The bordering countries Iran Iraq Turkey is an issue no one solved. If Turkey has done strong thighs with syrian opposition and have good plans with Kurdish North .maybe we will see a surprise in the near future which may surprise many journalists and press . We have to remember of the Ottoman empire and how neo-ottomansm is working in and around Middle east like Turkey and present Egypt relationship ,Palestine, Azerbaijan,Israel,Cyprus,,North Cyprus,Greece,Northern Greece,Bulgaria,Macedonia,Armania .Ghagauzia, south Caucaus countries. We have to wait and see what the future has place in Turkey and Iraqi north kurdish region ,if mr erdogan has links with barzabi and suddenly and iraqi north joins Turkey than Iraq may be small and turkey may be as the old ottoman land and Attaturks aim was kurdistan joining Turkey so if north iraq joins turkey as a federation the only thing will countries causing or creating problems for Turkey willl siddenly be very ammased.and after that when the cake is cooked if the weatern pressmay have a different title than the one you put on ynetnews " sick man of eurioe is now cured ".god bless shalom in aleyhim.

3. Do The Kurds Have A History In The Region?
(08.08.12)
Are The Kurds Ethnically Differant than turks and arabs? So little tayyip erDOGan You Would Let The Ancient Kurds Have Their Own Region? Why Not! But you think Israel Should Give THEIR LAND to a Mythical people With NO HISTORY or Differance of ethnicity between arabs or bedouins? Well Isn't This A Fine How Do Ya Do! Looks like you GONNA HAVE PROBLEMS With People Who Rightful Ownership Of Land You Say is turkey's? Maybe there should be a Floatilla or a Flytilla For The Kurds, maybe the Kurds Should Seek u.n. observer Status, human rights reps? Well Why Not They Seem Like Nice People!
4. Right time
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (08.07.12)
Don't you think that it's the right time to organize kind of Piss flotilla with assistance to Kurds and send it to Turkey?
5. Finally starting to feel like a real ME player, Turks?
Cameron ,   USA   (08.08.12)
You've been wanting to return to your Islamic roots & culture, and now you get the full package. The Europeans must be congratulating themselves every day for telling the Turks to get lost in their attempts to join the EU.
6. Serves Them Right
marcohoe ,   San Francisco, USA   (08.08.12)
The Turks only came to present-day Turkey about a thousand years ago. Less than a hundred years ago they murdered a million Armenians and expelled a million Greeks, peoples who had been living in present-day Turkey for thousands of years. Why shouldn't the Kurds have their own country? They're even Muslims. It looks like everyone has also forgotten about the Turkish re-occupation of Northern Cyprus that started in the 1970s. Do Turks have more rights than other peoples?
7. THE KURDS WILL FIND A WHEY
ZIMBI ,   NJUSA   (08.08.12)
8. It would be nice to see an independent Kurdistan.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (08.08.12)
It would keep Israel's enemies looking over their shoulders.
9. ERDOGAN'S DOUBLE STANDARD !
Mark ,   T.a. Israel   (08.08.12)
ON ONE HAND HE ASKS FOR A FREE GAZA STATE AND ON THE OTHER HAND HE DENIES THE EXISTANCE OF A KURDISH AUTHORITY AT NORTHERN SYRIA ! AS A REAL MORON HE SHOULD GO TO A PSYCHIATRIC ASYLUM !!!
10. East Turkey, North Syria, North Iraq, NW Iran=KURDISTAN
hippocrates ,   earth   (08.08.12)
That would be the right thing to do as those areas are the traditional homeland of the majority Kurds
11. Humanitarian Aid
Jacob Erickson ,   Holon, Israel   (08.08.12)
I wonder what would happen if we told the turkish government that a large group of civilians wanted to send "humanitarian aid" and volunteers to help the Kurdish civilains? And that we were going to send it all with the expectation that none of it would go under examination by Turkish authoirities because the cargo and people will be prechecked in Israel
12. Wow, G-d really does have a bizarre sense of humor
William ,   Israel   (08.08.12)
13. Israel should allow

14. dont you see ? its Iran
Iranian H   (08.08.12)

15. To no:1 Suleyman Tosun
Adar ,   London   (08.08.12)
Why can't you Turks accept the facts? Why can't you accept that fact that Kurds are the native people of Kurdistan? Where did the Turks originally come from? Kurdistan will unite again!! Revise you're history, Turks are all mouth!!! Big mouth

