BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (06.14.12)
All of the above. including married women who don't cover their heads
33. Solomon #23
R ,   Israel   (06.14.12)
It already did happen, and was on the evening news about a week ago. And it is not what I would wish for. I think either way the lack of tolerance is disgusting.
34. #33 R - please provide details
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.14.12)
Otherwise how can people believe you? Yes, lack of tolerance is disgusting. But it usually flows from one direction, not the other. Ask those who are not hareidi.
35. offend?
Mari   (06.14.12)
"We are trying not to offend our religious clientele." but offending the secular clientele is ok? If this was my supermarket I would stop using it. I go the market to get groceries not to be insulted
36. #26 it is a supermarket not a synagogue
laura   (06.14.12)
it is a supermarket for crying out loud- and they give you a coat that has been worn by hundreds of sweaty people before? Is that better?
37. #32 WRONG
Netanya ,   Netanya   (06.14.12)
Women only have to put on a lab type coat, nothing more. I am married, went into a store like that and was told to put on the coat, that is all. Why try lying here? Guess it is the best way for you to feel like you have made a point (the only point is your arrogance and lack of respect for others.)
38. #36 The Coats are Clean! END
Netanya ,   Netanya   (06.14.12)
39. All customers are kings
Charles ,   Petach Tikva .   (06.15.12)
So , don't set up special rules . Why not ask then that men wear a kippa ? or tsitsit ? Put a second poster SANE secular people NOT welcome . The same as in the 30's : Juden verboten .
40. #21 is Right; Haredi Chutzpah
Brana Lobel ,   Israel   (06.15.12)
Way too much social conformity masquerading as religiosity when it is clear in the Talmud and underlined by the Ramchal that excessive piety--being machmir--is in most cases off the mark and counterproductive. It approaches the sin of intolerance for our fellow humans. Those who make the Taliban comparison are unfortunately correct.
41. Is Israel becoming Iran?! mor like Sdom or Las vegas
rebecca ,   Modiin   (06.15.12)
The moment someone asks for a bit more modesty the cry goes out "Iran Iran". When Tel Aviv hosts a gay pride march every one is happy - well no, those who are not happy stay away. So I suggest you stay away from this shop.
42. 39 Charles Such a hateful post ! !
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.15.12)
I d better ignore all your posts. They are to painful.
43. Ora , no more "hatefull" as those of moshe
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (06.15.12)
for whom only those observing G-d's laws are Jews . But there you don't react , my dear .
44. never seen the queens cleavage!
M.M   (06.15.12)
People with self respect have no need to walk around like that
45. 43 Charles,My last for a while...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.15.12)
It is precisely because i had such a deep esteem for you ,that it is so painful. Shabat Shalom, my NO dear.
46. Ora , You forgot "elephant skin" !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (06.17.12)
There was nothing hatefull in my # 39 . Maybe that you are to sensitive ? My "my dear" was a little bit sarcastic . Have a fine week .
47. 46 Charles TRY3 Yes you struck..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.18.12)
on a sensitive chord,by comparing the Haredi man who imposed rules in HIS shop ,to Germans.
48. Ora , Elephant skin !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (06.18.12)
What should i say then when some , religious , say that we live in filth ? And that's not a "comparison" [ as you wrongly think ] but an insult . I never meant to hurt you .
49. 48 Charles,May be you should...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.18.12)
better identify your target.
50. Standards of Modesty
Joe ,   Baltimore, USA   (06.19.12)
When my parents retired to Fort Lauderdale, Florida they were surprised to find women in bikinis and high heels shopping in the local supermarkets. Back up North women put on beach coats when they walked beyond the sea shore. Every place has its own standards of modesty.
51. Royal Ascot
Joseph ,   London England   (06.19.12)
The dress code for the Royal Enclosure have been tightened up this year after complaints about immodest attire last year. Women's skirts should be down to the knee, tops should be modest and women's hats should cover most of the top of the head. Men should stick to black or grey morning dress and keep on their top hats. Women dressed immodestly will be given shawls to cover themselves. If you don't believe this check any British newspaper on line.
52. Good idea to post true Torah quotes in public.
Josh   (07.12.12)
It is a mitzvah to maintain a good society. I do not agree with haredi "fence law" additions but I also do not believe in a society that promotes sleezy dress. It is just one more reminder of how good a society we could be if the "daughters" avoid dressing like street walkers. Col Hakavod for nearly getting this one right. Now they should invest a little more that a marker and paper to making signs. Make one "you shall not add or subtract".
