Someone is behind the times here: Iran's official position and statement concerning their participation against Israeli athletes was clarified to reveal quite the opposite of the entire reason for writing this article. Iran's official position is that they will NOT compete against Israelis; that such a thought or statement is 'satanic' and that they would 'never respect' a moment of silence for slaughtered Israeli athletes. So, why was this article even written? The Iranian olympic chairman was 'corrected'. What a waste of time to have written this.

Iran will always seek every opportunity to seek to portray itself as a normal injured party, i.e the victim, when they are facing the profile of the west and when they seek to ease sanctions and gain international support for their nuclear development . The opposite is normally said to their Islamic audiences .

Perception is observation. Sadly, we have plenty of that. We know that Iran supports Hezbollah and, when possible, Hamas. We know that large shipments of Iranian arms to Israel’s enemies have been stopped. We know many get through. We know they want to destroy Israel and kill all the Jews. They have said it themselves, many times over. [Only idiots will not listen when someone says they want to kill you. (hint, hint] We know they are trying to build an nuclear bomb. What else would they be doing trying to acquire both the knowledge and the parts for such an endeavor? Oh, but they have. Hundreds, if not thousands, of Jews have been executed in Iran since 1979. But any major attack against the remnant of the once-large Jewish community in Iran would be met with a very swift -- and unpleasant -- response from Israel. Their silly rhetoric to the contrary notwithstanding, Iran is terrified of Israel. Justifiably so. Iran has seen just what Israel can do (to its computer networks) without firing a shot. Imagine what Israel can -- and will -- do should the Jews of Iran be even more persecuted by the Islamofascist regime than is already the case. It would not bode well for Iran. Israel has traveled great distances to protect Am Israel. Iran's not all that far away.

Why would they kill them when they're very useful as potential hostages? And, by the way, your question is asinine to begin with...because it presupposes the Iranian regime is no threat.

It is a very childish nonsense that Iran's sportfolks will not compete with the Isrealy counterparts. This is not I might say has anything to do with the sports men and women but the stupid mullas and their even more stupid policy towards Isreal. Even one mulla said in the past "if the arabs are ok to make peace with isreal, who are we! to object" So I regrate to say that the most people (of course there are some who support the regime)and the regime in Iran are two different poles!

If we weren't afraid, we would have done it long ago (instead of just talking about it.) Are our leaders afraid of another fiasco like what happened to the IDF in Lebanon? It might be better that we don't attack, as we'd probably just mess it up.

We have a very "objective knowledge" of the hatred of the Iranian Mullahs against the Jews, because we, here in Argentina, have SEEN, SMELL and SOAKED our hands in the BLOOD of our siblings, the Christian, Jewish and Muslim humant beings that were MURDERED and MAIMED by the two bloody and merciless bombings of the Israeli Embassy in 1992 and the Jewish NGO AMIA in 1994, performed by the Islamo-Fascist Terrorist Organization Hezbollah, that were planned, sponsored and supported directly by Iran . As a matter of fact, one of the main suspects in the bombing of the AMIA, is Ahmad Vahidi, the current Defense Minister of the Government of Iran. From all the facts described above, WE DO KNOW that the main objective of the Iranian Mad Mullahs is to kill as many Jewish people as possible. Moreover, WE ARE SURE that if they achieve their goal to obtain a Nuclear Weapon, they WILL use it against the Jewish People in Israel, to commit another Holocaust.
