1. The NAZIS were also a political party
Trevor ,   Modiin, Israel   (07.31.12)
2. Spineless Europeans
Nice Bloke ,   Rochdale   (07.31.12)
As a European this makes me feel sick. The jury may still out as to whether Hezbollah had a hand in the Bulgaria bombing but the UN appointed body that investigated the murder of Hariri (not to mention the bystanders) has directly implicated Hezbollah and issued warrants for the arrest of Hezbollah. Then there are the bombings in Argentina which killed scores of people. If those aren't the actions of a terrorist organisation I don't know what are.
3. true
Gidi ,   TA-Israel   (07.31.12)
What I don't get from Europe, is that the EU doen't consider Hezballah as a terror group, but I also know that the country of the Netherlands, as a part of the EU, is the only European country that specifically considers Hezballah as such, in it's entirety. This as opposed from the UK, which only sees the military wing as a terror hotbed, while other EU countries don't have any opinion about Hezbollah.
4. It says everything we need to know about the E.U.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.31.12)
The E.U.'s refusal to blacklist openly genocidal Hizbullah says everything we need to know about it. Israel should never allow the E.U. to pressure us into "peace talks with the P.A." or anything else. We know where it is coming from.
5. It sounds like a joke
split ,   US   (07.31.12)
An Israeli is lecturing Europeans on principles of democracy - Thanks God EU lawmakers aren't infested with an Israel firsters and not as stupid as US Congress is and don't take a marching orders from TA.
6. the terror you created
ismael ,   beirut   (07.31.12)
GO HOME LIVNI the hizbollah is a product of israel's aggressive politics in libanon. next time you enter a war, make sure that you win.
7. EURABIA will soon implode economically!
Father Abe   (07.31.12)
8. The EU appeases Moslem terrorists..
Bob K ,   Orlando USA   (07.31.12)
Tzipi Livni is right, we know it, the U.S. kmows it. The EU sees it but is afraid of calling Moslem terrorists what they are. The EU knows all the ezamples Livni gave. They know that hamas is a terror group dedicated to Israael's detruction; it also has a political wing which advocates terror and it won the 2006 Palestinian municipal elections. The EU also knows that the UN Security Council phas passed 2 resolutions demanding that 'all armed groups in Lebanon' except the Lebanese army be disarmed. The EU pretends hizbollah is a political group because Europe is afraid of its own Moslem population and of hizbollah who have shown they can commit terror in Europe - Bulgaria. The EU appeases Moslem terrorists.
9. EU Terrified
e ,   USA   (07.31.12)
The purpose of terrorism is make people afraid. Looks like the terrorists are winning in the EU countries. They are so afraid of reprisals from their resident terrorists, the EU governments are paralyzed.
10. EU: you learned nothing from 9/11
EZ   (07.31.12)
If Hezbollah committed this act and gets away, they will learn that as long as they target Israelis they are free to exercise their "freedom of speech" in Europe. This will only backfire on the EU since they will increase their "resistance" in EU cities and kill European Jews and non-Jews. Eventually, the EU will be forced to change. But it will take a long time and many innocents will be hurt.
11. naive...
EZ   (07.31.12)
Tzipi this is well reasoned but completely naive. The reason Hezbollah is not considered a terrorist organization is that they are careful to target only Israelis and diaspora Jews. This does not qualify you as a terrorist in the EU and in left wing US circles. Remember EU ministers kissing Arafat as he signed orders for suicide bomb belts during the second "Intifadah"

13. #6. the terror you created
Charlie   (08.01.12)
Go back and study the history of the place. And thanks to Carter replacing the Shah with Khomeini Hezbollah was created by Iran as its Foreign Legion to meddle in Lebanon in the early 1980s. It has been a long road so far but the Shia are making headway against the Sunni especially if they get their nuclear weapons.
14. even koffi annan considers hezbollah to be terrorists
zionist forever   (08.01.12)
In 2006 former Secretary Gemeral of the UN and not famous for his love of Israel issued a statement part of which says: Since July 12 when Hezbollah launched an unprovoked attack on Israel killing eightIsraeli soldiers and kidnapping two, Lebanon and Israel have been thrown back into a turmoil of death, destruction and hundreds of thousands had their lives disrupted - being forced into shelters or to flee their homes by rocket attacks from Hezbollah , which they had launched its fire indiscriminately to sow the widest possible terror. There are soldiers from about 6 EU countries who are there to keep the peace as part of UNIFIL force. The former UN Secretary General considers Hezbollah to be terrorists. Although it doesn't name them specifically Resolution 1701 considers Hezbollah to be a paramilitary force. There are EU soldiers in Lebanon enforcing 1701 but the EU itself doesn't believe they are terrorists because they have a political wing. Politics sure would be interesting if all political parties had missiles and guns. In Israel MKs throw glasses of water over each other when they have a temper tantrum, just think if they had all the weapons the Hezbollah party does then they could shoot each other.
15. The problem for Israel and it's politicians
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (08.01.12)
is that there are plenty of examples throughout Europe where Terrorists have eventually ended up as political entities. Probably the, the most glaring example is Sinn Fein a political party which had a military wing called the Irish Republican Army, who wre responsible to a great many terrorist acts. Hezbollah in Lebanon mirrors Sinn Fein/IRA in that it was an organisation established to reunify lebanon, Sinn Fein aim is to reunify Ireland (Eire). Despite Israeli protestations Hezbollah will not be labelled a terrorist entity anytime soon within the European Union. The days of Europe saying how high when Israel asays jump appear to be over.
16. Tzipi Livni
Tomek ,   Poland   (08.01.12)
Her immunity from prosecution in the UK has long expired. If she wants to lecture Europeans, why does she not go for a lecture tour across the continent. Starting with the Hague.
17. dont forget to vote for al quaida
zionist forever   (08.01.12)
If Al Quaida don't want to be black listed in the EU and want respectability whilst they go around crashing planes into tower blocks then the solution is to form a political wing. Perfect solution, they can then get the EU to help them get the Americans off their back.
18. tsipis problems continue
milson   (08.02.12)
zero sum game and distinguish moderates are hallmarks of livni, whose empty talk is now legion. The so called moderates in the arabs world are anything but and do not hold the keys to any real peace that livni strains for. The real problem is the average arab in the street is scared of his radicalized kids like the osmas and the jiahads and cowers in fear while his kids grow up in quaeda, hamas and hezbbollah. Livni means well but has no real content, is not a leader and tied her fate to the greatest coward in israeli history olmert.
