There are 60,000+ here already and an average of 3000 extra every month sneaking in. The government is now boasting that it is preparing to deport 1500, just 50% of an average monthly infiltration. The Africans are also just the tip of the iceberg because we have a huge problem with economic migrants from outside of these conflict zones who are coming here illegally looking for the good life or coming on a short term work permit and deciding not to go home when the visa ends. Its time for the government to adopt a zero tolerance policy towards all illegals and people illegally overstaying their welcome. Allow the police to draft the army if needed but just stop people at random if they cannot prove they are supposed to be here arrest them and lock them up in detention centres. This may even be the national service we can give to some of the haredi. Train them and get them to help the police, considering we are deporting non Jews from the Jewish state I imagine they would have plenty of motivation. Until the government starts deporting in the tens of thousands they won't be getting any praise from me.

The people in power who allowed this situation with illegal migrants in which they were allowed in the country should all be jailed. This includes Eli Yishai, The Prime Minister, and all judges. What a disgrace.

EU countries like France are tougher on illegals than Israel is and apart from the demographic issue they are much richer and its a much bigger country. This whole boast that they are sending back 1500 by March is just a bad joke. Apart from the 60,000+ here already there are an average of 3000 new ones coming into the country every month. That means that 9 months from now when March comes around there will be an average 27,000 new illegals so you take away the 1500 the government is planning to deport ( providing the bleeding heart liberals don't find a way to stop it ) there will still be another 24,500 new ones to take their place. We should be condemning the government for planning to get rid of just 1500 and the fact it will take them 9 months to do it.

I'm myself in disagreement with what I'm going to say -- but Israel, as a sovereign state, has right to deport non-citizens any time the state finds it's appropriate. That's the unfair side of any state in the world -- Israel included.

To be considered a refugee the person be in the 1st country that they enter besides their own. So unless they flew directly from either Sudan or South Sudan they had to enter at least one other country before coming here. They are either refugees in Egypt or Sudan, but not Israel. The illegal means against the law - so deport every foreign criminal to their own lands.

But it also means that for those who are here already we need to treat them justly and humanely, even as we look for other places for them to live, even if that means absorbing some others.
