Shame on us.........these are not Jewish ethics..............
2. Indeed
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (08.05.12)
If anyone pretends to be surprised by this then they are merely deceiving themselves. Such is the atmosphere in Israel today, created because of the irresponsible utterings of various goernment officials.
3. There will always be someone to complain and to distort...
Keren ,   IL-BR   (08.05.12)
....our reality, therefore, the best attitute for Israel is to swiftly resolv this matter and learn not to let such big stupidities happen again in Israel. Prevention is a key word.
4. afraid
colin   (08.05.12)
Why do these officials continue with the lies, untruths and faksehoods. The african peoplke have the same treatment as any other person What are they lookiing for- A bit of synpathy,or want more for thier more for they do not want to be israelis

nadav ,   tlv   (08.05.12)
I've seen the Ghanian ambassador's wife and there IS NO WAY that someone can mistake here for an asylum seeker- she is impeccably dressed and well mannered- as well as the ambassadors and families from the other African embassies. I have NEVER seen any African getting abused verbally and certainly not physically in Tel Aviv- although I have seen them being abused by their employers - which is all the more reason why these people should be returned to their homelands asap.
6. I find these claims hard to believe
C ,   Tel Aviv   (08.05.12)
I think the government is racist and is dealing with the migrant/asylum seeker issue badly. But I live in central Tel Aviv in an area with alot of Africans. I have only heard a racist comment once in the past 3 years. Mostly, I see people being kind and polite to Africans every day. If the issue is police harassment of Africans, that I believe.
7. ambassadors wife being verbally abused
joey low ,   new york, usa   (08.05.12)
time for the government to stop talking and instead acting in a respectful way. these are not jewish values. we must always trreat the strangers among us as we wish we would be treated.
8. Equal opportunity nastiness for all
Beenthere ,   Nothanks   (08.05.12)
You don't need to be black or a foreigner to be treated rudely and inhumanely on Israel's streets, in shops, at agencies - you just need to be there to experience it... It's equal opportunity nastiness from an uncaring population.
9. i live and work in herzlia
JL   (08.05.12)
we have some africans working here..they are treated so well and are so liked by everyone here..i am sure they wish they could stay here forever..
10. Ever been to Africa?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.05.12)
There are manynations where you cannot even venture out of doors without a personal security team -- who, hopefully, aren't working for anyone else. I have also seen some of these African diplomats -- and their wives -- in action in some of Israel's finer boutiques. Their behavior leaves a great deal to be desired.
11. Typcial secular "love & tolerance" not only against haredim

BEN JABO ()MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (08.05.12)
Ship all the Illegals home, then the public won't have any fear of who may or not be illegal
13. What an absolute disgrace!!!!!!
Talula ,   Israel   (08.05.12)
There was a time when Jews in Europe were also afraid to walk down the street - look what happened. This vile racism needs to stop right now!
14. no suprising, usually this happened
ghostq   (08.05.12)
when a really bad parent blam his child for being bad, the child isn't bad, but evantually turn to one, to make the parent shut up, pushing Israel to a corner by UN officials can would work that way. and this time it is by left winger and not right wingers.
15. Complaint of African diplomats.
Leslie J Paldon ,   Waterloo Belgium   (08.05.12)
I do not believe that this is true. Many of us remember the words of Ms Rama Yade , the beautiful black Minister of Sport in the first Sarkozy cabinet after her visit to Israel . She stressed that she felt more at home in TelAviv than in Paris. as nobody commented or found her presence unusual. Leslie J Paldon
16. No Torah education,No difference from other Nations
Roland Seener ,   London England   (08.05.12)
17. My few experiences with African diplomats haven't been good.
Henry from New York ,   Currently in Israel   (08.05.12)
I remember once I was boarding an Acela. This gaggle of African diplomats (I can't remember if they were West or East African, and yes you can tell the difference just by looking) starts pouring out of the Acela Club, pushing and shoving while people are trying to have their tickets checked. Then they all start running down the platform like idiots. Though I guess they didn't know that the train won't leave anyone on the platform. Still, what utterly obnoxious people.
18. An expected outcome from the "am nivhar" stupidity.
Michael ,   California, USA   (08.05.12)
You brewed the soup, now you eat it. Basic changes to Orthodox Judaism are needed and the sooner the better. Yom Kippur is coming soon, time to start the principle changes.
19. Move the embassy to Jerusalem
Mordechai   (08.05.12)
There are very few illegal immigrant in Jerusalem so you won't be mistaken for an illegal there
20. "harm Israel's public image in Africa" lets hope so
jack bauer   (08.05.12)
with all the problems that have come with these illegal infiltrators hopefully the idea that Israel is a nation of pushover friendly fryers will gradually end. Its sad these lot feel insulted, but I'm not buying the sob story

This Sarah B woman is completely out of touch with reality. She is a genuine idiot...

Mira ,   St Paul, USA   (08.06.12)
So, your argument, Sarah, is 'you are bad, too?' That is a truly sad opinion. Secondly, I regret the blanket statements used to color Africa with one, broad stroke. It isn't accurate and it's spiteful.
26. Come home
Olivia ,   Accra, Ghana   (08.07.12)
Africans should leave there and come home, period.
27. harm Israel's public image in Africa
Olivia ,   Accra, Ghana   (08.07.12)
No worries about that since there is not much you can do to worsen it further than it is already. Keep your country to yourself and we will keep ours. Fellow Africans leave there I beg. Why be a slave in Obruni or Oyinbo land when you can be a prince at home?
28. #27 Olivia - Don't forget to keep your end
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (08.08.12)
of the deal. As a starter, how about your coming heee to pick up some of your thuosands of Illegals BTW- What's the latest news on HIV-AIDS, whichis so prevalent in Africa ?
