Marcel Adams should be commended for his contribution and should serve as an example to Zionist philanthropists world-wide. R&D is an engine of jobs and growth. Israel is a small enough country that a few thousand brilliant researchers make a huge difference. More money needs to go to supporting it in universities and way more money needs to go into programs like this that bring people that receive degrees abroad back to Israel.

Wealthy and not-so-wealthy Diaspora Jews continue to fund programs, research, and facilities in Israel's centers of higher education. (I'm one of those "not-so-wealthy".) But where are Israel's own wealthy, especially those who made it big in high-tech? Rather scarce, it would seem.

have not gotten over the fact that they have to act to promote and grow their own country. Its still in the mooch schnorrer stage of development and it will take time for the Israelis to wake up and start taking command of their own lives and indeed their own country. We Jews have been the n----s of the world for the past 2000 years. It takes time to become a nation.

For highest level research the candidates need access to laboratories and collaboration from colleagues around the world. Funding is needed and often comes from international sources. Papers need to be presented at international conferences. For all these reasons Israel will do well not to stay isolated socially, politically and economically.

Deserving direction for gift & should light the way for others to give.
