Brett ,   Florida   (07.27.12)
Bullshot!!! You should rather believe I can sell you a bridge in Brooklyn.
32. #30. Bertram: Please elucidate us
Tom W ,   USA   (07.28.12)
When did foreign dignitaries and other statesmen ever met Israeli gov.ment reps in Tel Aviv? Even the EU antisemitic beauty queen, Ashton goes to Jerusalem if she wants to talk to Israel. No gov.ment official will go to TA to kiss foreign butts. That's that. 2. As for behavior: your beloved messiah, Obamao was the center of ridicule for his clumsy, low class manners at the Queen's... “Obama Gives Queen Ipod Containing His Speeches (that he read from the teleprompter.) These people are the paragons of the leftist Britons.
33. #2 Rickey, NY,NY
Moshe of Rockville ,   Rockville,MD USA   (07.28.12)
"He wouldn't give Israel a dried fig..."May I remind Rickey and others of the following:OBAMA has given Israel the largest amount of military aid in US history. That includes the $3 billion per year, $250 million in supplemental funding to assist in the development of the defensive Iron Dome missile system, and the further $70 million towards its defensive operation. The US under OBAMA has authorized the sale of bunker busting bombs, the F-35 fighter - the best fighter aircraft in the world - and fast tracking all arms sales.I have more to say,but that is enough for the present. Oh,...you may apologize at any time.
34. The Obama's Tip
Gavriel Rechav ,   Valencia - Spain   (07.28.12)
A 70M$ help would be a great gift for Magen David Adom, or Peace Now!, but it is only small change for so costly project as Iron Dome, which needs 15 times more to build up an effective missile shield. That Mr. Obama grants so little money for this project in order to buy now the American Jewish vote, is only a revealing token of what will be his Israel politics if he wins a new mandate next November. With Mr. Obama as President we will be worse than alone, because he will always force us to keep restraint whist our enemies grows more and more powerful. With Mr. Obama and the US Democratic Party, each passing day will mean for Israel to lower one step down the long stair that will left us unprotected and powerless, as the development of Iranian and Egyptian issues are showing beyond any doubt.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.27.12)
1. Munich 1972 was the summer games. Salt Lake 2002 was the winter games. A 2002 commemmoration would have not had much meaning, and Israel did not seek such a commemmoration. 2. You are correct. Keep in mind, however, that ONLY the country in question has the right to decide its capital. Israel can order foreign embassies to either move to Jerusalem, or leave the country altogether. I can almost guarantee that a flood of countries will immediately decamp to Jerusalem, because Israel is a natural listening post and dependable source of intelligence in a region of the world where not very many countries have reliable intelligence sources. That said, as a practical matter, nearly every Western country has a consulate in Jerusalem, where nearly all the embassy-level work is conducted. Jerusalem, after all, is where Israel has its seat of government. It makes sense for embassies to be there -- particularly now that the ersatz "Palestinians" are no longer the focus of anyone's attention. So while it is not a formal exchange, in practical terms, ambassadorial-level communications stem from Jerusalem. The papal nuncio's offices are in Tel Aviv, but who cares about him, anyway? Anytime Israel sees a need to summon him, he has to make the trip. The Vatican is really rather irrelevant, anyway.
36. The post at No. 23 .....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.27.12)
.... was not written by an Israeli.
37. To: No. 29
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.28.12)
But you're okay with pouring $3 billion annually into the black hole that is Pakistan? Have you forgotten that Pakistan sheltered Osama bin Laden for a decade?
38. No matter how much you do for Israelis
(07.27.12)
they will never say thankyou. Just look at the talk-backs. A bunch of arrogant ingrates. Keep our money in AMERICA for AMERICANS.
39. Back at it, are you Harold?
Rob ,   Orangevale, U.S.A.   (07.28.12)
When you say, "we Americans", are you talking about the mouse in your pocket, or the doll in your closet?, because you sure as hell aren't talking about me, or my friends/acquaintances. You are obviously too stupid to realize that America's security is inextricably linked to Israel's. You are too uneducated,(I use this term to not intimidate you) to see the vital link of our nations. This puts you squarely in the Obama camp, ie. "too stupid to see the forest, thru the trees.' I am as much, or more a patriot than you. ( I served in the U.S.M.C. and did what needed to be done to our enemies, in their home country, so you never had to even think about it ) and can tell you, that you really know nothing as it comes to allied support and the values associated with it. Just shut up and watch CNN, BBC,or some other worthless outlet to get your stupidity. In the mean time, real matters will be attended to. As if you really care for the 'poor and needy'. Your anti-Semitic garbage is oozing forth Harry. As an American combat vet, I have a thousand slurs for you my friend. Shalom Israel, Rob
40. Obama is cheap $70 million dollards
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (07.28.12)
Six Million American Jews, he's willing and anxious to spend less that $12 each to buy their votes
41. #20 Steve Ibn Ass
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (07.28.12)
Python-4-Air-to-Air Missile The Python-4 is recognized as the world' most advanced short-range air-to-air missile. Unlike other missiles of its kind, the Python can fire at targets from any angle, not just those directly in front of it. This gives it a much larger zone in which in can effectively destroy enemy aircraft. Army/Ground
42. #14 IDT
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (07.28.12)
$70 million for six million Jews is less than $12 per Jew, it doesn't pay to start the car to go vote
43. #24
sealift67 ,   northern calif   (07.27.12)
and you would have had US a)support Mubarak rather attempting to moderate the islamists and keep support of Egyptian army, b) put boots on the ground in Syria when the Syrian rebels have publically stated they do not want this and we have no idea what the rebels represent, or C) support Assad. a bump on a log has more brains than you, Shep.
