Israel. Without Israel to blame for all the death, poverty, destruction, misery and oppression across Islam, who will the Islamic people blame?
