8. That's what happens when democracy is nothing but a fraud
Aryeh   (07.11.12)
As long as the secular have the monopole over the buses and haredim will not be allowed their own buses the struggle will continue.
9. I am with you, You are with me, and We are all Together
Rosa Parks ,   Montgomery , Alabama   (07.11.12)
Good job girl. You done yourself proud and you done us pround.
10. Timewarp
Ehud   (07.11.12)
You are living in a country with sharia-compliant Muslim-only swimming pools and public schools where the cafeteria is turned into a mosque on Fridays with entry for Muslims only - boys in front, girls in the back, and menstruating girls outside (so everyone can know when they have their period). Check articles about Valley Park Middle School. Then think again about your assumption that you are past these kind of problems
11. #8 Aryeh, Move to Iran or Pakistan
Sidney ,   USA   (07.11.12)
They share your opinion of women.
12. * 8
Philip ,   Afula Israel   (07.11.12)
So set up your own bus company. Believe me no secular will want to share it with you.
13. Super GREAT news .
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.11.12)
And i think that ALL the sane people , even Charidi , will agree
14. This has gotten out of hand.
Ruth ,   Bet Shemesh   (07.11.12)
What halacha do these people think they're following? They give the Torah a bad name. I'm religious myself and I'm trying to figure out whether they're crazy or just plain ignorant fanatics. I was once told to get in the back while sitting with my husband and child!. Another time I was 8 months pregnant.
15. #12 it will not help him
Avi   (07.11.12)
Oppression of women is not part of his democratic rights and is illegal. Like in any democratic state, he's free to practice his beliefs so long as they hurt no one else. He does not have a monopoly over others' rights.
16. one word:
european   (07.11.12)
IRAN.
17. giving your seat to an oler person
jennifer ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.11.12)
I don't know what the situation wa on the bus, however, all people should be trained to give their seat on the bus to an older person, or one who is handicapped, or pregnant. I don't know how old those men were, there was no mention of it i the article. Perhaps they were older gentlemen? Perhaps they were carrying heavy packages? Perhaps they had young children in tow? All these are very likely possiblilities why the bus driver asked the girl to give up her seat. If it was any of these cases, shame on the girl and shame on the court system!
18. cab or the back of the bus
Laurie ,   Los Angeles USA   (07.11.12)
I can understand that the men don't want to be standing next to the women. So let the men go to the back of the bus or take a cab. Why should the women go to the back of the bus and walk in front of all the men sitting in the front? If the men don't like to be with the women, let the men move!
19. Jennifer 17 . There were vacant seats
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.11.12)
in the back [ read article ! ] when those men boarded the bus .
22. Ruth 14 , and haredi Jew , both Beth Shemesh
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.11.12)
At least two sane reactions of religious persons . Sad that not much more share your ideas . Sad that no Great Rabbi says the same thing as you do , publicly !
23. Teen suit of Superbus
Dawn   (07.11.12)
Comment for Jennifer. Shame on you! I am the mother of this teen and I can tell you my daughter is taught to give up her seat to those less able than herself. These 2 men were young and were not carrying any heavy packages. There were indeed spare seats just across the aisle which they refused to sit in. My daughter and her friends were made to move purely due to the fact that they were girls. So I say Justice has prevailed.
24. Segregation on busses
Irene ,   Beit Shemesh, Israel   (07.11.12)
If they want to sit seperate, let them get their own mehadrin busses like they did a few years ago.
25. # 17 Oh Jennifer, Jennifer
Bad Ased Jew   (07.11.12)
Men offer their seats to ladies regularly. It is the 'Rabbi's' who seem to hate and abuse women. Time for those "Rabbi's" to walk or, hide a relative, an ass.