You have some imagination but then there is the reality. AKP leader Erdogan is a follower of Fethullah Gulen. Gulen is the follower of Said I Nursi (Nurcu). Said i Nursi was a Kurdish separatist an enemy of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk (This was depicted in a movie made 2 years ago and made big headlines in the Turkish press). If you follow AKP's actions during the past 9 years you will see that they are slowly bringing Turkey into a division between a Turkish west and a Kurdish east. This was Said i Nuirsi's desire which he could not achieve by force at his time, Fethullah Gulen is doing it with soft power slowly. Kurdish state will never join Turkey, Turkish kurts will eventually have their own land carved from Turkey and in the future unite for the grater Kurdish state. Unless something changes in Turkey.....

Steve ,   Atlanta USA   (08.08.12)
Nice job, Erdogan.
19. "Zero problems" policy with neighbors turned well
Avi   (08.08.12)
Cut relations with France over the legalization of recognition of the genocide the Turks have committed on their Armenian neighbors. Pissed off the Germans by saying German Turks should remain as Turk as possible and become German politicians. Threatened Cyprus and Israel with military action due to gas discoveries, burned relations with Israel for domestic political reasons. Continues to oppress the Kurds inside Turkey, and not recognize Kurdistan. Slaughters kurds in Iraq without regard to Iraqi sovereignty and now the Syria civil war which harms its relations with Syria, Russia and Iran. I think the policy turned to be a major success.
20. Dear Erdogan playing big
TRACER ,   TRACER   (08.08.12)
Dear Erdogan, you thought you are playing cleaver(an Arab Meseas) This type of Boomerang was expected and on the longer run Turkey will lose Its part of Kurdistan. This is the price to pay Dear big mouth.

anton ,   Istanbul   (08.08.12)
Analysis but it only focuses on the worst case scenarios, make no mistake turkey has enough power to flaten syria in short period of time yet as the article said unless attacked she cant launch military action which is the best for all :) there is nothing the pyd can do to help pkk, even if they did the outcome of such bold step would be disastorous for em, we have been fighting terrorist for long time now so do not cheer for kurdistan and pkk so early dear commentators, results may break your heart ;) about the kurd flotilla, dont be so shy send it if you can ;)
25. Syrian Conflict
Nicbyte ,   JHB   (08.08.12)
Assad should stop being an pansy, arm the Kurdish rebels and send them into Turkey. Distract them and taunt them into war. Once Turkey launches an assault it will be an act of war and the Chance Syria needs to Crush the Rebels inside Turkish borders. Turkey will not risk full war with Syria if their general population in threatened with biological weapons of mass destruction. Just a thought...
26. Kurdistan rising!

bye bye Iraq, Turkey, and Iran!

Yours are big words and I only hope that they were true. Unfortunately If you read my analysys and then think about all that was said about when a Kurdish state was being formed in N. Iraq but never done maybe you can see the big danger. Remember all the secular officers of TSK are in jail at Silivri. If you have read Serdar Turgut (not that I respect himuch) you may even believe that there is bigger conspiracy against Turkey (I don't believe it).
28. Turkmens and FSO
turanian ,   turkey   (08.08.12)
this equation has many unknowns, Turkey will handle it prpperly , dont worry
29. # 28 Turanian from Turkey
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (08.08.12)
Based on your nick name Turanian (Turanci) I gather that what you mean is the great Turkish empire to span from Europe to Central Asia. 1. The Turkic republics such as Azarbeijan, Uzbekistan etc do not want to join such a union. At least so far they seem to be more secular and modernist then Turkey has come to be under AKP. 2. Even if Turkey can somehow convince them into such a union the rest of the world (not just USA and EU but also Russia, China, India, Brasil and the Arabs) will not let it happen. 3. Today there is no unity inside current borders of Turkey. It would a big achievement already if Turkey can defend its current borders and its fast waning western secular democracy.

WHY TURKEY( ERDOGAN ) IS NOT SENDING A FLOTILLA TO SYRIA WHERE THERE IS A REAL HUMAN TRAGEDY ? AND YOU SPEAK THAT SYRIA IS NOT A MATCH FOR TURKEY ! DO. NOT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT TURKEY UNDER ERDOGAN RULE IS A TIGER PAPER FORCE ! I BET YOU WILL BE THE FIRST PERSON TO RUN AWAY FROM THE BATTLE IN THE CASE TURKEY WILL GO TO WAR WITH SYRIA !!!
