1. haredi-riots in Jerusalem
Moshe Ben-Gideon ,   Emmendingen, Germany   (06.16.12)
nothing new. During my studies at the HUJ in 1976 I noticed crowds of Haredi opposit of a restaurant, name FINCK near BeYehuda, shouting Shabbos when Finck opened exactly at the beginnung of Shabbat. Police and mounted Police was coming to stop the rioting black crowds, very often calling the police officers "nazis".
2. The Sectants of Israel
iJew ,   Israel   (06.16.12)
State of Israel should ban all this extremist sects like hasidi, haredi , neturei carta and so on, they're one of the main problem of the conflicts in Israel...and besides this, all this sectants dont want to work , they dont want to serve inthe army becouse they dont recognise the State of Israel (but they benefit 100% from its support) and they suck a lot of money from the pockets of the working israeli citizens.
3. These nutbars are not Jews they are nothing more
Al   (06.16.12)
than 'dreck'. They along with the ultra lkeft are one of the same. USELESS...they ought to cut off welfare and that would be the end of it. To my mind the orthoquack and the uber left are a threat to the survival of Israel.
4. They're not behaving as Jews
grandma ,   USA   (06.16.12)
One of the cardinal precepts of Judaism is "Love thy neighbor as thyself." They claim to be "students", but the Torah decrees universal military service for all males between 20 and 50 - with 1-year exemption for the bridegroom, new home-owner - and the Mishna states that in an existential war, all must serve, even the bridegroom and the bride. These sectarians are a cult and Israelis should vote for candidates who make them shoulder the burdens of citizenship or banish them to live in a state they recognize as valid.
5. Heredim please take note..
Ivan ,   South Africa   (06.16.12)
you do not own Jerusalem, show respect to others and they will show you the same respect..
6. when will ynet stop inciting against haredim?
Ephraim ,   Tapuah   (06.16.12)
7. I find them threatening
Jay ,   Israel   (06.16.12)
I find them scary especially that they overpopulate. Any normal person in the country which is so small have only 2-3 children. These people have 8-10. I am not sure what we will do when they become majority :(
8. IDF
DANNY TAWIL ,   ENGLAND   (06.16.12)
SEND THEM TO THE ARMY IF THEY DONT LIKE IT SEE IF THEY LIKE PRISON AND LOSS OF FREEDOM
9. SEND THEM TO IRAN.
DANNY TAWIL ,   ENGLAND   (06.16.12)
SEND THEM TO IRAN, THEY ARE NOT WANTED IN GOD,S COUNTRY
10. Their specific overalls
K'f'r b'l' ah (?)   (06.16.12)
are not suited for an outside 95° F temp. No wonder their brains go funny too!
11. and this is going to entice people to keep shabbat?
tsfatisha ,   tsfat   (06.16.12)
1 throwing stones is muxar and so these guys are breaking shabbat. 2 how is shouting at people going to endear secular people to torah and mitzvot? why don't they invite people to partake in a nice kiddush instead?
12. Reminding everyone to not be religious

13. #6 - When the Heredim get jobs and serve in the IDF.
Scott ,   USA   (06.16.12)
14. "This is not how Jewish woman dress?"
John ,   Europe   (06.16.12)
And just how they dress? It is very known that in the middle of the dessert Meleck David used to carry fur hat on his head - of course. Because it was too cold, probably. Also, it is well known fact that 19 century rain coats were common in Temple times. I mean, Melek Solomon used them, no?
15. @7
Robert ,   Romania   (06.16.12)
No need to worry. If they become a majority and do not change, Israel will be a pariah state: no one will back it anymore, the US for sure not, while the Europeans will downright sanction Israel.
16. Haredi are a huge drain on everything
David ,   USA   (06.16.12)
Most of them do not work or even serve in the IDF. They just pop out dozens of kids and collect state welfare checks. Majority of them have an education of less than a 3rd grader if that. Israel needs to reign them in or this Country is not going to survive if they ever take power.
