31. Morsi
agokoy ,   cebu   (08.22.12)
has met with Amadinejad at Mecca, and will meet again soon in Tehran. Tanks have been moved into Sinai at a time when a possible outbreak of war between Israel and Iran is looming. This might have been just a coincidence. But I believe the Israeli leadership is not really that naive. The reshuffling of the Iron dome may be a small indicator of their true sentiments. Just an oponion.
32. Gee...You Give The Enemy An Inch
Brett ,   Florida   (08.22.12)
And look what happens? Almost makes you want to create a palestinian state huh??? Why oh why does Israel worry about what the rest of the world thinks? Do your own talking and make the muslims (brother) get out of your newly aqquired land. They broke the treaty. Does a house have to fall on you? Israel has done too much talking out loud. It's truth or dare time now. Attack or be attacked real soon.
33. Should We Annex Sinai Peninsula????
Mike ,   Haifa   (08.22.12)
we should prepare ourselves mentally for the conquest of Sinai by Israel in the next (up and coming) major war with Egypt (within 5 years or so). is there anyone out there that thins once tha happens we should not annex the peninsula? or should we just apply limited semi-sovereignty over it? lets discuss that....
34. All this scenario was orchestrated by Hamas and Egypt!
Citizen ,   BS IL   (08.22.12)
This is a game and Israel`s government failed, apparently! This scenario was orchestrated by Egypt and Hamas, with the risk of a few lives they have "reason" to move forces near border of Israel! Israel, be aware, this is a dirty game. The war it`s getting closer and closer! All Arab countries are preparing themselves to attack you! Take them out now or you will loose Eilat and a big part of Negev. Lebanon it`s already prepared and waits for Iran to give the start! Don`t worry about Syria, the actual crisis it`s just a way for Hizballah to get the Syrian rockets, you know the rockets that the secretary of Hizballah was speaking about, they have them from Syria. Be very careful what you do and most important, what`s the next word you throw out. Nobody can do politics with Arabs, they are too wild for politics. Your best friend it`s the sea, use it against your enemy!
35. 2 Egypt is not seriously going after "rebels"They playing
Alan ,   SA   (08.22.12)
Those 16 or so Egyptian soldiers killed were sacrificial chickens . Egypt wanted to repopulate Sinai like Nasser days with weapons . So they use excuse that they fighting the "rebels" They not "rebels" they are Morsi Partners And Obama is in on the scheme. He even dont mind the Anti Aircraft Missiles for who??? Mr Nobleeagle You think us Y net Posters are stupid?
36. Israeli Hypocrisy or however it's spelled :/
Osama Uthman ,   Cairo, Egypt   (08.22.12)
So, if terrorists launch rockets at Israel from Sinai, then you say that peace is broken, when we send tanks to intercept the terrorists you also disagree, if you're defend by ''the god of Israel blah blah blah'' why would you get worried of an extra 15-25 tanks?
37. Tanks in Sinai.
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (08.22.12)
The treaty forbids it. Israel must demand to use armoured camels with steel helmets to fight against terrorists.
38. #5 bozo advice
sam ,   tel aviv   (08.22.12)
...yes israel could destroy those tanks and yes, somebody could sneak into your bedroom and destroy you ...but ...there would be much wider complications, not good all around... ...better to let america take care of egypt (one way or another) and some one who knows you and your lack of insight and perspective to take care care of you ...contain the damage, mevin?
39. Since when has Israel ever had respect for borders.
Alex   (08.22.12)
The Sinai is Egyptian territory and they can move in whatever armament they want. Obama says so, and Lieberman should shut up and go back to his temporary home in the illegal settlement in the illegally occupied West Bank.
40. Then it is official: Egypt tears up the peace treaty..
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.22.12)
..by deploying troops in Sinai in direct violation of the Israel-Egypt peace treaty. When Egypt attacks us we have every right to pulverize Egypt and to reconquer Sinai, to expel the Arabs from Sinai, to annex Sinai and to let Jews/Israelis resettle in Sinai. I've always said that the peace treaty with Egypt is a sham and will not hold. Peace with dictatorships is never stable. History proves this empirically and logic proves this - logically. If Egypt attacks Israel, we have every right to flatten Egypt to the ground once and for all.
41. giving a finger.........
tiki ,   belgium   (08.22.12)
Israel was outmanouvered by Egypt, like it's outmanouvered by the world all the time because of it's apaisement policies. The world is back to the 1930th. when the "Jew" was guilty of all sinn's, hunted, defiled & boycotted. Brown shirts were roaming the streets of Europe and openly calling for the murder of the Jews while the rest stood by and said nothing. Today , the colours may have changed but Israel has become the 'Jew'. In those days 'keeping quit and hoping for the best' didn't work and 6 million Jews were thrown into the gasovens, today it will be no difference. Israel should stop trying to be everybodies friend by apaisement. Like the 'Jew', she never will be. Some things never change........, blind, unfounded Jew-hate is one of them.
42. #2 nobleeagle of Egypt
MR   (08.22.12)
If you read the article, the answer is simple: because "Egypt failed to notify Israel about the deployment of tanks in Sinai - a move that clearly violates the peace treaty". Such a simple answer to all your questions.
43. Fools they are massing for your end
John Prophet   (08.22.12)
