31. 25 Charles There is only ONE G-D !
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.28.12)
Einstein and i believe in the same ONE G-D. Einstein did not know how to connect to G-D.That s the difference between Einstein s perceiving of G-D and my belief. If he had have had an orthodox education,he would have known more. And how about you?Do you acknowledge the existence of G-D, the way Einstein does? CHARLES.Your "delicate" way to tell me that i am a liar was inappropriate and offensive . We agreed that if i am kind, you are kind. You did not keep your engagement. Well,i guess ,me ,with my strong believes, trying to get along with you an ultra secular,is just another lost case . Never mind.

Sorry Rivkah, but you are talking about the very myths and superstitions we educated people don't want in our lives. Read the Bible? That's what bored me to tears in Sunday School and made me turn my back on religion. There is no way to prove the existence of God and the Devil. The only thing we mortals can do is live a good life, be charitable, help others. This is the only life we have, so we need to make the best of it. Any afterlife is only heresay (until proven otherwise).
35. 13 Michael,The brain does not ...

need religion. The soul does. Did you ever discuss this issue with real religious people?
36. 19 jonatan What evidence do you ...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.29.12)
have of something that happened before million of years, according to science, that the big bang is the origin of the world? The religion was not imposed on me. I chose to be religious, because i KNOW that G-D exists.I perceive His existence in my every day life.
37. The high priests of the Temple are driving people away

38. I hate religious pressure, as much i hate
Arad ,   Arad   (08.29.12)
the classical pedant, self-righteous leftist atheist who is the other side of the coin of religious extremists. Well, as matter of facts i find much more annoying the atheist who "must seek converts" in every talkback into his idiology and how everybody else who is not in tune with him is either ignorant or a rigth wing nazi
39. religion
volin   (08.29.12)
The people are finaly realising the lies, untuths and falsehood of religion The belief in idols and story's are slowly digging inti idiots brains
40. #28: You're struggling with semantics
Guy ,   KC, USA   (08.29.12)
I guess my point was too subtle for you, even though you're really smart and come from where shiny Apple toys are designed and litigated. Creed is an article of faith. Judaism is an orthopraxy that reveres a being whose motivations can't be understood, but contains no creed otherwise. This is compatible with, or possible tantamount to, agnosticism, and Jewish practice, especially Karaite practice, is primarily organized around literal interpretations of a revered text. There is no requirement in Judaism's precepts to hold as fact origin myths of Genesis that have no clear historicity. You can believe in reincarnation if you'd like. But the main value of Judaism is that it venerates law and the sanctity of human life, rather than some article of faith about gods begetting themselves and miracles. You also know nothing about what I believe, much as I you, so the arrogance is presumptuous.
41. Atheism and anthropomorphizing G-d: Same thing
Guy ,   KC, USA   (08.29.12)
Atheism and the promulgation of deities that intercede on humanity's behalf are part and parcel of the same human weakness. One suggests that man can create G-d in his own image, and the other suggests that man can discard G-d. Adherents to either 'program' are not ready to accept that certain things may be beyond their control or influence. Both are gateways to lawlessness, as they provide the cognitive ammunition for elevating a fickle, violent creature above any law designed to govern his well-being.
42. ORA
Michael ,   Haifa   (08.29.12)
Could you please explain the nature of the different properties between the "brain" and the "soul"
43. #40
Arad ,   Arad   (08.29.12)
You are partially correct, but there are some basic and vital issues that are to take in count, that could be considered as a creed, such a stric monotheism,
44. 31 Ora . Einstein and god
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.29.12)
I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it. (Albert Einstein, 1954, The Human Side, edited by Helen Dukas and Banesh Hoffman, Princeton University Press) And i can give my source , not "uit de duim gezogen" So Einstein does NOT believe in the god you want to impose on everyone . Sad that you can't accept founded critics . I can accept critics when they are founded , and i don't tell invented stories .
45. When god cures his laryngitis and is able to speak again I

shall gladly hear him out. If he repeats his dumb theories from our past encounter I will politely tell him to get lost!
46. 42 Michael,Do you like music?
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.29.12)
Take two musicians who are both technically perfect. One plays only with his brains and the other plays with his soul too. While the first will be admired , the latter is going to lift up the listeners. The soul perceives things that the brain can not perceive. To be more precise ,i need to ask my son who is Rosh Kolel.
47. @Ora & Rivkah defending the indefensible
david ,   Jerusalem   (08.29.12)
It's kinda sad really. You too are a lost case, but we ask you to give your children a chance. It really doesn't matter what you call your god, or what book you say you read, the important matter is what you do with your beliefs. When you act based on what's written in an old dusty book containing at best the knowledge -but mostly the superstitions- accumulated until the bronze age, you know you are doing something wrong. If you think it's OK to hate homosexuals just because "it's written", and that's what you teach your children, that's just wrong and not open to discussion. And that's a lack of education, no way around it.
48. 44 Sure Charles you are 100%...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.29.12)
trustworthy, and i do, as you say delicately, invent stories. In other words a liar. If that is what you think of me,i intend not to waste my time to react on your comments. Why should i? You don t believe a word of what i say. Would you mind to refrain from answering me?
49. 41 Outstanding description of BOTH fringe loonies!
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (08.29.12)
and the need for moderate Orthodox to assert itself and stand for a logical interpretation and view of Halakhah / Torah.
50. 48 , you told it by yourself that you invented
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.29.12)
You translate your "wishfull thinkings" in true facts .
51. ORA
Michael ,   Haifa   (08.29.12)
Your expertise in casuistry enables you to produce the most remarkable false analogies that boomerang on you. If the quality of "music appreciation" is that same quality of the soul recognizing a god, you are somewhat demeaning the god
52. 50 Charles When i express ...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.29.12)
wishful thinking i precede that by "i think' That is what i told you.
53. 51 Michael The soul is the divine...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.29.12)
part in men. That is what i know. I told you i have to ask my son for a more precise explanation.
54. ORA
Michael ,   Haifa   (08.29.12)
One of your problems, Ora, is that you confuse between what you know and what you believe you know. Instead of recognizing your ignorance, you substitute belief for your ignorance. I accept my own ignorance and am unaware of my ""divine parts" and you have no way to empirically demonstrate that a man has a "soul"
55. Ora , in your # 16 NO i think
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.29.12)
When you talked about Einstein . And you were 100 % wrong , a "wishfull thinking" you translated , maybe "inconsciemment" , into a "fact" .
56. Ora , in your # 16 , NO i think
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.29.12)
When you talked about Einstein . And you were 100 % wrong , a "wishfull thinking" you translated , maybe "inconsciemment" , into a "fact" .
57. 47 david, and you act on what your
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.29.12)
heart thinks. Commands the head to provide the reasoning that will defend, in your case, homosexuality.. And that s a lack of discernment , no way around it.
58. level of education...
yosef ,   williamsburg US   (08.29.12)
...has nothing to do with belief, but the level of proper EMUNAH does! If we are Yidden becuase our mother was and not because we acknowledge the Holy Torah then we have no more right to call ourselves Jew than Morsi in Egypt does.
59. 54 Michael Focus on your emotions..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.29.12)
and think less;that might help you to being aware of your divine part. Good luck.
60. 58 Yosef,according Halaha...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.29.12)
you are wrong. But his descendants, knowing nothing about Judaism might marry out and become goyim.
