1. Prepare yourselves, dear Israelis!
INDIAN ,   USA   (07.18.12)
This is the beginning of the end of the Assad regime. Prepare yourselves for the worst, as I think they will be replaced by an extreme Sunni regime that will likely start hostilities with Israel once the dust settles in Damascus.
2. hopefully
(07.18.12)
not another step towards the transfer of Syrias WMD's into the hands of god only knows
3. 90%?? This is coming from someone who's hiding in Turkey.lol
Ali ,   Lisbon   (07.18.12)
This 'general' is bravely hiding in Turkey with Turkish military and intelligence protection and now claiming his men control 90% of Damascus? Wow!! What next??? Not long ago he claimed he controlled 60% of the country..Tomorrow he'll claim he controls all of Middle East..This is coming from a typical Arab general who's more than ready to defect than fight..Useless.!!!
4. Der Untergang ?
Adam Neira ,   Paris, France   (07.18.12)
The great German movie "Der Untergang" comes to mind, with these attacks so close to a Command HQ. I still don't believe outside military intervention or a no fly zone are good options at the moment. Prayers for Syria.
5. ROT in hell...you creep !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (07.18.12)
6. How long will it take before Mosad is accused?
rebecca ,   Modiin   (07.18.12)
7. Ali, # 3 This general has math problems
Bad Ased Jew ,   United States   (07.18.12)
his seems to be percentages, most have troubles with fractions. He, like most big brave defectors at least, is alive to tell his story, bad math, ( exaggerated ) and all. Question is, who follows this act and will they be less violent with their own people?
8. Its a matter of time till he's killed along with his wife.
Efraim ,   in Virginia   (07.18.12)
Israel and the west should pay close attention to the developments.
9. Let Them Duke it Out and Cavort With Virgins
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (07.18.12)
Its like a baby crying...many parents say, "Just let him (her) cry it out". And a baby who must have the light on or it wll foam. "put the light out and he (she) will adjust". Same with Syria. Let the sides fight it out, dont make the same mistake made in Iraq. We should have let it play itself out, after Saddam was deposed..Sunni vs Shia vs Kurds..The US erred in remaiing. In 1400 yrs, nothing has changed in their world, cept the discovery and use of oil. w/o which they would be still making rugs for a livng. A faith that depends on Jihad for its survival, is wanting What have 1.4B Muslims achieved? LIttle Israel, with 5.5m Jews pales in comparison their achievements for mankind., besides fighting 3 major wars. The Mandate Pales were offered a state, contiguous to the real Mandatge Palestine, Jordan..and attacked instead. Had they won, well ask Michael Oren. Talks, forget it? Syrias Sunnis have no love for we Jews, and Syrian Sunnis attacked our spiritual homeland n 48, 67 and 73. They cut its water..and shelled its towns and villages. They faked reports of Israeli soldiers on the border in 67. They mutilated soldiers in 73. They demanded ALL THE Golan Heights back before "talking" under "Sr. Assad. Their govt kills fellow Arabs, looking ahead at we Jews. Let them fight it out..then beef up our forces where necessary on the border. If they want a war, give it to them in spades, using all our weaponry. No Goldstone complex..hit them and hit them hard. Recall, they armed Hez, in violation of the cease fires and have trained Scud Ds with BC warheads on Israeli cities and civilians. That must be our approach towards these monsters..Sunniv or Sha. Recall that Edward Said was an Syrian Arab..and taught at Columbia U., the most vicious of all of them. Read his books, I have..in disgust. Remember Kuneitra..given back to Syria, now an armed camp..its faces Damascus within artillery range.
10. #1: *START* Hostilities With Israel?
emanon ,   USA   (07.18.12)
You mean they have not already been underway for number of years?
11. #2 ... the UN deliberated while
J Galt ,   Hidden Valley, USA   (07.18.12)
the WMDs moved from Iraq to Syria. Now the UN is deliberating on another resolution. Probably this delay is to allow Bashar to build a stage so he and the Free Syrian Army and the Army of Islam can stand together and sing "We are the world" after the UN solves the civil war!
12. Who would have thunk it?
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.18.12)
An Arab suicide bomber. GeeWiz what will they think up next? Syria is going to fall and the FSA will start fighting among themselves and Syria will splinter into about 4 or 5 enclaves.