44. "upstage Republican rival?????"
Robert ,   Australia   (07.28.12)
That would be hardly necessary given Romney's inept performance so far. The Obama camp must be saying to themselves, "Roll on November".
45. Now he's trying to buy Jewish votes before the election??
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (07.28.12)
Why doesn't that surprise me. He'll be golfing and forgetting you again if he is re-elected.
46. The unshakeable commitment speech
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (07.28.12)
...is given to every country that Obama talks too. He can't come up with anything else to say to daft foreigners... who can't figure out he says the exact same thing to everyone. He probably recites the same speech to his daughters when they tell him that he doesn't care enough about them at the dinner table.
47. He is A Magician With Several Rabbits
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (07.28.12)
What is the value of Israel's standing army (the best man for man for man in the world), its arsenals of weapons..bought in the USA, and its location in Africa...to the USA I ask? How many more soldiers would we (USA) need w/o Israel..to guard NATOs Southern flank? Israel secures US there,, against Iran, Syria, a wishy washy Egypt, and other Muslim countries? We give billions year to Pakistan for them to spit in our faces. We forgave billions in loans to Egypt, for its (non participation) in the 1st Gulf War. We rescued Iraq and are saving Afghanistan..with our sweat and blood. 5,000 dead US soldiers so far and 2trillion dollars. Meanwhile Syrian rockets are aimed at Israel..and they admit it. NOW( with WMD warheads). Iran threatens suicide bombing of US interests..and missile ships offshore (US). So who is kidding whom? Obama needs our gelt (see G Soros, etc.). and votes in swing states..he is pulling rabbits out of his hat.. a real magician. Dont be foolled folks...vote RIGHT in Nov.
48. To: No. 38
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.28.12)
Oh, but the U.S. doesn't, does it? It sends TRILLIONS of dollars into Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt and a whole host of other nations that are actively anti-American. But -- please tell me when the United States bothered to thank Israel for taking out the Osirac reactor in Iraq. What in fact the United States did was to cut off Israel. Of course, less than a decade later, along came that pesky Gulf War following Iraq's invasion of Kuwait --- and the United States did not have to face a nuclear Iraq. Did the United States bother to say "thank you" to Israel? No. Never. Think of all the American servicemen and women that did not come home in body bags, thanks to Israel. Boy, the United States sure are a bunch of arrogant ingrates!
49. Buying votes
Sam ,   Texas   (07.28.12)
Obama is buying votes pure and simple. The funny thing is we really dont have the money, so he borrowed from future Americans to feed his megalomania. I hope Israel takes the money, and laughs all the way, and spews in his face.
50. #43 sealift
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (07.28.12)
Whatever gave you the notion that there are "Moderates Islamists", The all have the same goal to establish a New Caliphate No boots on the ground required, a couple of large conventional bombs would destroy all tranist through the Suez Canal for years to come Ditto for the Aswan High dam
51. Surely the number of Jewish voters doesn't warrant the cost
Elias   (07.28.12)
The present attitude of US presidents towards Jews is certainly a change from the Roosevelt era. Then they were quite content to let Jews die in the death camps in the interests of the war against Germany, although the consensus of opinion is that they could have done much more than be idle spectators.
52. Get it right!
Mira ,   Vienna   (07.28.12)
It wyas NOT Obama, who granted the support, it were the US lawmakers and I could hear Obamas teeth grinding while signing it!
53. This is from Congress NOT Obama
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (07.28.12)
The president only signs off on legislation from the Congress. This & the other funding for Israel comes from the republican led Congress. Obama knows it would be political suicide to reject a bill for Israel's defense when elections are coming up.
54. Predictable, sadly
Gene Graczyk ,   Santa Rosa, CA USA   (07.28.12)
So, let me get this straight. In addtion to the billions of annual aid to Israel, Obama adds another $70M for a specific security project and the response is: we hate you? We will take your money but don't think it means anything? Israel is a political mess domestically, the IDF is hollowed out, and the Israeli foreign policy is in the hands of idealogues. Let someone offer a hand of help and this is the response. THAT is why so many American commenters say they have had enough--keep the money here and, please, dear friends, go your own way on your own dime. Ungrateful indeed...
55. These talkbacks illustrate the darker side.....
Robert ,   Australia   (07.28.12)
......of the Jewish character as most of the posters here expect Obama to kneel and lick their feet. Israel is by far NOT the most important issue in today's world however much it is imagined to be. Also, it is a very childish trait to compare what people perceive as Obama's treatment of Israel with that of what is perceived to be his treatment of other entities. It is reminiscent of offspring arguing as to who is favoured most by their parents.
56. And this will stop THE BIG ONE from Iran????!!!!!!!
Rick   (07.28.12)
He uses taxpayer money to treat the little ones and does NOTHING to deal with the biggest threat: IRAN
57. #48 Sara B
Moshe of Rockville ,   Rockville,MD USA   (07.28.12)
The US under the Bush(the son) administration thanked Israel for taking out the Osirik nuclear reactor under construction.
58. #46 Steven
Moshe of Rockville ,   Rockville,MD USA   (07.28.12)
See #33, above.
59. To: No. 57
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.28.12)
1. Kindly document. I know that Dick Cheney sent a private word of thanks to Israel (I have actually personally seen the photograph of the bombed out reactor core with Cheney's scrawled "Thanks!" across the bottom of the photo), but that is scarcely a public expression of gratitude. 2. Construction of Osirac had been completed.
60. Yes, Americans, these talkbacks are how we say thanks
ZionistBill ,   Israel   (07.28.12)
Pathetic, isn't it? Is it any wonder we've been kicked out of every nation on the planet?
