Why, Henry! Does it come as much of a shock to you that just because you never heard of something doesn't mean it doesn't exist? Are you really that arrogant? The answer is the "1951 Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees." Read it.

How terrible is the fact that Swiss insurers such as Keller and Winterthur have consistently refused to pay out on the fully paid-up whole life insurance policies that were issued to millions of desperate Jews in the 1930s? How terrible is the theft of Jewish-owned Swiss bank accounts by every single Swiss bank with the sole exception of the Julius Baer Bank? How terrible is the fact that the Swiss acted as brokers for gold teeth and gold weddng bands and other jewelry confiscated from gassed Jews? How terrible is the theft of Jewish-owned art, which was socked away in Switzerland by the Nazis and now hang in Swiss museums? Gosh! It's getting really hard to keep up with the acts of the despicable Swiss! How do you Swiss even stand your corrupt and craven selves?
34. @33 pot and kettle
roger ,   zurich switzerland   (08.11.12)
yes how terrible are the Israeli war crimes of 1948.....displacing and dispossessing 750,000 Palestinians...destroying 500 villages, stealing their land, their assets, their jewellery, their bank accounts..all of which adds up to billions and billions of dollars. How terrible that Israel has not admitted to these crimes, including the ongoing crime of occupying and oppressing these people. How terrible that Israel has not formally apologised to the Palestinian people, has not made amends atoned for its sins,, has not made reparations, has not paid compensation and returned those homes, that land, those assets. How do you Israelis sleep at night with your arrogance and cruelty?

First of all, wasn't it five Arab states that declared war upon the nascent State of Israel, one day after Israel's declaration of statehood? Oh, my, yes, it was! Secondly, the Arabs who left Israel were VOLUNTARY QUITS. They left at the behest of their leadership, who told them to get out of the way of the "conquering Arab armies" so that those armies could push the Jews into the sea. As an added incentive, they were promised first go at the property left behind by the Jews. It didn't quite work out that way, but that is not the fault of Israel, and Israel is under no obligation to allow those who left voluntarily to return. I also point out for the record that those Arabs who did not heed the call of their leadership and remained in situ are Israel citizens, and enjoy all the privileges and benefits of citizenship, though not all of the obligations, such as military service. Bank accounts? Are you on drugs? There WERE no banks in the region until Israel established them! War is hell, and there are consequences to starting them and losing. Israel owes the ersatz "Palestinians" not a damned thing. But you haven't answered my queries about the despicable acts of the Swiss -- which are ongoing to this day. Why not? I repeat: how do you Swiss stand your corrupt and craven selves? Answer for TRUE crimes of the Swiss, as distinct from asking me to account for fictitious ones supposedly committed by the State of Israel. Go ahead -- I'm waiting. The crimes of the Swiss are well-documented. Answer the questions posed in my post at No. 33. When are the Swiss going to make amends for the REAL and DOCUMENTED crimes committed against the Jewish people? When, Roger? When?
36. a distinct ignorance
tom ,   toronto, canada   (08.12.12)
these "rights groups" seem very eager to condemn israel, but they are displaying an ignorance of geography. the migrants are NOT egyptian, and israel is not deporting them anywhere. and certainly not to their countries of origin. by contrast, the egyptian border patrols' practice of shooting migrants doesn't arouse nearly the same level of concern. i guess it makes better headlines to denounce israel, because the egyptians are not accountable for their behaviour, in the patronizing court of international media - they are arabs, and nobody expects any better of them? such bloody hypocrisy!

Here the UNHRC article refugees unlawfully in the country of refugee 1. The Contracting States shall not impose penalties, on account of their illegal entry or presence, on refugees who, coming directly from a territory where their life or freedom was threatened in the sense of article 1, enter or are present in their territory without authorization, provided they present themselves without delay to the authorities and show good cause for their illegal entry or presence. Read : DIRECTLY ! they came to Israel VIA Egypt , not directly , so no refugee status for them .
