Talkbacks Greece: Neo-Nazi party holds march

The vast majority of Greeks are strongly opposed to extremists like Golden Dawn (much like most Israelis are opposed to Israeli extremists that wish to remove all non-Jews in Israel). Many Greeks are just angry at our mainstream parties (see out botched fiances). They are also upset out government has done nothing to stem the massive tide of illegal immigrants. Israel of all nations knows how important screening migrants can be to national security in a rough neighborhood. . There is also a degree of anger towards some foreigner bigots that now dishonestly pretend not to notice the former Yugoslav republic's change into "ancient Macedonians" and threats against our homeland. (imagine if Egyptions renamed themselves "ethnic Harmonicas" and claimed Israel their occupied homeland to understand how we feel about the issue). Most Greeks want a good relationship with Israel. If push comes to shove we would rather align with Israel than irrational ogres like Golden Dawn. While Hitler claimed to be a patriot and concerned with German interests in the end he brought tragedy to both other nations and his own. There are just extremists in every country and other countries have to understand that extremists by definition don't represent the norm. Jews of all people understand how painful it is to be negative stereotyped based on the actions of the few. Shalom.
