31. Don't worry....
Jon   (06.25.12)
...if you ask nicely the US will save your assess and pressure Egypt to retain the peace treaty , after all you have no clout among the other countries in the region
32. Neither Egypt nor Iran Are Major Threats
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (06.25.12)
Lets not panic folks. Just as Hamas/Fatah still have no agreement, Egypts overtures to Iran are problemtic. Egypt is Sunni, Iran Shia. Both will want to lead the mid-East. Iran fought to a standstill againt Iraq (using US equipment, millions died. Israel defeated the might of Egypt/Syria, etc., in 6 days, when it had 4-6 nukes, now it has 500. The key is still taking out Irans nuke program and either Hamas/or Hezbollah, its surrogate. Regional balance..only means becoming nuke powers. which the US/Israel and others have decried. Les face it folks, 25 nukes over Iran, 10 over Egypt including the Aswan Dam..and its all over but the virgins waiting. Yes, there will be problems form the Sinai and Gaza,,but Israel can handle that. Are you listening JSt. Do you still want to "talk" to Iran? And you Charedi..do you expect other Jews to fight for you? You are a schonda.
33. Arab Spring is Now Summer Tornado
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (06.25.12)
(cont): The UN and US forced Israel out of the Sinai, and afterwards the Strip and Lebanon. At all these junctures, Israel had the upper hand and could have destroyed Hamas/Hez and sent tanks into Cairo. Hillary and Obama applauded Mubarak's departure by force, while we were stil lending Egypt 2b year. Now Hillary says we cannot aid Syria..its up to them. Both she, and her boss want to talk to Iran, while Iran makes treaties with Egypt..and most likely Syria. Israels hands are tied, told to lay off, and let the US decide Iran's fate. US so-called oeftiswt peace groups and some in Israel still beliee in miracles. While Israel can contain fascist Islam..it will be at a great cost. Thanks Charedi, thanks Obama, thanks Thomas Friedman. The many dead Jews will be on your heads. The Arab Spring has turned into the summer tornado.
34. obama is no friend of israel and is an idiot
dovdevan ,   ashdod,paris   (06.25.12)
we can thank him for all his failure in the middle east arena during his mandate we all witnessed the strength of the radical islam all around israel as well as the failure in the iranian issue
35. Jewish Unity and Determination Preserved
zivron   (06.25.12)
This will preserve Jewish Unity and undercut Territorial Concessions .Its bad news for Fatah--- Assad and the Judged Saddam Husseins partners in barbarity.
36. "Reviewing"treaty means Israeli Sinai !
trump   (06.25.12)
This "president" would better ponder the implications of his thorough thinking.
37. #12: Dude, this was a US policy coup, not a muslim one
inetfraud ,   US-IL   (06.25.12)
You actually think there was nothing Obama could have done? Then why did he fund the activists who STARTED THE REVOLUTION IN EGYPT, FUND the Muslim brotherhood and before the announcement of who won the presidency was even announced, why did Obama and Clinton practically fall over themselves to say that Morsi had won and there was 'no turning back'? It was Obama's (US's) doing, as is Syria, Libya, Algeria and the other North African nations. That's first: second, yes, the neighborhood is indeed changing: the entire middle east has been forced into a position where they have to be more self-reliant...which means...FAIL or they have to deal with a rubics cube of diplomacy that has been built like a cage around them (thanks to the US). They have ZERO industrial capabilities; all they have is oil which has been rapidly replaced by the US's own reserves and Canada's oil and Shale (and you should note ISRAEL'S new discovery of oil ON THEIR LAND (not the WB) and offshore which is said to amount to 10 times the amount of oil Saudi Arabia has (the experts from BP and Shell estimated)). So, you're dead wrong about the 'change' in the neighborhood concerning your perspective. If you can't see that the US/West has just shut the ME up in a lock-box, your blind. The US & Europe have been controlling the world for 65 years without letting up and accomplished every single thing they laid out before them, including destroying communism, taking back eastern Europe, crushing Russia into a perpetual state of change and decay (and please note that over 700,000 ethnic Russians are dying every year from Alcohol alone....do you think the West didn't know the Russians wouldn't be able to handle the change from a depressed communist dictatorship to a free democracy without suffering from severe decay and overkill? Read history. By 2020 Ethnic Russians will be a minority in their own country), taking down 7 muslim nations like dominoes, putting Putin in a death-grip (his ships are turned back by English insurance companies, he can only muster enough troops to 'guard' a tiny portion of Syrian coast-line.. while the US and its allies prepare to take the REST OF SYRIA...its a joke!): he and China have NOWHERE to go but to the west to negotiate deals for energy needs. The entire world (aside from the West) is hanging on by a thread and it is the West who will decide if it gets cut or not...and when. Just remember: there is only ONE superpower and it ain't Russia or China: Russia is dying off and an economic set-back for China is a HUMANITARIAN DISASTER: they KNOW they can't afford such. As it is, if the US balks on its debt to China, China is done, period. And if you think that was not intended, you're a goon without a clue. Face it; the West is far more intelligent than the rest of the world when it comes to strategy: even Japan couldn't balance their books properly for crying out loud. The West has maintained control (even of its own people, via these silly, contrived recessions or so called: "economic set-backs") of the entire world for a very long time and its not going to stop ANY time soon. Not for centuries. And THERE, my friend, ISN'T A DAMN THING YOU CAN DO TO STOP IT. Count your blessings that you live in Seattle; the worst you'll ever have to do is collect unemployment.
