As you make believe you are totally oblivious of the situation of Arab citizens in Israel as you prefer not to deal in facts: You are from Jerusalem. Arabs residing in Jerusalem were given the choice of Israeli citizenship if they pledge their allegiance to the State of Israel (a citizenship requirement in every other country in the world). Many chose not to obtain citizenship for this reason and remain residents with “ residency permits only”

It seems that nothing has changed since I lived in Jerusalem, Israel, including the arabs’ fear and denial of the truth.

You make generalizations, which technically makes your preferences to not deal with facts. Technically Arabs in Jerusalem have the right to apply for citizenship, the real question is who or how many of them actually get the citizenship after going through 'the process'? I can tell you of first hand experience regarding this or you can go find out more on the internet, either way you will not like (or maybe you will) what you find. And that is not much of an excuse anymore since plenty of Arabs would be willing to utter that they 'pledge allegiance to israel', proof being of the Arabs actually having the 'citizenship'.
