What tottal nonsense, the women is clueless. Being gay is not some alteranative life style choice it is a persons sexual orientation. Her homophobic and uneducated comments not only highlights her stupidity and ignorance it incites hatred and prejudice. Every gay teenager that commits suicide should be on her head. Well im gay, and over 40, have a partner of over 20 years and two wonderfull children and if i say so a great life ! I have no desire to be a women thankyou very much, nothing against women at all we have lots of female friends. Maybe she should make the effort to get to know some gay people she might be surprised to know that we are just like ordinary people, your doctor, dentist, lawyer and so on. How sad in this day and age a women of political power is tottaly clueless of reality.

What kind of representation, do we as Israeli's receive, from such a bigoted MK? "The Homosexual" as she degrades, is a human, a person. All she sees, is a sex act. Her mind is so polluted by hate and bigotry, that she feels this kind of vomit needs to be spewed in an open political forum. I am embarrassed as an Israeli, to have such a "person", in such a high place. I am disgusted by this, and I call for censure, repudiation, and boycott of all her business dealings.

(yep I remember the water throwing episode in the Knesset & the rest of you should remember it too) This is the 2nd time she's gone against the party's line in a BIG WAY. I have a feeling she won't be on the Israel Beitenu list for the next Knesset because as the party itself says: "Michaeli's statements are her own opinion and do not represent the party" (and of course we all remember what happened to former MK Esterina Tartman -- so very soon we can all say "Bye Bye Michaeli!"

It's so easy to fact check things on the web so I don't understand why people don't do. Just spouting what you think must be the case simply makes the person look foolish later.

Michael, if you quote lifescience then you should also quote the statement from the same article ""When communities support their gay young people, and schools adopt anti-bullying and anti-discrimination policies that specifically protect lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth, the risk of attempted suicide by all young people drops, especially for LGB youth." It's not being gay which makes you suicidal but a non-accepting environment, like those statements of Michaeli.

People were created to be on a higher level than animals and the Jewish nation on a higher spiritual level than non-Jews. But if all they do is eat, sleep, and do immoral acts, they're worse than animals.

It really depends in what you believe in. Yes there are many gays who are happy with life, some with a partner others without. Then there is the question of are you “born that way” Well if you think you were not then you may want to find out what happened to make you that way. There are many reasons one can put a finger on, sexual abuse, over weight as a kid and being made fun of, trauma in the school showers well not everyone was born looking the same, those quiet good little boys and mummy’s boys, the list goes on. Those types are normally the unhappy ones that may lead to suicide, these are the ones looking for answers, and these are the ones looking to change. But the happy gay person will tell you he was born that way and tell anyone who tries to explain that you were not will tell you to f*** off. So if you think it’s in your genes then explain to me how you can have a set of identical twins and one is gay and one is not. It’s a bit like saying what came first the egg or the chicken. I met many ex gays who have belonged to groups that helped them change, Journey Into Manhood for one and JONAH. Yes people will tell you it’s a load of nonsense. But I don’t think so.

Not being able to "cure" homosexuality or feeling sorry for homosexuals doesn't change that. Genetics, other science or politics doesn't change it either. The bible still prohibits homosexual acts. Does Israel choose to disregard the bible?

Is she implying that their "gayness" causes them to be miserable? She's ignoring a common cause: that we treat gays as second class citizens. One example is the issue of gay marriage. So by the time they're 40, they've realized there's no hope that they can marry like the rest of us and that they have to exist at the margin as second class citizens. You would be happy in that situation, wouldn't you MK?

Michaeli is not the only one in the Knesset that is sadly misrepresenting the Israeli public. A change in our voting system is much too long overdue.