38. Israel is a religous country too.
Spada Dio ,   Palirmo   (06.25.12)
Why you so upset ? , Rabbis are consulted in government discussions .. your country namely Israel "Yacoub the grand father of Israel Tribes" , Your IDF is "King David Army " so what .... and don't forget , the old pharaohs kicked you otua of Egypt , if you bring back those days , you'll got the same ; - )
39. Suppression of the Muslim Brotherhood
sk ,   USA   (06.25.12)
Mubarak had no choice but suppress the Muslim Brotherhood; they were responsible for his predecessor, Sadat's assassination. Had the MB not been suppressed, Mubarak would not have ruled for the length of time he did.
40. Sarabit-el-Khaddam...He we come!
Mark ,   Lodz, (in Israel)   (06.25.12)
41. #37 i wish you were right, but no you're wrong.
Iranian Hunter   (06.25.12)
I wish you were right that USA are in control of these, but no, they are not in control. The decline of the West is sure. You can see EU, USA going titanic. You can see they are losing Bahrain, Egypt. Iran wins. You can see they are losing Jordan, Saudi Arabia (qatif), Iran wins. But Russia and China also lost Libya, and are losing Syria. Saudi wins. These in my opinion, are complex shia-sunni internal war, and outside of it, are also battle for influence between The allies (NATO USA EU Saudi Turkey) with The Axis (Russia China Iran). While the rest of the world choosing sides between either the Axis, or the Allies.
42. REtake Gaza and Sinai
Mike caton ,   usa   (06.25.12)
"Peace treaty renewed"It is take for Israel to make pans for the retaking of Gaza and all or parts of the Sinai, since Israel will have an Iranian ally on its borders. This it cannot afford.
43. Islam hasn't changed in the last in the last 1200 years!
Ken   (06.25.12)
The ultimate goal is an Islamic Middle East. Study Islam and see for yourself.
44. @36 in the Sinai today...
Amalia ,   Israel   (06.25.12)
1. bedouin drug runners and human traffickers 2. all of Africa trying to get out of Africa and out of Egypt and into Israel At this time Israel is barely managing to keep the borders closed ... why on earth would we (Israel) be so stupid as to want 1 and 2 above in our country? Why would we want to turn the Sinai into part of Israel so that the nations of the world can then say: "Even though the Sinai isn't Israeli, since you are holding the Sinai, the migrant African problem is ALL yours!" Dude! what were you thinking when you wrote your trumped up comment?! Never mind clearly you weren't thinking!
45. #38 Israel is a relijous country too
Andrew Michaels ,   SAN DIEGO CA   (06.25.12)
The Jews left Egypt G-D's help the pharaohs did not kick them out and your analogy of Rabbis and Jews to Islam and the MB proove you don't know what your talking about
46. Good news for the Leftist Jews
Tom W ,   USA   (06.25.12)
Even though it's prohibited to say openly but everybody knows that Obamao was selected and financed by the American Marxist Jewry in the largest measure. Even today the Kenyan Messiah is their preferred candidate. (65%) Without the active support of the Jstreet, Soros Group, Hollywood billionaires etc. Obama would be a street organizing nobody. By denying the obvious you are subject of ridicule by those with eyes and cognitive abilities.
47. Response to #38
Jenny ,   Brooklyn USA   (06.25.12)
Why, just the other day I saw rabbis confering with line soldiers about if it is OK to shoot balestininas as they are not jewish, so certainly can be shot at like rabbits if they come too close to the fence. Your statement "the old pharoaohs kiked you otua of Egypt" is just not true. It was the God of "Yacoub the grand father of Israel Tribes", as you stated. Its all there in the bible....didn't you ever read it? Fascinating account. (Oh yea of small minds...)
48. #38
SS ,   Australia   (06.25.12)
" the old pharaohs kicked you otua of Egypt" !!!!! What Bible are you reading.?
49. #31
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.25.12)
The US has never saved us before and with Odumba in the White House you are going to have a very hard time saving yourselves. The most incompetent President in your entire history.
50. Peace treaty review, yeah right
Peter O. Schenk ,   Copenhagen Denmark   (06.25.12)
Morsi must say something that his bearded electorat likes, come on, he has just be elected. The reality is that the military are in charge and Morsi has got a gun pointed at his head. So at the end of the day he will say what he is told to say and he will do what he is told to do. Like a good boy.
51. Will Iran send Egypt billions every year?To feed the million
PETER SM ,   JERUSALEM ISRAEL   (06.25.12)
new mouths Egypt re-produces every year.?
52. Closer relations? Passing latest US weapons to Iran
PETER SM ,   JERUSALEM ISRAEL   (06.25.12)
for reverse engineering.? Comrade Chavez allegedly sent an F 16 to Iran
53. President Morsi
D. Dagan ,   Canada   (06.25.12)
Egypt needs major economical improvement for better life of its people. This together with radical education improvement so that millions should be able to read a news-paper and not be "pumped up" by radicals.
