While I agree that as the president of Israel, Peres should be extending greetings to the country's Muslim citizens. However, he went further and included Muslims everywhere in the world. And in regard to your accusation of "downright racism," racism has nothing to do with it. As Jews, we must show compassion for all people. It is false to criticize all Muslims in the same way. I have several Muslim friends who are friends with Jews here. As a kid I remember how on Yom Kippur in the synagogues their would be pledge cards at each seat asking to donate to Israeli causes with flowery relgious messages from non other than Peres filled with Baruch Hashem mention of G-d etc . Israel supplies Gaza with fresh drinking water, food items, petrol, clothes,electricity,flour, cooking oil, wood,cement etc, etc every single day of the week except Saturday thousands of tons of the above are trucked into Gaza from Israel.