Israel attacked Iraq and Syria to stop their nuclear programs. What makes anyone think they won't annihilate Iran. The US said using atomics on Japan saved a million allied soldiers. Why wouldn't Israel do the same thing to save six million Israelis?
44. #5 Don't be stupid
esse ,   --   (08.22.12)
Israel isn't about to start anything with Egypt.
45. Need Obama, do you?
Kevin P ,   US   (08.22.12)
Of course you do. And I hope he tells you to go to hell. Your nation has done nothing but complain about Obama, so why should he help you? Although no matter who is President, it won't be long until the US redefines its alliance with Israel. And guess what? It will be 100% Israel's fault. When it happens, Israel will no longer have US backing in the UNSC, nor will the US intervene on "Israel's behalf" to help Israel get along with its neighbors. And the world will laugh itself silly as Israel increasingly finds itself in a precarious strategic position. You think things were bad in the past? You haven't seen nothing yet!
46. To: No. 22
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.22.12)
The 1979 Treaty makes absolutely no mention of the West Bank. You may also be interested to know that back in 1979, Israel offered to return Gaza to the Egyptians, and Sadat refused!
47. To: No. 20
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.22.12)
Don't forget the British and the French. Israel's sole interest in 1956 was in ending the illegal blockade of the Straits of Tiran. The British and the French wanted the Canal back, and didn't mind spilling Israeli blood in order to achieve their goal. Don't you know anything?
48. keeping silent about violations of area D,
observer ,   Egypt   (08.22.12)
has not given Israel right to continue violation. as by treaty, the only way to solve those problems is though direct negotiation or international tribunal.
49. Mubarak
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (08.22.12)
Mubarak could have encouraged peace with Israel for a prosperous Egypt. Instead, Mubarak armed his army for a war against Israel, supported the pig Arafat and later Hamas, and educated a whole generation that their only problem was Israel. He planned his attack as soon as he could neutralize Israel's strategic weapons. Soon Mubarak will hang, but war is inevitable. Egypt is armed to the teeth. Its people are enraged because they have no food and no future. The Brotherhood cannot change this fact, the only thing they can do is find an excuse for their inevitable attack, for instance, an Israeli attack on Iran. Whether because of corruption or stupidity, Israeli leaders are the only ones who did not see this. Now with the Egyptian anti-tank and anti-aircraft deployment in Sinai, let's hope that even Netanyahu and Barak will realize what is happening.
50. Hold your horses fellows and let me get it straight...
Mark Wilson ,   U.S.A.   (08.22.12)
You want Egypt to protect your border from Terrorists and to keep infiltrators away, yet you object to Egypt sending their military to do the job. Egypt paid a heavy price trying to stop Al Qaeda from having a strong presence in the Sinai due to the void created by the absence of authority in the Sinai. You people are hypocrites and the only reason that you are in a fast decline is that your leadership is less competent than those of Taliban... Too much bravado and no brains (Sarah B style) will lead to Ahmadenajad's prediciton of Israel being wiped off the map... SHALOM...
51. to #46
observer ,   Egypt   (08.22.12)
Egypt need no-one to dictate which type of weapons she must use in fighting terror on her own territory.
52. to #46 Sarah B
observer ,   Egypt   (08.22.12)
According to the signed treaty, Egypt guarantees of freedom of passage through the Suez Canal and Straits of Tiran. Israel agreed to guarantee free passage between Egypt and Jordan. In the area within 3 km. (1.8 miles) east of the international border, border patrol units not to exceed three battalions will supplement the civil police in maintaining order. In the framework of the accords, 52 lines addressed West Bank, Gaza, while only 8 lines addressed Egypt-Israel. What talk progress Israel made for the WB-Gaza issue? What Israel is going to lose is freedom of passage through the Suez Canal and Straits of Tiran.
53. Lydia Abbas refuses to negotiate borders go complain to him
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (08.22.12)
54. Osama Highly mobile special forces backed by helicopters are
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (08.22.12)
are the standard weapons against terrorists who shoot and run. By the time you get tanks there, they are long gone, the tank approaching is a dead give away. So the relatively slow cumbersome tanks are for?
55. (22) Lydia
tiki ,   belgium   (08.22.12)
Treaties are about text, not wishfull thinking & personal interpretations. The text was....Israel shoud give back territories, not ALL territories!
56. don't be fooled

Israel's FM wants only the outset of Morsi and Abbas.

Yes, the camp David accords does mention the Palestinian problem. http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/Peace%20Process/Guide%20to%20the%20Peace%20Process/Camp%20David%20Accords Please read A. West bank & Gaza Also the same accord says Israeli troops must be 3Km inside the border and Egypt can have one mechanized division 30kn inside their border.
58. TAKE BACK THE SINAI AND BLOW THE ASWAN DAM!

Forgive Sarah B, she can read, but she has a comprehension problem. She barks too much due to ignorance. Being retarded is not a crime, its a disease...
60. I see Sarah B
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (08.22.12)
is making things up again to make Israel look bad. I am becoming increasingly convinced she is an Iranian stooge sent to discredit normal Israelis and therefore undermine support for Israel proper.
