In China prisoners are polite, respectful and they are not threatening. People feel secure in prisons. I trust that Israeli prisoners must learn to be polite.

Regardless of my personal view regarding his guilt or innocence, this man SHOULD NOT have been imprisoned with common criminals! Fine, the system found him guilty and he should be punished accordingly. He should have been remanded to house arrest or some other form of incarceration that takes into consideration his previous high standing in society. Do you think I don't recognize a railroad job when I see one? I know that Katsav is a convicted rapist. I also know that the so-called "evidence" would not have passed muster in the most grassroots of kangaroo courts. Katsav was not allowed to present witnesses to corroborate his innocence; he was not allowed to present character witnesses. Not even in limine. His accuser, on the other hand, was allowed to bring unsupported charges of rape, despite there being no rape kit in evidence (you don't wait years to bring charges); and the defense was forbidden to raise the point that she had cried "rape" before (the charges were dismissed for lack of evidence) and to introduce character evidence (she has a criminal record) -- the Court ruled it "irrelevant." The trial was over before it even started; the outcome was pre-determined and the whole episode a disgraceful sham. All in all, a very black day for Israeli jurisprudence.

You obviously do not know enough the law and the appropriate conduct of trials.
