1. Who Paid For This?
emanon ,   USA   (07.12.12)
The labels are an unexpected cost to the shop owner and the time spent putting these labels on the packages is taking time away from what the shop owner is paying his employees. Let the community complaining pay for these expenses, not the shop owner. The shop owner should charge higher prices to the offended parties to cover these expenses.

they say they will examine the claim and act accordingly. Accordingly to what?
4. Sounds like something that would happen in Afghanistan....
Sailor ,   USA   (07.12.12)
This is the culture of the Taliban. As the birthdate of the Haredim outstrip all other citiens of Israel, this problem will only get worse. The societal model is flawed and is not sustainable. Fix it fast, before it is too late.
5. the haredim turn Israel more and more into Iran
Ze'ev ,   Nbg, germany   (07.12.12)
When will the silent, but hard working, serving and paying class wake up and stand up against the haredim? Maybe its already to late...than Israel will go down.

8. Too busy to work...
Gabriel ,   Tel Aviv   (07.13.12)
But not to busy to go around and cover up pictures of women? Just get a job and join the 21st century.
9. Covering Women's Image
Secular from WI ,   Kenosha usa   (07.13.12)
Tip to Haredim. Just don't look. It is that simple. Please stop trying to force your minority views on the majority.
10. why men's body is not covered too?
Au. ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.13.12)
Okay, if they are that "canua" - why the pic of a man's naked torso is not covered too? I thought in judaism women are not treated differently than men?
11. Israel's march to idiocy continues
Dan   (07.13.12)
12. Uncontrolable perverts, apparently
mea   (07.13.12)
In the petrie dish that is ultra-orthodoxy, the grow out seems to be a parasitic growth unable to control itself when exposed to anything with hormones. The experiment is a failure. Dump the waste matter into the larger tank and dilute it with the control group.
13. G-d's creation
Norman Gellman ,   Rehovot   (07.13.12)
Women were created by G-d as helpmates for man and were endowed by him with the ability to attract men so that people can be fruitful and multiply. The Haridim by avoiding seeing women are in effect saying G-d was wrong. The Haridi male population must learn how to handle female attractiveness without obliterating pictures of women or forcing women to cover up. We must stop pandering to their peculiar ideas. They can always avert their gaze or cover their eyes. In addition women have every right to know about products made specifically for them and in many cases the picture on the container gives a clue to the products usage.

15. How Insane
yaakov ,   TA   (07.13.12)
Aren't women visible in the streets of Israel? And sometimes they wearing a lot less that in photos on orthopedic products. What's next? Burkas for all females? But wait ,isn't that a key precept of the Taliban?---Hmm...

Trev ,   Canada   (07.13.12)
18. The meaning of "respect"
(07.13.12)
The store owner explained: "Eisler Orthopedic-pharm respects different sectors of the population; secular national religious and haredi." JUST NOT WOMEN "As our branch also supplies its services to the haredi public and as the issue is fundamental to them" AT THE EXPENSE OF HALF OF THE POPULATION "and does not hurt the professionalism of the services we provide," IT ONLY HURTS WOMEN "we agreed to the request of some of our customers to cover the pictures". HURTING WOMEN - OK HURTING HAREDIM (BY GRANTING WOMEN THE RIGHT TO EXIST IN THE PUBLIC SPHERE) - NOT OK
19. near nude and near miss
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (07.13.12)
if seeing a near nude lady don't bother you, then why should seeing a covered up lady be so bad. For those who enjoy seeing women wearing nothing can't those who enjoy cover ups have their day too?
20. My Favorite Part
lauren ,   jerusalem   (07.13.12)
"As our branch also supplies its services to the haredi public and as the issue is fundamental to them" What issue? That women other than their wife is present in public? What about the "fundamental issue" of degrading woman to mere objects of sexual seduction. The store owner and Bibi are the same, both lacking balls to stand up to a sexist and selfish minority. Get real. Better yet, go to Iran
21. No. 19 Larry
NYC Girl   (07.13.12)
Just out of curiosity...since you don't seem to find anything wrong with having stickers placed over photos of women in order to pacify a bunch of irredentist religious fanatics, how have you managed to survive in a place like Los Angeles...where there are probably as many half-naked women walking around the streets as there are in a city like Tel-Aviv?
22. Oh My My
(07.13.12)
Israel, the light among other nations. Quick-let's copy them! NOT! I like my freedom in a real democracy where women are treated equally to men, and it is my right to admire the female form
23. Insensitive and arrogant
Moshe   (07.13.12)
How innocent of you guys pretending as if you don't know that the hareidi socoiety has their quircks, right or wrong is up for disscution but to go and bash them with such hatred is utter immaturity !! I'm not sure How this would affect the use or the quality of the product, let's take it to another level if a teenager dyes his mow hawk purple or if s/he comes out of the closet I dont believe anyone would utter a word, the reason is- that they are mature adults and they could decide which direction they want to take in life as long ad no one is hurt in the process however for some reason by the hareidim for some reason their actions are judged differently.........
24. And they don't try to impose their lifestyle on us ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.13.12)
We have to stop it , before it's to late . And with those actions they want us NOT to generalize ? They want us to believe that not all the charidim are so ?
25. Why beeing offended ??
Udo Mannes ,   Netanya, Israel   (07.13.12)
Respect is NOT a one way issuem as also yolerance is not. So why beeing offended if a store which serves also charedi people covers Women's picture tto care for some charedi customers who are sensitive to such things. They are not different to people beeing sensitive to the covering of women pictures, The question is only: For whom is it easier to put aside ones sensibility! "Weahavte Lareiacha Kamocha"
26. Image of Reality
Ehai ,   Kfar Saba, Israel   (07.13.12)
The Haredi image of reality is warped. I suggest this is a moment for the Bank of Israel to consider new designs for Israeli banknotes featuring images of the famale and male body. Something to celebrate anway because Israelis sure look fit after 65 years of national independence. Let's see some Israeli folks in national folk costume on the stamps too. Let's have the Air Force sky-drawing outlines of the human body. It is a disgusting philosoph which teaches a man's body is purer than a women's. People who believe this crap have been indoctrinated and brain-washed. The time has arrived for the Government to instruct the Ministry of Culture and Education to look into the standards of education and teaching methods in Haredi communities. Those folks need some counselling. We are all born naked into the hands of relative strangers. Get a life!
27. Hit them in the pocketbook
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.13.12)
DON'T buy anything from this particular store and let them know why you choose to make your purchases elsewhere.
28. NO EXCUSES!!!!!
tiki ,   belgium   (07.13.12)
This discusting practice must be stopped NOW! Governement must start giving big fines or close business of shopowners, bus compagnies & others who allow this practice, if not, the Iran/Saudia/Afghanistan model is the future. With religious fanatics no dialoge is possible! It starts with stickers, but ends with sticks!
29. Working class?
Yitzhak ,   USA   (07.13.12)
You mean like the national socialist working class did in Germany? Looks like you are learning well the german way
30. re: Womens pictures
A ,   Belgium   (07.13.12)
I never realised that CHARAdi men are such sex obsessed, uncontrollable perverts. When do they have time to study 18 hours a day, as was recently noted, when it seems they are more interested in defacing ads in bus stops and forcing a store owner in a HOSPITAL to cover up his products? Don't the wives get jealous that their husbands become so terribly excited seeing a woman in a bra that the picture has to be covered up? Or are they in it only to be silent breeding machines? Why aren't Jewish women, secular and religious, protesting against this masculine religious insanity? Or are they (religious women) afraid of getting the s*t beaten out of them when they get home...
