All over the world, mosques sit on the sites of demolished Jewish temples. Today, in Muslim countries, and in non-Muslim countries, synagogues are frequently attacked by Muslims. And so, what about Israel? Israel is giving de facto approval to this thousand-year old attack on the Jewish religion, by virtue of its passiveness and silence regarding the Temple Mount. The rationale is that Israel is showing respect for all religions, including Islam. But, the the fact is that all religions do not show respect for Judaism. The Quran, in fact, calls for death to the Jews. Israel should announce that if another synagogue is attacked by Muslim activists, the Temple Mount will be closed to Muslims, as it is to Jews. And, if Israel is attacked again, whether it be by Iran, or Syria, or Egypt, or any other Muslim country, its first reaction should be to demolish the mosque on the Temple Mount.

There have only ever been two Jewish Temples, and they were both on the Temple Mount. I assume you mean synagogues. Muslims have also built mosques on the sites of Christian Cathedrals like Haga Sophia, but then Christians 'converted' pagan temples like the Pantheon into churches. The Mosque and the Dome will be replaced in Messianic times, when 'My House [Jerusalem] will be called a House of Prayer for ALL peoples.'. It's not for us to destroy.

When Herod wanted to expand the second temple in order to create a larger platform he flattened the top of Mt Moriah. This proberbly destroyed any of the remnants of the true temple,that of King Solomon. The second Herodian temple was a status symbol with over 300 High priests and well fed retinue.