13. Two Wars: Syria and the Charedi
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesCA   (07.18.12)
Dont be fooled everyone, Syrias Sunnnis are in fact worse than the Shias..and Assad, vis a vie Israel. They say so that Assad has coddled Israel. Israel shot down 200 Syrian planes...they forget. Israel mauled them on the Golan, they forgot. Israel i forces stopped massive tank charges from Syria. They forgot. Israel allowed Kuneitra to go back to Assad's father...a mistake..it is close to Damascus..5,000 artillery pieces, with air support, could level Damasus. 1 or 2 nukes same. This is one to watch fellow Zionists. Syria emasucalted our IDFers in 73. and boasted of it. Their history: they launched 3 wars against Israel cutting off water and shelling towns in the north of Israel for decades. They demanded Israel withdraw from the sea..no foothold and no guarantees of anything under a peace treaty. Syria has allowed Iranian/Russian bases and arms..to fight the USA, West and Israel in particular. We should show them no mercy if a war...no Goldstone complex this time. They have destroyed peaceful Christian Lebanon with their surrogate militias and arms and manipulation of tthe govt. W/O Syria, Iran has no base bordering Israel. That shold be our goal as Jews and Zionsts. Remember, we once had a leader named David. No more Masadas, next time we win. BTW if the Charedi believe Israel is their enemy, and want to move...let them. There are many Diapora ZJews who will gladly move in their apartments and homes. Israel does not need a Jewish 5th column. They are a blight on the country, worse than the Sunnis.
14. Syrian Sons-of-BeeStings got what they deserved!
(07.18.12)
...and exactly on the 18th anniversary of the AMIA bombing in Buenos Aires. Take note former President Menem, take note.
15. it will get too hot. di di moa.
Matt   (07.18.12)
It is not a game changer, it is just the writing on the wall. Same as Damascus, the FSA have been there before and they will be back. Many months ago the battle would be taken to the nest of the spider. And it was and it is again and will be again.
16. they will never take Damascus
zionist forever   (07.18.12)
The elite of the armoured corps and the airforce are all Alawites and they want Assad. Even with the hardware the rebel forces have been given by the US they have limited weapons and no NATO forces backing them. They don't stand a chance in Damascus with anything but terrorist style raids and thats not going to win them any great victories but it will make Assad get alot more brutal. Its unlikely but push Assad to far and maybe he will use chemical weapons against them.
17. #16 Zionist
DavidR ,   USA   (07.18.12)
You said, "They will never take Damascus." Perhaps not now, perhaps never, however there is an unfulfilled prophecy regarding Damascus at Isaiah 17:1. So, if not now, when?
18. #16 and so...let them off themselves wholesale
Al   (07.18.12)
The more they do themselves in the less we will have to deal with in the future. Thats what every non PC person thinks and feels. Allah is great Kaboom....
19. 18
zionist forever   (07.18.12)
I am all with you Whilst I don't like seeing Assad massacring people like that the more they destroy the country the more problems they have to contend with later. If Assad & the rebels bankrupt the country through fighting and destruction thats also great because it mean less money for rebuilding the army no matter who is in charge when this is all over. Once Assad is gone a nice little Syrian civil war would probably be nice for Israel because it means no Islamist government to replace Assad and if they are fighting each other nobody will have time to think about israel. Will also ensure no peace process obsessed Israeli government can give up the Golan because nobody is going to even think of giving that up during a full blown Syrian civil war.
20. Bible Prophecy
Joe Green ,   Chattanooga, TN   (07.18.12)
As a result of the Arab Spring spreading across the Middle East, the people of Syria have become a major threat to the Syrian government led by Bashar Assad who actually followed his father's 40 year tenure as president of Syria. The opposition has suffered over 19,000 deaths in their struggle to bring down President Assad but have and are continuing to gain ground. What is now termed a "civil war" has world leaders calling for Assad to step aside which he has refused to do. These same world leaders are mostly standing by and watching this horrific conflict seemingly unable to decide what action to take. Meanwhile, the Assad regime continues to fight on which is actually setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled. The ancient Jewish prophet, Daniel prewrote history 2500 years ago when he laid out the scenario for the end of times. In Daniel 11:40 it states that the King of the North will be the leader to take a coalition of nations into Israel to destroy the Jewish state. The King of the North, defined in Daniel 11 verses 5 and following, is the nation of Syria today. Actually, Syria will make the first move against Israel followed by an alignment of nations which are mentioned in Daniel 11:40-43, Ezekiel 38, and Psalm 83. The end result of this attack on the Jewish state will be death for the attacking nations, Ezekiel 39:1-6.
21. this is the good answer to our plane shot down
caglar ,   antalya TURKEY   (07.19.12)

22. #1-Indian
sabza ,   usa   (07.19.12)
Why don't you tell us which restaurant serves good Indian food? not that you are going to be considered for your cuisine choice, it just might sound better than your analysis of the Syrian-Israeli situation after the downfall of the Surian butcher.
