1. There are more righteous Polish Gentiles than anyother group
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (07.16.12)
2. Statistics can be interpreted ...
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.16.12)
Yes the Poles have the Most Righteous , but they had also much more Jews in the country , twenty times more than in the Netherlands . On the other side , it was very dangerous for them to hide Jews . Even antisemites participated in the rescue , leader of Zegota as an example who said that Poland would be better of without Jews , but set up this organisation that saved 2500 Jewish children .
3. Nazism means antisemitic propaganda
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (07.16.12)
First in Germany from 1923 Streicher with the Stürmer was succesfull to foolish germans with his lies. After the start of the war in Poland on every corner was an anti jewish poster and newspapers, radios flooded defamations against jews. The holocaust was its result. Nowadays thousands of anti jewish websites exist, all of them must be silenced and uprooted by any price if we do not want a second tragedy.
4. Peter , Yes , but they had the MOST Jews
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.16.12)
So more possibilities ! The Netherlands , in proportion has MORE Righteous than Poland . There were less inhabitants in this country , and 20 times less Jews . It was less dangerous too . Regarding the high % of Dutch Jews who were murdered you have to know that long before WWII , and till the 1990's people had to register their religion at the city hall .
5. Wasn't it pope John Paul who
A ,   Belgium   (07.16.12)
carried his Jewish neighbors out of their village on his back to safety? He should be given the greatest honor if he hasn't already, especially since he represented the Catholic church, which was always hostile to Jews. Don't think Ratzi can make such a claim.
6. #3 Istvan - I agree with you.
Zvi   (07.16.12)
Evil anti-Semitic propaganda made the Holocaust possible. Today, we see increasing anti-Semitic propaganda even in "the West." We must fight against it!
7. Always a hater
Carol Dove ,   Connecticut, USA   (07.16.12)
‎"Many Jews today still remember anti-Semitism that their families suffered in Poland, not just from Germans – who carried out the Holocaust – but also from Poles whom they had lived alongside for centuries." As in "occupied Poland" ??? It seems a beautiful gesture such as this and still you have a hater put there 2 cents in. grrr