54. In case of doubt: go Google!
Tom W ,   USA   (06.25.12)
Listen to or read the text of Obamallah Cairo Speech and cringe. He lit the fuse and set in motion the Islamic drive. The spirit is out and the result is coming at you faster than you think.
55. The Muslims puppet president created this arab storm
zionist forever   (06.25.12)
Obama created this problem by selling out Americas puppet of 30 years now we have an Islamist government in power who wants the peace treaty with Israel to be reviewed and wants to expand ties with Iran. We have no idea what kind of government the Muslim Brotherhood will form but so far signs are not good and short term at least military aid should be suspended. As the military aid to Egypt for 2012 has already been budgeted for Obama should say this year there will be no aid to Egypt and instead Israel gets to spend Egypts share. It would certainly make him very popular amongst the Jews and Israel supporters which he needs in an election year. Whatever happens with Egypt America needs a responsible president and not an inexperienced idealist. The reason the so called peace process is on the verge of total collapse right now is because Obama was so desperate to show the Islamic world that this was a new pro Muslim America he was unwilling to tell Abbas to get his act together. He kept pressuring Bibi to make concessions but when Abbas refused to even talk unless Bibi made more concessions Obama just kept coming back to Bibi saying Abbas wants more concessions from you before he will talk. A responsible president would have said you want American money and backing in the peace process then you will stop acting like a spoilt child and you will talk with Bibi. Obama was so desperate to please the Muslims he went as describing the Armenian genocide as AN UNFORTUNATE INCIDENT despite the fact Senator Obama had said before the election he was determined to get it recognised as genocide. VOTE ROMNEY
56. #37 I have a rule...
Cathy ,   Israel   (06.25.12)
When I read a post and find that the first two questions or sentences have serious factual errors. I stop reading. First off my friend you need to go research the Islamic Brotherhood in the United States. The Islamic Brotherhood was brought to the USA from Egypt by the USA CIA in 1964. That would be when your President Mr. Obama was three (3) years old. The USA CIA decided to back the Islamic Brotherhood in order to counterbalance the internal political situation in Egypt AND in order to bolster the USAs position in the region given that at the time the USSR and the cold war were on and the USSR was in the Middle East big time. Anyway my friend The Islamic Brotherhood has been funded by the USA since 1964 to the present date. Since 1964 there have been 9 USA presidents. 5 Republicans and 4 Democrats. So that as it turns out...the Republicans have funded the Islamic Brotherhood to a higher tune and for a longer time period than the Democrats. So right there at the beginning you clearly show you don't know what you are talking about. So I didn't bother reading the rest of it!
57. You will miss Mubarak In few years
Yusuf ,   ME   (06.25.12)
As the MB will take Egypt 200m years back.
58. EGYPT
ECPLISE1 ,   Australia   (06.25.12)
Remember your passover and who brought you out of egypt and who destroyed the egypt army at that time your prophet isaiah 19 said THAT EGYPT will be ruled by an evil leader a fierce king shall rule We have just whitness this amazing propercy being fullfiled By the God of Israel 3000 years ago all the prophcies including syria in Isaiah 17 are being fullfiled yet the world said nothing about this WHY ? one thing is sure the GOD of Israel will win this fight The scary part is we are heading for the biblical tribulation written in Matthew and in Luke the hebrew boy spoke about in the book of daniel in babylon not jerusalem these are the days when all that is written will be fullfiled Egypt's New President's Recent Statements: Our Capital 'Shall be Jerusalem, Allah Willing' Our cry shall be: 'Millions of martyrs march toward Jerusalem'
59. They will take back the agreement...
RichInBoston ,   Boston USA   (06.25.12)
we will take back the Sinai.
60. Let the dust settle...
Adam Neira ,   Paris, France   (06.25.12)
Egypt's new President Morsy must be allowed time to find his feet. Of course every policy statement he makes re. foreign policy and especially relations with Iran will be analysed through a microscope. Egypt is entitled to seek peaceful relations with all nations. This includes Israel of course as well. The Middle East jigsaw puzzle is a multifaceted and interesting one. This period of time is a test for all Egyptians. I believe the younger generation is not as easy to manipulate as those of the Nasser era. The Egyptian Actor of "The Kite Runner" fame, 31 y.o. Khalid Abdalla spoke eloquently from Tahrir Square in late January 2011 on the BBC World Service. A common chant of the children in Tahrir Square then was "Hold your head up high. We are Egyptians". This current democratic election process is the first time in 5,000 years the Land of the Pharaohs has witnessed a free election of a government. So yes these are momentous times. Israelis must be careful. A conditioned knee-jerk response with bluster mixed with an almost obligatory need to control all relationships around them will prove counterproductive. In a good relationship you work with the other person. You give and receive trust whilst hopefully working towards a common goal. The goal of all people in the Middle East should be peace, security and prosperity for all. The win/win paradigm must take root. I would like to swim in the Red Sea off the Sinai in peace one day like I did in August 1997.
