Maybe Israel has finally read the Fourth Geneva Convention, especially article 49, under which the transfer of its own citizens into occupied territory is a violation of International Law, and makes all of Israel's West Bank settlements illegal.

There are plenty of people in Tel Aviv/Gush Dan who would be happy to live in the North or the South of the country if reliable, fast transportation were available 24/7, 364 days a year. I wouldn't mind to live in Tiberias, Carmiel, or Kiryat Shmona etc if I can get to work and hang out in Tel Aviv in 40 minutes thanks to a bullet train! Once we have such a rail system, prices will naturally deflate and people will migrate to the peripheries.
