There were Jewish people in Poland for hundreds of years. They liked to live quietly in rural villages or shtetls, where they could enjoy one another's company, work as artisans, and pray in their synagogues, study in their yeshivas. The Nazis destroyed 17000 villages occupied mainly by Jews, and 90% of Polish Jews were murdered, many with Polish collaboration. They mistakenly felt safe, thinking their Catholic neighbours were their friends, even though those same neighbours took part in pogroms against them. Perhaps they remained because they hoped the hatred would stop, and because their families had been there for hundreds of years - they knew nothing else. Try to remember that Judaism is far, far older than Catholicism. And I can say categorically that yes, Polish behaviour towards Jews has always been disgusting. Just look at the behaviour now at Euro 2012 where Poles are screaming "Die, Jewish whores" at the opposing team. Why can you not just leave us alone, "split"?
