2. If I gift the settlements will they stay?
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (05.21.12)
When the Nation of Israel stops moving settlers, let me know. I wont give money to keep wandering Jews unsafe in Israel.
3. Um, Split #1. Aren't you a thief then?
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (05.21.12)
Unless you're the less than 1% of America that is native American, then you, Split, are an occupation settler land grabber yourself. Face it, we Israelis at least have the legitimate claim that this is indeed our native homeland. Jews come from Israel, not Siberia or California. You, on the other hand, are most likely not a native or a refugee from native american lands. We Jews here were refugees waiting to get back to our national homeland. We're here. You, Split, are just a thief, aren't you?
4. Judea and Samaria deserve to thrive mightily.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.21.12)
Israel would not last a decade without our ancestral heartland. Any child capable of reading a map knows that. Judea and Samaria deserve our massive support. It is impossible to do too much to make Judea and Samaria thrive mightily.

It is not possible to steal that which is yours. Four errors in a seven word post. It certainly does go a long way toward explaining why you are so poorly informed about the Middle East and international law. Perhaps you should stick with Dr. Seuss.

Jerusalem was formally unified in June 1967, and East Jerusalem and surrounding areas were annexed. Jerusalem is Israel's eternal capital. It always has been.

Interesting statement... Please name the goverments or major international organizations that have recognized this annexation.
12. Land Theft legalized by a coalition of Land Thieves.
Alan Smith UK   (05.22.12)
Israel's only tenuous claim to the West Bank is based on religious myth and historical fantasy. That said, all Israeli settlements in occupied territory violate article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention and International Law - to give tax breaks for land theft on that basis makes me wonder whether Israelis live in the real world, or have exchanged their own God for the God of Mammon.

You missed my point. The annexation is fully legal. It doesn't matter who does or does not recognize it. The world applies a special set of rules to the State of Israel that differs from those applied to any other sovereign state. That said, please do keep in mind that East Jerusalem was non-sovereign territory. It was acquired by Israel in the course of fighting a DEFENSIVE war against Jordan. International law under such circumstance is really quite clear -- the victor may settle, keep and even annex non-sovereign territory acquired in the course of fighting a defensive war. Moreover, Israel did extend Israeli citizenship to all non-Israelis living within the territory annexed, just as Israel did when the Golan Heights were formally annexed. Of course, that is a gift, and not required under international law. Israel could very easily have repatriated all the Arabs living in East Jerusalem to Jordan, because they are Jordanian citizens. Similarly, the Arabs living in the Golan Heights were citizens of Syria. But no, Israel opted to be generous. And while so many of the Arabs of East Jerusalem and environs are terrorist monsters, I note for the record that they are quite content to be Israeli citizens, where their standard of living far exceeds that of average Arabs throughout the Middle East. For the record, the United States has recognized the reunification of Jerusalem and every administration since Lyndon Johnson has promised to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. Of course, those have proven to be empty promises, but we have come to expect no less from American administrations. Finally -- Jordan has tried for decades to revoke its 1954 Citizenship Law which conferred Jordanian citizenship upon all West Bank Arabs and their progeny irrevocably. The Hague has consistently rejected such efforts, ruling that an irrevocable grant of citizenship is precisely that -- irrevocable. By the way -- when is the United States planning to divest itself of Arizona, New Mexico and southern California, which were illegally annexed via the Gadsden Purchase? How about the expropriation of native American lands under the guise of treaties that the United States never had any intention of honoring? Sauce for the goose, baby, is sauce for the gander -- even when it involves anti-Semitism and hatred of the State of Israel. You cannot apply one set of rules to one nation and a different set of rules to every other nation. Israel's unification of Jerusalem is de jure, as well as de facto. I don't see any country willing to put boots on the ground to undo it, do you? I guess you should busy yourselves with putting boots on the ground to liberate Tibet first, eh?

How would you characterize the U.K.'s theft of six northern counties from the Republic of Ireland? By the way -- read up on international law. The Fourth Geneva Convention does not apply to non-sovereign territory, and certainly does not prohibit settlement, retention and annexation of non-sovereign territory. The presumption is that the people residing in such areas will remain in situ, but that only applies to stateless people. The Arabs residing in the West Bank are all Jordanian citizens, courtesy of Jordan's 1954 Citizenship Law, which has been consistently upheld by The Hague, despite Jordan's never-ending efforts to revoke that law. They are, thus, subject to repatriation to Jordan should Israel annex Judea and Samaria. And we will. There are consequences to waging wars of aggression. Just ask Germany, who lost 25% of its land mass following World II. Just ask Italy, who lost the entire province of Istria. Just ask Japan, who lost the island of Iwo Jima (which was subsequently restored in 1968) and the island of Okinawa, 90% of which remains under United States control. The Arabs have been the aggressors in six wars against Israel. They have lost all six. How many bites at the apple do you think they deserve? How many bites at the apple did the Allies give Germany, Italy and Japan following World War II? Moreover, Israel has had to endure over seven decades of unrelenting terror on the part of the ersatz "Palestinians," visited against Jews both in Israel and in the Diaspora. We are not the U.K. We will not knuckle under to a violent and belligerent Arab / Moslem minority, even if all of Europe has done precisely that. How sad for you. Europe is dying -- I say "good riddance."

We also know he is functionally illiterate and quite stupid. I have never seen a native speaker of English with such perfectly awful "command" of the language. My guess would be that he dropped out of school in the sixth grade. Or stopped paying attention, at any rate.

More fool you. I pay taxes in both the United States and in Israel. Two different tracks, with very different rules and regulations. I don't claim the taxes I pay to one country on the taxes I pay to the other country, because each has different taxing policies. IRS audit? Are you on drugs? Only Israeli taxpayers will be able to take advantage of the new taxing policy. Since most duals continue to pay taxes in the United States, their returns filed in the United States will not be able to take advantage of the new policy concerning settlements. Only their Israeli-filed returns can claim that benefit. Don't you know anything?
17. International criminals LMAO
Glen ,   Queens   (05.22.12)
We'll see Sarah B.,,,, sounds like you may be talking yourself into an AUDIT at this very moment,, I think you better put a lid on it, this big Ponze scheme that is the state of Israel and the criminal enterprise of the settlements as BiBi calls it, you know he calls the settlements an "Enterprise",,, is gonna get you people in trouble and you first internationally,,,,, shih not so loud.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.22.12)
Honey, I pay more in quarterly estimated taxes to the United States and to New York State than you will earn in your lifetime. Are you a tax cheat? I suspect you are, hence your knowledge of audits. Do you also engage in fraudulent transactions? Is that why you know about Ponzi (note proper spelling) schemes? The settlements are not enterprises, but many do operate businesses -- do you know how many ersatz "Palestinians" would be unemployed without them? They are not illegal. Contributions made to settlements in Israel are tax-deductible exclusively in Israel. But why are you so spiteful and jealous? Is it because American Jews contribute annually to Jewish philanthropies more than all Americans contribute to the American Cancer Society? Those ARE tax-deductible And I am quite certain that, despite the fact that contributions made by American Jews to Israeli settlements are not tax-deductible, there will be no shortage of willing contributors among the Jewish community in the United States. Eat your heart out, nitwit.
