1. Thankfully, they appear to have thrown away the key
Crooksmeister ,   Sydney, Australia   (07.05.12)
Pollard is a US citizen, born and bred (we can ignore the fact that Israel made him an honorary citizen). The fact that he's Jewish is a distraction - he sold out his country for a few lousy dollars, including a monthly salary, and a few trinkets. It's beyond me why anyone would expect the country now to forgive him and despatch him to a life of comfort in Israel (or anywhere else that's silly enough to take him).
2. I think, Crooksmester...
Eli ,   Nahariya, Israel   (07.05.12)
If "he sold out his country for a few lousy dollars" was the criteria to put a man in jail for the rest of his life, there would be a few of the banksters (who knowingly made risky bets to enhance their annual bonuses and crashed their nation's economies) in there with him. Enough punishing Pollard. Spy protocol, as the article demonstrates is its time to let him out. Unless, of course, its because he's a lousy Jew Israeli -- and the US is showing us who really runs the show.
3. YES ,ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
DA URBAN POET ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (07.05.12)
And to idiots like #1 ,we know Mr .Pollard broke the law but all of us mess up or make mistakes in life ,even if we never break the law and we all wish to be treated mercifully. Pollard has done his time .Time to let him go .
4. #1 Talkback name must be self-description
Steve ,   US   (07.05.12)
5. His punishment has been too harsh!
Reuven   (07.05.12)
His freedom is overdue!
6. Former CIA Director is Enough... Free him!
Roy   (07.05.12)
7. he is simply pawn in a political game with israel
Galut ia ,   Selah   (07.05.12)
he is hostage to Obama s desire to control Israel.... if Israel attacks Iran before Obama's ready ...he will rot in prison ...if Israel complies then there's a chance he will be released after obama launches his attack on Iran prior to Novembers election... don't like it but it is very possible that Obama will play the war card to get himself re-elected
8. Nor Bill Clinton nor G.W. Bush released
Israeli 2   (07.05.12)
Pollard. Very recently, Peres got a slap on his face from Obama...but then...Obama gave Peres a "good boy" medal and all is quiet. Is Romney committed to release Pollard? They all vow to move the American Embassy to Jerusalem too. Nothing.
9. About time, although far too late.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (07.05.12)
10. He could have been out YEARS ago!
Chanawashdc ,   Washington DC   (07.05.12)
But applying for a parole would have meant admitting his guilt - which like a spoiled child he would never do.
11. Obama is Peres' Counterpart?
Seth Greenberg ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (07.05.12)
Point of fact: Despite their matching titles, Shimon Peres is not Obama's counterpart. Netanyahu is. Regardless of Pollard's past, he no longer poses a threat to US security (if he even did in the first place is also questionable). I would speculate that his continued incarceration is the result of a few powerful individuals who would be hurt or embarrassed by revelations about their actions in relation to Pollard. The US is no place for a Jew. Sigh.
12. beyond 25 years becomes human rights crime!
john c ,   us of a   (07.05.12)
he as done the time, anything more is not american.
13. Obama never responded....
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (07.05.12)
to any of many requests. Conceited, hateful, antisemitic and incompetent. Driving America into bankruptcy but liberal jeww are going to vote for him anyway.
14. Free Pollard, and bring Rachel Corrie back to life
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.05.12)