17. STOP REPORTING LIES & DISTORTING THE TRUE FACTS
(06.16.12)
ISRAEL SADISTIC BRUTAL VICIOUS ANTI-SEMITIC Police were VIOLENTLY beating and assaulting peaceful protesters FOR NO REASON without them wearing identification tags.
18. #2 iJ, Agree with you, they need to be kicked out of Israel.
Michael ,   California, USA   (06.16.12)
If they resist, treat them like the illegal immigrants, not sparing any force. Some will call it a civil war, which is inevitable, unfortunately. This is the price Israel must pay for its unfinished establishment, without a constitution, without defining itself as a modern state.
19. have they stopped to think that...
(06.16.12)
their rally and rioting without permits on Shabbat causes a far far greater desecration of Shabbat than if they stayed home with their families?
20. i agree
Gvirah ,   virginia usa   (06.17.12)
i think they are right in what they are doing. it is right and they are calling all G-D people to be holy. when we get to the land there will be a greater level of holyness required of us. what will we say them to Adonia? no get out of israel?
21. Rubber Bullets
Max Merbaum ,   Los Angeles   (06.17.12)
are shomer shabbes.
22. regarding the dress code of some Israeli women
Julie ,   Israel   (06.17.12)
I must say that, after making Aliyah from Canada and landing in my first day of Ulpan, I was in shock at the state of dress of the young Russian women. (the majority of whom were not Jews, but had the privilege of being here on "Aliyah"-many wore gold crosses). I truly thought these women were from a brothel. That was in 2003. I truly wish that some of our young, Jewish women of Israel WOULD dress more modestly. The Haredim are quite right on this. Also, I don't understand why many seculars seem to have the personal goal of stripping Israel of everything Jewish. Even Shabbat is too much for them to acknowledge. I don't see the point to their living in Israel, the only Jewish place in the world.
23. Secular antiharedi are so quick in believing ynet's baloneys
(06.17.12)
against haredim. They buy anything like fools.
24. #2 & #18
(06.17.12)
The real illegal ones in the Jewish state are the irreligious ones who sadly know nothing about their Jewish heritage. Israel is a state for Torah Jews and that's the only reason Israel can claim being the rightful owners of the land. If not for the Torah, Israel has no right throwing the Arabs out.
25. #19 You're talking shtuyot!
(06.17.12)
There was absolutely no desecration of Shabbat with the peaceful protest. Read #17 to see what happened.
26. #11 is right
Jonmol ,   NY NY USA   (06.17.12)
The Lubavitchers welcome all Jews and try to get people to see the beauty of Jewish traditions and observance. I know of many non-observant Jews who returned to practicing Judaism because of their experience with Chabad. Compare that to the behavior of those who desecrate the Sabbath by rock throwing and insulting women whuile refusing to serve the country. For those who are borderline observant, the behavior of these people and their appearance is a turn-off to everything that is Jewish.
27. ask a rabbi
Shmuel ,   Brazil   (06.17.12)
Dear rabbi, is it throwing stones on Shabbos permit? Shavua tov...

29. Haredim protest 'Shabbat desecration
connie mack ,   Camden   (06.17.12)
You wrote: "One of the protesters also threw a soda can at one of the secular women." Who decided that the victim was "secular"? On what criteria did she/he base that identification? Your integrity is severely compromised when you make , accept or print frivolously arbitrary declarations about other peoples' religious commitments and affiliations. Did you ask the woman whether she is indeed secular? It is bad enough that you take the liberty to call hooligans dressed in long black coats "Haredim". Dear readers: In your opinion, what must a person do or believe in order to deserve the title "secular"?
30. #24, What do you know about what's legal or illegal?
Michael ,   California, USA   (06.17.12)
You are supported by our taxes, do nothing with your miserable life, you mean nothing to anybody and this includes your Kaddosh Baruh Hu. The Kaddosh and us disregard your pitiful soul as if it didn't exist. The best you can do as a comeback is to get yourself a job of some sort. It will be tough to do since you don't possess any education.
